ECON Trump: "Prices are down, income is up, our Border is closed, gasoline is CHEAP, inflation is DEAD"

I hate to say it, but I think Trump is going to make things worse overall. The bad part about the entire thing is that he will still be saying how good it will be, and he won't have a clue what is really happening. I have begun to question some of his statements and actions. IMO, he needs to step away from twitter/X. He posts crap that is ridiculous, lies, and items that he doesn't have the power to enforce.

The fact that he doesn't know to admit that he is wrong at times, speaks volumes about his character. When something doesn't go right for him, or he screwed up, he always blames another person, and tries to deflect. He can't say "I was wrong." Most of the time he states that he was given bad information by the wrong people. That maybe true, but he, and he alone, is the one signing the bill or issuing orders.

It is almost a running a joke. At times he acts like a middle school student. He is best friends with someone. He/she is the greatest person to ever live and can do no wrong. Whoever questions them should be considered a traitor. Then this person disagrees with Trump, and the total opposite is stated. The person is stupid, has no sense and is a horrible person. Sometimes I don't know if he is near 80 or 12.

If you want to go down a rabbit hole look at the bump stock ban, making tobacco products illegal for people under 21 to purchase. Both of which were done with a stroke of a pen and didn't go through congress

He has said certain things and some of his actions makes me believe that he just out for his friends, and making them lots of money. Yeah, he maybe draining the swamp, but it is being replaced with his own people and who the puppet masters want there. Nothing changes, only the players in the game.

Standard statement from someone who doesn't actually get his own gas, buy his own groceries, etc.

Here (central MD) regular gas is down maybe 5 cents, and only recently. Eggs just went down to $3.59 but that was a supply chain issue because of bird flu. Meat and most other groceries are insane, the standard price for a bag of assorted stuff is $50-$75 now. One bag of groceries  I leave the store just shaking my head anymore

Just got an email from electric company that electricity prices are going up again this month. Car insurance is up 25%

Bullshit prices are not down and income hasn't come close to covering inflation. The prices of cars have gotten to the tipping point people can't afford them . Since covid corporations have made record profits reduced sizes while increasing prices . They are fighting to keep it this way.

Don't forget discrimination! Age, race, DEI, a lot of gender (atl metro).

It's like 2007-10 again. Replace all of your over 45 employees with new grads that couldn't find they ass with both hands and a map!

Y'all want to know why customer service is in the toilet? All these new "managers" don't have a clue how to talk to people. They also think the title "manager" means they can sit they're prissy, in debt to the eyeballs, ignorant smart mouth ass behind a desk and delegate every task they are getting salary pay for.

Holy hellz don't get me started...

Don't lose sight of the reality of where we were. It was either him or kameltoes. Not much is going to change in his term, but it sure would have been horrendous if she won

No one wants to hear that. They lived in fantasy land that with DJT being in office their every desire would be instantly fulfilled. They apparently assumed that DJT would be a dictator of their whims rather than someone having to deal with a backstabbing do-nothing congress and a judicial system that has been stacked against him since his first term. That he’d be able to wiggle his magic wand and make the last four years, plus the Obama sabotage mess instantly disappear.

You know, I’m starting to see how Moses must have felt to be doing the best he could as a man, come down from the Mountain with the Tablets, to find the hebrews running around complaining he wasn’t getting them to the Promised Land fast enough and they preferred their gold cow.

If this country winds up having to wander in the wilderness for decades to come a lot of people better start looking in the mirror for the reason why.

You don’t worship a man and expect a god so you don’t have to work. You worship God and then ask what your job is in His plan.

I'm still crossing my fingers with the president. Till it's over, it ain't over, and only time will tell. There's plausible reality's that allow such a thing.... though the concerns are real as well.

I am looking to cut my costs. I cut the cable tv cord, now I stream, saving 150 per month .I put lawn mower guy on temporary vacation while I mow. I think I am going to ask neighbors to mow my postage stamp lawn for 50 bucks, probably wouldn’t take 15 minutes, that would save 70.

This is how it starts, next thing you know you'll be digging up baseball fields and planting cabbages. Victory Garden history is an amazing thing.

I would concur with your opinions. Gasoline was around 2:55 per gallon for a while but this week's back over $2.90. I thought maybe it was adjusting due to the war with Iran and Israel. I just know I have to watch every penny that I spend these days.

I mean I need to increase my ammo inventory and buy another 50 cal for my basement.

I asked my neighbor to mow my postage stamp lawn, and he agreed. He said he would do it for free, but I am going to give him a check for 50 bucks each month.

My favorite chocolate bar, went up from 5 dollars to 9 dollars, which in 80% increase, that is because of tariffs. I was bummed. I thought long and hard about giving up my luxuries.

My Honda needs a lot of work 4 to 5k worth.I am going bro beat two shops for the work, to see if I can get discounts. If that that doesn’t work, I will split the work between the shops, each getting the jobs they beat the other shop in. They are both Honda dealers so the work quality should be the same.

Do you have an Aldi within driving distance? You might be able to find an affordable substitute there.

One other suggestion that may or may not work for you: look for a retired Honda tech who works on cars. In many cases, they charge a lot less.

Not to mention shrinking the size.
Also not to mention the shrinking quality or selection. They are very good at hiding the fact that we are paying more and getting less. For the $5 off $25 purchase coupon at dollar general I only need 5 to 6 items in the cart. The good stuff? It's out there but we can't afford it. The stores don't even bother putting the better cuts of beef in the case. Haven't seen a flank steak or calves liver in the case in years. Whole chickens, used to be able to grab either a fryer or roaster and check out a set of Cornish hens. Are things ok? Sure, if less is okay.

Rental assistance programs in this area are starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel to keep people on their rolls. In 30 years of being a landlord and being willing to work with people with temporary assistance programs, I've never seen such poor "quality control". I don't say that to be nasty. What I am saying is they are not screening as well as they should and the money winds up being wasted when it is meant to help people stay in units and/or gain housing.

What we are seeing are a lot of new case workers working with Vets to keep them housed. But it seems to be going to people that only put in their four or six, got out, and then screwed up their lives/credit. We do have one lady that has legitimate PTSD from her military service and she is on Section 8 to keep her and her kids housed but she fritz's out every so often and we have to make sure that things don't go south in a hurry. What she is going to do when her kids age out of being part of her household (fast approaching for two of them) I have no idea.

Those who can still get pregnant sometimes have another baby, with no husband in the picture. I'll spare everyone the rant.
