On TB every waking moment
My Raeford, a half lab half border collie rescue, loved tennis balls better than anything except trucks (to ride in, not fetch). When we were together, my house had a simple shallow A roof. I would toss the ball onto the roof and Raeford would listen for it rolling down, then catch it when it came off the eaves.

If I threw it too hard and it went over the peak, he'd go around the house and get it when it didn't come down.

Over 20 years ago, we had a Dal mix who loved to play fetch, and my DH did that same rolling-off-the-roof trick with her. It's hard to know at this point if she, or our current dog (who to DH's despair does not play fetch) was the dog of my heart. I still get sniffly thinking of her.

My dog loves to fetch his purple puppy (stuffy), but will not give it back for me to toss again.
