Trump speaks with Putin. Another long call. Who initiated the call, Trump or Putin?
Much different tone than "playing with fire" Truth post.
Two leaders discussed Ukraine drone strikes and "various other attacks...by both sides."
Trump accepted that Putin will retaliate, and it will be big.
Trump admits "immediate peace" not coming.

BIG NEWS: Admission that Russia can play a key role with Iran deal, something The Duran discussed more than a month ago and is now in play.
Russia can unlock many doors for Trump and his policies, but time and patience is running out.

Iran's Supreme Leader Sends Nuclear Warning to U.S.

By Amira El-Fekki
Published Jun 04, 2025 at 10:16 AM EDT

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a fiery speech on Wednesday, condemning U.S. demands over its nuclear program as "rude" and "insolent," and accusing Washington of trying to block Iran's progress and self-sufficiency. He warned that the United States "cannot do a damn thing".

Why It Matters

The response from Iran's Supreme Leader's is the clearest yet to the nuclear proposals made by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, who has threatened to use military force if there is no deal.

They also underline Iran's commitment to uranium enrichment, the main sticking point. Trump has said no enrichment would be allowed to prevent Iran acquiring nuclear weapons — something Tehran says it does not seek.

Tensions are high as Washington awaits an official response to the proposal sent following several rounds of talks, previously described as positive by both sides.

What To Know

"The US's first word is that Iran should not have a nuclear industry. Our response to America's nonsense claims is clear: they cannot do a damn thing in this matter," Khamenei was quoted as saying by the semi-official Mehr News Agency.

Khamenei later took to social media, saying that the U.S. seeks to block Iran's nuclear industry in order to keep the country dependent on Washington for radiopharmaceuticals, energy, desalination technology, and other critical sectors.

Uranium enrichment, a source of pride for Iran, is at the heart of a long rift between the two countries. While Iran says it does not seek nuclear weapons, the American administration has voiced concerns over reported significant enrichment activity, closer to bomb-grade levels.

A confidential report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says that Iran conducted secret nuclear activities with undeclared materials at three sites long under scrutiny; in response, the U.S., Britain, France, and Germany are urging the IAEA to declare Iran in breach of its non-proliferation commitments, according to Reuters.

Denying allegations, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi warned against what he described as a "politically motivated" move against that could derail Tehran's cooperation with the UN watchdog, according to the Tehran Times.

What People Are Saying

Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on X: "Thousands of nuclear scientists & researchers have been trained in Iran. Should we disappoint them, make them unemployed, & take away their hope in our country's future? The rude, insolent US leaders want this. They're opposed to progress & self-sufficiency for the Iranian ppl... In the current nuclear talks that are being mediated by Oman, the US's proposal is 100% against the spirit of "We can." What the US is demanding is that you should have no nuclear industry at all and be dependent on them."

U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on social media: "Under our potential Agreement — WE WILL NOT ALLOW ANY ENRICHMENT OF URANIUM!"

What Happens Next

Iran must make a formal response to the U.S. proposals. Authorities on both sides are yet to confirm if a sixth round of nuclear talks will take place.

Landing in an orchard is exactly what Iron Dome is designed to do. It prioritizes missiles, drones coming into the population centers or military targets. The ones projected to hit fields and open or unpopulated areas are allowed to hit.

At this point the B-2s and B-52s should be headed back to Diego Garcia and we should be sending another aircraft carrier back to the area. And Trump needs to make it clear that these assets will be in place X date and if at that point Iran hasnt agreed then they will get hit and hit hard. He wont and Iran knows this.

I dont think Israel has the conventional firepower to completely take care of the issue alone.

Yes, I too am surprised that his talk has toughened at the same time assets are leaving, and would have expected something different as well.

Makes me wonder if Iran is knocked back enough from earlier efforts that both countries feel comfortable putting her on a back burner or the lower priority list for the moment.

Iran to give stronger response to Israel than past operations

The Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, has declared that Iran is fully prepared to face any possible scenario.

According to Mehr News Agency, Al Mayadeen TV conducted exclusive interviews with Iranian political and military officials, seeking their views on ongoing talks with the US, Israeli threats, and other pressing regional issues.

In the interview, General Salami emphasized Iran’s complete readiness to confront any threat and reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s firm resolve to safeguard national sovereignty and the rights of the Iranian people.

Addressing recent threats made by Israeli officials, Salami stated that the Israeli target will be exactly what gets destroyed. "The Israelis know well what our capabilities are.”

He also issued a stern warning that any party involved in a potential attack on Iran would regret it, promising a response “stronger and broader than those seen in the True Promise operations 1 and 2.”

In a detailed Financial Times feature, Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, spoke extensively about the escalating concerns surrounding Iran’s nuclear program. He revealed that Iran has significantly increased its stockpile of uranium enriched close to weapons-grade levels, now around 60% purity. While Iran does not currently have a nuclear weapon, Grossi warned that it has the material to make one quickly.

Grossi emphasized that Iran’s key nuclear facilities are deeply buried half a mile underground accessible only by spiral tunnels, making them extremely difficult to target with military strikes. He described this as a major obstacle to any potential military action aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

The piece isn’t a traditional interview but a feature-style profile that blends Grossi’s insights with context on the broader geopolitical stakes. Grossi stressed that although negotiations reopened under US President Trump’s envoy are serious, failure could lead to potentially catastrophic military conflict, especially given Israel’s threats against Iran.

If accurate, it could require either boots on the ground to take these targets (have to be air dropped that far inland, thus limiting numbers) or sealed with tactical nukes. And it would HAVE to be successful, or else leave a hell-bent highly-motivated enemy well on the way to its own nukes. It would be comparable to a distant enemy taking out Raven Rock and Cheyanne Mountain command centers, maybe worse

An Israeli ship is on fire after being blown up by the Houthis in the Red Sea.
This is of course, of deep concern for the gov't of Israel and Lloyd's of London.
But is of no concern to or for the U.S. at all.
Because the Houthis are not breaking ''the Deal'' [Agreement made with the U.S.]

On May 6, 2025, a ceasefire deal between the United States and the Houthi movement in Yemen—brokered by Oman—took hold, ending the March–May 2025 United States attacks in Yemen, as well as the wider US–UK airstrikes on Yemen since the beginning of the Red Sea crisis. The Houthis agreed to halt their attacks on US vessels but otherwise would continue their attacks on vessels in the Red Sea[1] and emphasized that the ceasefire did not in "any way, shape, or form" apply to Israel, which had begun launching its own strikes on Yemen.[2]

there are still limited munitions and time constraints, so it may be awhile yet- but clearly we're about the work of building consensus for doing the deed- only thing that is a mystery is why Iran has gone back to doubling down on it's belligerence- they'd been doing some pretend-appeasement moves there for a while :: shrug ::

Trump Puts Iran Nuclear Deal in Doubt, Raising Risk of War

Published Jun 11, 2025 at 10:06 AM EDT

President Donald Trump has signaled diminishing confidence in reaching a nuclear agreement with Iran, raising new concerns about the possibility of military conflict in the region. In a podcast interview released on Wednesday, Trump said he's "getting more and more—less confident" about securing a deal.

The remarks come at a sensitive moment, with both nations returning to the negotiating table but casting doubt on each other's intentions. Though talks are scheduled, mutual distrust and competing demands continue to cloud the path to any lasting agreement.

Newsweek has reached out to the White House and Iran's foreign ministry for comment.
Why It Matters

While the United States and Iran have agreed to resume nuclear talks, President Trump's increasingly doubtful tone and Tehran's escalating rhetoric are raising concerns about whether diplomacy can succeed.

With American military assets and allies stationed across a volatile region, even the perception of failed negotiations could heighten the risk of miscalculation. The renewed uncertainty marks a critical test of Trump's foreign policy strategy, especially following his withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear agreement during his first term.

What to Know

Trump's comments on the "Pod Force One" podcast offered a stark contrast to his earlier optimism. Asked if he believed Iran would agree to end uranium enrichment, Trump said, "I did think so, and I'm getting more and more—less confident about it." On the negotiations, he said: "Something happened to them... I am much less confident of a deal being made."
Military Options

While saying that the United States will not allow Iran to develop a nuclear weapon, Trump said it would be "nicer" to avoid war. Nonetheless, the Pentagon is preparing for alternate scenarios. General Michael Kurilla, the outgoing head of U.S. Central Command, told lawmakers on Tuesday that strike plans had been submitted to the White House in the event negotiations collapse.

Iran Issues Its Own Warnings

Iran continues to say its nuclear activities are focused on peaceful purposes such as energy production. However, Defense Minister General Aziz Nasirzadeh issued a pointed threat, warning that Iranian forces would target U.S. bases across the region if hostilities begin. "If a conflict is imposed on us... all U.S. bases are within our reach," he said.

Trump has continued to press for a tougher nuclear deal, saying that previous frameworks gave Iran too much leeway. Since exiting the 2015 international agreement (JCPOA) in 2018, his administration has sought stricter terms that would impose broader limits on Iran's nuclear activity—particularly its uranium enrichment—and regional behavior.
What People Are Saying

U.S. President Donald Trump: "I did think so, and I'm getting more and more—less confident about it. It would be nicer to do it without warfare, without people dying."

Iran Defense Minister General Aziz Nasirzadeh: "All U.S. bases are within our reach and we will boldly target them in host countries."
What Happens Next

Talks are set to resume later this week, with Trump indicating negotiations could begin Thursday and Iran pointing to Sunday in Oman. Tehran is expected to deliver a counter-proposal to the U.S. offer it previously rejected. While both sides remain at the table, the growing strain and threats of military action have cast a shadow over the talks, raising the possibility that failure could bring the two nations closer to open conflict.
