GOV/MIL Trump: “Communities that do not want data centers, want to be backwards and poor”

I think people are entitled to see studies showing what the data center will do to their community and not letting city/county/or state officials make the decision. We keep seeing huge facilities go in with tax abatements and promises of jobs and they do not keep their word on jobs. They do not improve the community, they often have a very negative effect. Acres of land under roof and cement cause huge environmental concerns that should be addressed with the community and then let them vote. Also, let them pay taxes from day one. If you want to abate someone's taxes, start with senior citizens who are being taxes out of their homes.

I hear some parents used to sit their kids in front of a TV for free babysitting service.

I have to wonder that political theatre is the TV of the deep state ruling elite.

Wyoming has about 14 to 26 operational data centers, depending on how databases track individual buildings versus multi-building campuses.Tracked facility lists from the Wyoming Data Center Map show 36 total tracked facilities, with 26 operational and 5 more under construction.

Local economic group Cheyenne LEADS reports that the Cheyenne and Laramie County area specifically holds 10 operational locations with several more planned or building. Major operators in the state include Microsoft, Meta, and Google.

Compared to your population, it might be worse than some other places!

I think Trump never really spent any time getting to live in the real country or a small town, not the little slices of urban life in the country he's experienced in his life. Too bad he didn't spend a year in the Dakotas as a cowboy the way Teddy Roosevelt did. He'd understand when the rural population say no to such projects.

And FWIW, the GOP candidate running against Shapiro for PA governor stepped in it the same way. "We have all this space in PA's rural counties. There's room for hundreds of data centers, more than Ohio."

Meh. He was either bought out or straight up threatened. He's done a near 180 on the vast majority of what we voted him in for. Deporting 1000s a month? Ok, cool, only gonna take the next 300 years to get rid of them at that rate. Privacy rights? Gone. No more foreign wars? Just ignore the quagmire we got into for Israel. Epstein files? Yeah, right. A few cherry picked hyper redacted pages of what we already had released. About the only thing he's done right is the NFA/ATF gutting and the scaling back of EPA regs.

Did I miss something? are short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, and suppressors now legal to purchase and posses without nfa paperwork?
Can an American citizen exercise their constitutional right to exercise their Second Amendment in all fifty states without fear of prosecution?

I have some people sending me E-Mails telling me my Apple iCloud account will be closed if I do not send Money to some calforina address. Problem I do not have an iCloud account nor do I want one as I have no need or use for it.
My computer has a huge hard drive and I have yet to put a dent in the amount of data it can hold.

There is a difference between facts and opinions.

People may be wrong about facts, like perhaps 75% believing we had free and fair elections, if in fact they weren't free and fair elections.

When roughly 75% of people may be against building data centers, those are their opinions, and their opinions are not wrong.

its being built on prime ag land.

not a lot of the land is under plow, but it certainly CAN be.

I believe that much of what he does as President is for one thing, and one thing only...his legacy.

The economy can't be in the crapper when he leaves office, or his legacy will be tarnished forever. Hence, investing in data centers, cryptocurrency, Hollywood, etc... is all about growing the US economy, no matter if it's good, neutral or bad. And, growth in the US economy can ONLY be fueled by massively increasing the debt. He doesn't care about the future, and how much damage the $40 trillion (some 11+ trillion and growing, just on his watch) will do. He cares about riding out his term with a booming economy, where historians will stroke his ego by praising him.

I don't blame him. Every President in recent history has the same legacy building mindset. None of them would lower, or attempt to eliminate, the US debt, or the economy would collapse during their term in office. Kick the can down the road to the next President, is what the ignorant US population refuses to see.
 
Too many of these people in former manufacturing zones have been without a decent job so long and on the government dole, alcohol and drugs that their brains have atrophied to a point where they don't want a life, education, job or even family. Sitting around watching Captain Kangaroo chugging a beer while on fentanyl and waiting for their government check to come in is the day's plan of the activity. Corruption is absolute especially among law enforcement, judicial and city/county administration. They do what the local Democrat party or other political organization tells them to complain about to ensure they qualify for other government benefits like free refrigerators, rent,etc.

This is not opinion, what I heard at the gym or something I read online. I saw this in person as my hometown went from a middle class society to third world where many of the population sits around not wanting a job, even if offered one. For a population of 70K, they have 14 formal drug rehab centers with over 40 buildings housing out-of-state 1,000+ druggies. You can't drive down a street without seeing them in groups. This county is just like many areas in our country where manufacturing moved to China and Mexico long ago. Over the years, their despair has grown to where no hope resides and they resent anyone trying to hep them now.

IMHO, that is the reason for the Iran war, as well.

He wants to be the only person in history to bring "peace" to the Middle East. Most nations are on board with his Abraham Accords even if they won't state it. Iran is the only roadblock.

For all the anti data center people here, have you ever been to one? I’ve had equipment in a bunch of data centers over the years and they all just look like large industrial buildings. There is no noise outside except when they are running the generators and no emissions or smell. Most recirculate water and don’t use that much compared to other industries.. They just need to be built in areas that have adequate electricity supply. I’d much rather have a data center in my back yard then a paper mill or a steel plant.
