Ok, now it's day 3 of this outage. The damage can't be all that bad in my neighborhood. The wind only gusted for a few minutes, as the storm passed.
This has happened before, where we had an ice storm that made the area South of here a winter wonderland. Yes, they had lots of trees down, 10 + miles from me. We just had a little ice on the tree limbs. But the power was out for 3 days for us. When they finally sent a bucket truck out, the guy popped in a new fuse on the line coming in, and in 15 minutes, he had the whole neighborhood back on, and he was gone. It's the same thing going on this time.
So, my situation with my Solar power, is there is almost no good sunshine to recharge my 11 batteries. That storm is still stalled 100 miles North, and the cloud cover is lingering. A confluence of those two factors. The batteries I recharged yesterday, are now depleted, and I'm down to my last 2 fully charged 100 Ah batteries. FML.

That's the saving Grace. The temperature has been low enough, that sleeping under a fan is not bad. Without having a fan, I'd be sleeping outside under a mosquito net.
Great.
Now you'll have a few days of oppressive heat and humidity.
Always happens after a storm.

And this morning we've been getting the deluge. The remnants of the storm system are sitting on top of us spinning around nicely. We've gotten 4"of rain so far since dawn, and it's still coming down with no known end in sight. Some roads that are low water crossings are flooded, areal flooding to be sure, have heard the high water rescue folks are here with their boats, but we're on high ground.
Definitely not complaining here, the ponds are filling back up and the pastures are already looking greener. The cows look pretty pitiful in the steady rain, but we've also noticed they're not seeking cover under trees. Probably good given the lightning, but I'd guess cool rain feels pretty darn good after weeks of highs in the low 100s.
