POL Trump promises $5,000 dividends to U.S. citizens if GOP takes both chambers

Gee.
That would sting if you were right.

You're not.

Maybe watch some Fox news instead of TikTok and Bluey reruns?

Speaking of Bluey, Australian news channels often get it right more than American ones. Who'da thunk?
Try the grownup channel.

I'd love to put a bunch of my unwashed underwear into a plastic bag and put it over my head too, but I have a nation that I'm fully engaged in supporting at the moment...

To keep the mods off my back:
I admire your resiliency in the face of extreme adversity. :D

If you have to adopt liberal principles to win an election, no point being a conservative.

Another thing I can't argue.
One point to the Kiwi.

Nonsense and again, save Saul Alinskys rule 4 for the useful idiots...

You're not wrong either.

Be nice.
When he finds himself a US citizen again after the annex of New Zealand, we'll welcome him with open arms and open minds.

He'll have to buy his own drinks though...

Trump talks for almost a hour and a half, and this one part of the speech, is getting all the traffic, and getting everyone all wound up..

Yet, the general public completely forgets about the trillions and trillions being shoveled out to illegals, and all the other frauds and NGOs in the country, stealing money, and the other $39 Trillion of debt, loaded on by Congress and other Presidents....

:hmm:

$40,000,000,000,000. dollars in debt and how much more will this create?
It will create the same economic benefits as it did, when Trump issued the stimulus checks, that saved us during the Covid lock downs. Only this time, there is 18 trillion in investments coming into the manufacturing industries in America.

Trust the man with the plan.

Even if the $5,000.00 checks never materialize, it will move the election to the right enough to stay the course, which might be the intentions all along.

I'm voting Trump for the money honey.

I'd vote for him any way.

(But will it be tax free??)

President Donald Trump on Wednesday promised that he would issue payments of $5,000 to every U.S. citizen if the Republicans win both chambers in the midterms.

"And here is my promise: if the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them ... I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000," Trump declared during his speech to the GOP midterm convention. "Very much like a successful company will do a cash distribution to its shareholders."

Trump went on to tout the success of his Trump accounts program and likened it to prior payments to U.S. military service members.

"But the only condition on the payment of this dividend that we're going to be making. So it's $5,000 to every adult. The only caveat I have is that the dividend that we're making must be spent in the United States of America," he added.

"So if the Republicans win, you win with us, and you get $5,000, it will be called the Trump dividend," he went on.
So we will poop a little more on our grandchildren's future.

I am sure it will land in our laps in the next few years and not theirs but really????

$40,000,000,000,000. dollars in debt and how much more will this create?

Who cares, honestly?
Does it have any real meaning to the Ramen eaters like you and me and all the rest of us?
Like money is even real any more...

It's the system's ability to feed and power the masses that is at question.
Resources and networks.
Plan accordingly.

Personal survival is the goal whilst we watch 'the system' encounter potentially fatal instability.
Times change and history occurs.

I much as I love to piss in dirtpig's Wheatabix, sometimes he's more rational than your typical American liberal Alinsky reader.

Sometimes... ;)

It wouldn’t be shoveled out to illegals if Trump had kept his promise of Mass Deportations!

Dems have been doing it since FDR. Blacks used to vote GOP and LBJ changed all that with the 'Great Society' and free stuff. What about free Healthcare, free daycare, forgive student loans, free tuition for all, reparations, and I haven't even mentioned the Mamdani stuff yet.

Where do Dems go now? Will this represent the only time in history when Democrats come out against the government issuing money to people or do they up the ante and promise $10K? He's trolling them for the midterms.
Yep--and remember how our inflation went up like a rocket when Biden gave everyone $2000 during Covid?

I would MUCH RATHER see him do what I heard a conservative radio talk-show host suggest today--give all married-with-children who make less than $250K/year a full tax break on income taxes---instead of printing MORE money, give us back what is our OWN! Stimulus to the economy and real help for families--without inflation since it's not creating new money.

Unpopular opinion: This is a brilliant political strategy, even if it’s a dumb idea.

Let’s be honest, Trump isn’t going to lose any votes from his base because of this. A lot of fiscal conservatives (myself included) will point out giving out 1.2 trillion in stimulus checks when we’re already 40 trillion in debt is just digging us deeper into a hole we already don’t know if we can get out of, but at the end of the day what’s the difference between 40 trillion and 41 trillion when we borrow almost 2 trillion a year anyway. 2.3 billion was given out in stimulus after COVID and we’re still here so anyone screaming about hyperinflation is being dramatic.

Now, here’s why it might actually be a brilliant move that could save us from economic collapse even though it makes no sense economically.

Trump didn’t get this country 40 trillion in debt, Congress did. Yet regardless of that, every single year the left tells their voters they’re going to spend more money and give them free shit and they keep, ****ing, voting for them because they care about free shit more than they care about the debt.

The problem they’re facing now is the only people getting free shit from the democrats are illegals, drug addicts, criminals, and fraudsters. The working class has been completely ignored and hasn’t seen a dime from democrat leadership and they’re the majority of the party.

Now think about all those forgotten men and women who just saw Trump offer them $5000 just for being an American citizen if they help us win instead of their leaders promising to spend their tax dollars on giving citizenship to illegals, getting criminals out of jail, and putting a vending machine with free heroin needles on every corner.

How many people do you think will take that deal and vote red in November for the first time? It’s definitely not zero.

Democrats will destroy this country, and 1.2 trillion added to the debt will be nothing compared to what they’ll spend if they regain power and push through their socialist agenda. So while I don’t love the idea of Trump digging us a little deeper in the hole we’re in, it’s a lot better than handing the shovel to the left so they can dig our grave.

which essentially is just saying, "The end justifies the means."

Why just married with children? Do those who are single or dont have kids not count? Are they not impacted by the rising costs of everything as well?

Still waiting on my DOGE check.

In early 2025, Trump and billionaire Elon Musk floated sending 20% of the cost-cutting savings from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) back to American taxpayers in the form of a $5,000 “DOGE dividend,” but no central pool of cash was ever created from which to distribute.

Late last year, Trump claimed federal revenues collected from new tariffs would fund $2,000 rebate checks for middle- and lower-income families, but fiscal models later showed the rebate would cost almost twice as much as the $240 billion generated by tariff collections and the administration didn’t actually have the money or authority to send out the checks.

And after allowing Affordable Care Act health insurance subsidies to expire, which hiked premiums for millions of people, the Trump administration backed a plan to issue direct rebates of $1,000 to $1,500 annually to citizens’ Health Savings Accounts, but the rebate idea went up in smoke after Congress failed to pass legislation re-appropriating the “savings.”

The $5,000 payout is the fourth time this term the president has suggested his administration will give checks directly to Americans, and not a single one has ever been issued.

I don't know. That's just what he suggested. Perhaps they make up the largest percentage of the middle-class taxpayers? And get no additional gov help, as many single mothers do, or older folks (w/o kids) who have SS and Medicare. Maybe that's what he was thinking of--those young middle-class families starting out who have no additional outside gov help.

Too be fair Musk did try, he brought in the people and the blueprint and it didn't take long for him to be run out of DC after he started making public what DOGE was digging up.
