It will be 82° in the Austin area. That completes a December that is the warmest in 142 tears of Texas record keeping, and by 11°. Even more than that, this December will be the warmest winter month in Texas history.

It’s 81 here now, with a dew point at a tropical 68°. The air is milky white, that’s how humid it is. My dehumidifier has been running non-stop for a couple weeks again, and I’m having to empty it every 11 hours. It’s really ugly out there. These are late September or early May temps, not December. Oh, it’ll cool off on Sunday with that arctic front, but by Tuesday will be back in to 70’s. Looks like no winter for us down here.

Supposed to be a hard freeze tonight. We had sprinkles all day yesterday so humidity is high. They had record rain in areas of LA like they used to get in the 50's. Used to get off the bus to high school and wade through 1 ft of water at Slauson and Pacific. Still flooding there after all these years.

No snow, since no moisture clear and cold. It will be 50 F on Thursday

Forecast here tonight, -20F.
That AIN'T windchill. I usually don't look at windchill because what's the point, (once you hit around -20 or below, it's just plain damned cold that can kill you) but they have an advisory up for windchills tonight -25 to -35.

Dry. 34 degrees F tonight and a high of 47 tomorrow. (Calif. S. of Sacramento) That's hovering about as cold as it gets here. (We may have 1-2 days of freeze in a winter season.) It will return to the high 50s next week with rain.

Yep. While raising my daughters and teaching them about winter survival bags for the car, I told them over and over "Minnesota can kill you."

-27 here tonight, -46 wind chill.

Back when I was a boy  , we used to have wind chills in the -100s. (then they recalibrated the wind chill chart)

But wind chill is no joke.
I remember constant dangerous windchill when I was a kid. It definitely is far warmer here except last year. Nebraska windchill will kill a person too and unfortunately happens often.

It's supposed to be -4 F. tonight. It was 16 deg. F. this afternoon.
I have been blowing from my front door to the South, hoping to cool you Southerners down
a little as we are -22F going lower tonight. Been like this a week now and sign of it easing. These are January/February temps…. Enjoy your hot New Year (she says enviously)

I remember those mid west temps, I lived in WI. MN. MI. when I was growing up. We lived in Iowa in the early to mid 1980's. We had a whole month of Jan. one time where it was -55 and more. The days weren't much better. Stay warm.
