I am sorry, but I don’t have the ability to copy and paste articles from other sites using my barely functioning, 11 year old computer.

But yesterday’s Washington Post (Sunday’s) says Trump is trying to send all seniors on Medicare a one time, $200 gift card to help pay drug co-pays.

Fortunately, Thank God, I think I'm among few seniors that take no prescription medication. From what I understand, due to the high price of medication, 200.00 won't go very far.
Guess it won't hurt in getting the senior votes though.

Same here at 66. DH on the other hand takes cancer drugs. Fortunately he’s retired military and we’ve a very small co-pay otherwise it would be horrific.

This smells of election time "throwing a bone" to people who are likely to vote - now if it were a stipend of 200 dollars a month, as part of medicare reforms; that would be a serious change in the program and probably helpful to many people.

They could be given a choice of spending it every month or putting it away in tax-free savings account for when medical needs arise that are not already covered - so those who are healthy and take no medications could use it later or pass it on to their kids (who could then pay taxes on it if they inherited it or roll it over into their own "medial IRA/Fund."

But that would almost certainly take an act of Congress, need to be costed out and involve compromise something that there just isn't a lot of in the US right now.

I have two Rx, for thyroid and asthma. So far, being forced onto Medicare has been worse than I’d expected. Not only does it not cover these two very common drugs, I just learned I can no longer see my long-time, very excellent physician. The $200 at this time may be a boon to seniors, though.

Yeah, it's a bone. But the same story is being floated by the Dems of medicare being defunded/destabilized by the Repubs comes out every freakin' election. Question...why is it always Medicare or Social Security that is always picked to be destroyed by the democraps? Answer...because they know that seniors vote and they depend on those two government payments to live.

And, if the $200 is for co-pays, it actually goes further than it would seem on the surface.
