Trump aide Conway draws ire for kneeling on White House sofa

Some might ask why the only white woman in the room is depicted on her knees.

Some might, anyway.

Most of the guys in that room, had that thought crossed their mines as well...

What a big nothing! Nothing was said when Clinton had bimbos in other places in that room.

You remind me of an Officer - freaking out at his best sniper - who just saved his life - because his shoes are not shined - on the day he has to re up or not.
Perspective - man - perspective.
If she is wrong only an idiot publicly humiliates her.
They take her aside and say - you are great and I'm thankful - I'll defend you - but please no more of that.
As I ask in another post -
What are we going to do if you guys and your - join the liberals - in a pile on mentality - are successful in getting her to quit?

And you are acting like a hypocrite.
You would have a cow if it was the wookie.
You either have principles or you don't. I guess you don't.
Her picture was splashed large on the front page of Drudge.
If you are a good leader, you are responsible for the behavior of your people. They represent you for better or worse.
She was good during the campaign, but has repeatedly caused problems for Trump since he became President.

Do you know the difference between and outside guard dog and an inside dog?
Kelly Anne is an outside guard dog. She has her uses which she does well, but isn't good inside around the good china or guests. She needs to learn fast.

I do agree that Trump needs to talk to her in private.
He also had to crack the whip with Spicer too, when he got upset with him wearing an ill fitting grey suit.
He had to be reminded that he represents the entire Trump administration and he better get a good fitted black suit or else. Spicer got a new suit immediately.
Hell Trump disqualified potential applicants for cabinet posts because he didn't like their looks or grooming.
Trump is a man of standards and you better respect those standards if you are going to work for him.

As far as her getting upset and quitting, give me a break.
First of all no one is indispensable. Put your hand in a bucket of water and pull it out and see how long the whole lasts.
Second, I think she's tougher than that. She better be or she won't last.

Once again the liberal media has thrown sand in your eyes. They have blinded you to the BIG PICTURE here, and successfully diverted your attention from what really matters.

What the story SHOULD be about: Just weeks into his presidency, Trump invites dozens of black university leaders for a major conference on education.

But that doesn't fit the false narrative that President Trump is a racist, and hostile to the wants and needs of the black populace. So instead, everyone's attention is steered to a woman who momentarily put her feet on the furniture. I can't believe everyone on this thread so far took the bait.

OPEN YOUR EYES, PEOPLE. Sheesh.

Long time no see.

You really SHOULD pop in now and then...

One trusts you're well......

C'mon, let's get a life here, folks! The lady took a photo, probably at Trump's request, or at least as part of her job there. No biggie that she kneels on the couch. If the White House prefers she not do that, they will tell her.

Mrs. Conway is a happily married woman and mother of children. She is a real human being. While some consider it in appropriate. I find it refreshing.

My wife would do the same thing and not think twice about it. If Trump does not like it he will let her know.

She may be a great professional, but she has no class putting her feet on furniture, especially White House furniture

I don't understand why Trump doesn't insist she do something to look professional with her messy hair. Sorry, but I think she shoul put it in a bun or cut it and get a facelift. I don't know why her face is so wrinkled, she's not that old.

Seriously, You now make your own fake news???
Seriously the professional photographer took a picture of the whole group and she wasn't on the couch at all. It was empty.

There are also pictures of her taking pictures of the group.
Not all of them were the "formal" staged pictures.

The only "fake news" is that it's a problem.

As many have pointed out, it seems hypocritical to bash Obama's actions in the office, and ignore hers. Although personally, I find an aide's "disrespect" of the office less bothersome, than when the president himself disrespects the office. I suppose the media/blog folks making hay out of this are the same ones who excused Obama's gaffes? Human nature.

She should not have her feet on the furniture, and this should not have been a "news" item.

I wish I would have said that in exactly the same way. :)

You would ask Steve Bannon to do his hair and get a face lift and lose 50 lbs too?? They were hired for their brains and quick thinking in front of cameras, not their bodies and faces. After all, Pres Trump has "questionable hair" (but not to himself).

Based on that absurd statement - YOU might say that Obama had no impact on this country.

You think if Trump quit - we wouldn't notice the difference?

Some of your stuff makes sense and some of don't.

I can add to that. I'm told he was speaking to Benjamin Netanyahu while dragging his nasty feet over the Presidential desk: to the muslims the bottom of the feet is the dirtiest part of the body (remember the guy hucking his shoe at shrub?), so he was insulting not just the American people but also Bibi.

Kellyanne Conway: 'I didn't mean to have my feet on the couch'

White House adviser Kellyanne Conway responded Tuesday to the social media firestorm that erupted over a photo of her with her feet up on an Oval Office couch, saying she never meant disrespect while also lashing out at her critics.

Those critics accused Conway of being disrespectful to the White House and the visitors from America's historically black colleges and universities Monday when she climbed on a couch in the Oval Office to get a picture of the event with her smartphone.

"I was being asked to take a picture in a crowded room with the press behind us, and I was asked to take a certain angle and was doing exactly that," Conway told Lou Dobbs in an interview on the Fox Business Network's Lou Dobbs Tonight. "I certainly meant no disrespect. I didn't mean to have my feet on the couch."

Dobbs decried the "deplorable" hypocrisy and "venom of the left" in the criticism of Conway given the light treatment Dobbs felt President Obama got for putting his feet on the famous Resolute Desk.

"It is venomous," Conway agreed. "It is vicious. It bothers my children to be frank with you.

"I'm not a victim at all, but people should take very seriously the import of their words," she continued. "Especially when they know I meant no disrespect."

Dobbs himself was critical of Obama for putting his feet up on the Resolute Desk in a 2013 tweet. "Check out Drudge Report pic of the President with his foot on the desk," Dobbs wrote. "The White House released it mistakenly thinking it's a cool image."

I agree with others that it should not have been newsworthy..especially to the extent that it has been.
On the 'appropriate' side of it, I feel its rude to sit like that on anyones furniture other then your own and certainly not there.
Kind of like a police officer or firefighter...even in regular clothes, they are held to a higher standard because of who/what they represent within their community. I see it like that for Kellyanne. She is held to a higher standard and should act accordingly...she looked to be in more of a 'mom mode' then an administration role. lol

She got more criticism than Monica Lewinsky. I fully expected to find her really "kneeling".

So, wondering "why is this newsworthy?", read some threads, looked at the photos. Nada. Nothing offensive except the media's desire to portray Kelly Anne on her knees. Purient interests sell web page hits.

Still wondering why the nitpicking? One forum guy and some twitter comments that "Trump is trolling the media" with this photo. Huh? Then last night read a synopsis of his speech highlights which missed this but Scott Adams grabbed it.

Trump did a High Ground Maneuver by referring to many of the criticisms of his administration as “trivial.” Now the people who keep making such criticisms are defining themselves to be in the unimportant part of the conversation. That is super-strong persuasion that I think most people missed. It’s a trap. Wait for more “trivial” criticisms, with the President’s supporters calling them out as they happen. It will make the critics look small and unimportant."

Well, there you go again, reframing your opponents criticisms. Controlling the frame is one of Trump's greatest skills. Combined with his almost surreal use of the news cycle.... It was fresh in our minds, and many of us thought this was a nothing burger. Another Trump Gotcha moment.

I have no idea how he does this, but he seems to have a natural gift for it. Even Reagan didn't have Trump's skill at this. I love watching him run the table on the MSM and his detractors, over and over and over again.

This whole thing is simply ridiculous!

I'm surprised at the number of 'in the spot light' people commenting on this - so they have nothing better to do than be the Etiquette Police, guardians of the Oval Office?

Doesn't look like anyone at the meeting minded...so why should we??

After McCain's tweet - proved the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! (I know she apologized, but that's just the way Social Media is - no one remembers the apology. And EVERYONE knows that!)

Democratic congressman jokes Kellyanne Conway 'looked kind of familiar' on her knees

It didn't go over well

Updated: 11:53 AM CST Mar 2, 2017

Cosmopolitan —
Days after a photo of Kellyanne Conway kneeling on the Oval Office couch during a meeting with the leaders of historically black colleges and universities went majorly viral, Democratic congressman Cedric Richmond told a roomful of people he thought Conway “really looked kind of familiar there in that position there.”

His quote in full:

You even mentioned Kellyanne and the picture on the sofa. But I really just want to know what was going on there, because, I won't tell anybody. And you can just explain to me that — that circumstance, because she really looked kind of familiar there in that position there. But don't answer. And I don't want you to refer back to the ’90s.

Minutes before, the room “cracked up” at Republican Senator Tim Scott’s joke making light of the viral moment: “Has anyone seen the controversy around Kellyanne Conway and the couch in the Oval Office? Come on people. You remember the '90s. That couch has had a whole lot of worse things. Come on now.” According to the Washington Post, the crowd did not seem amused by Richmond’s comment.

The internet also reacted angrily; many called Richmond disgusting and some called for his resignation.
