PRYR RQST To All Those Who Need A Prayer During The Holiday Season

Most of us are celebrating this holiday season with family and friends readying to ring in a New Year and be Thankful for the past.

My heart goes out to those who cannot join in due to circumstances beyond their control. Life got into the way for some and plans did not go accordingly.

Peace be with you and may the Holy Spirit shine in your souls and bring some joy with the memories of your loved ones who can longer be a part of the celebrations.

There are a lot of internet friends who grieve for you and have a digital hug or handshake with a warm smile to let you know, we feel with you. Reach out if it pleases you. We all need each other.

Amen! Lovely thoughts, and almost everyone has empty places at the table and in their hearts.
In ALL things, give thanks! No, it's not saying BE thankful for the broken dishwasher or extra unexpected bill. But thank Him anyways... for something in your life.

I pray for comforting memories and knowledge you will meet again, for everyone.

Your warmth and sincerity have blessed me.
Thank you for that.

Don't forget one sure fire way to ease one's own pain, at the holidays, or anytime, is to not only count your blessings, but most importantly, to be certain to be a blessing to another... Whatever you can do- a smile at a stranger in the grocery store, or feeding a community of hundreds- every time you let the lord use your hands and heart to bless his beloved children, your own joy becomes a balm...

and as I often remark, you've only this moment, and those two hands, and if you're NOT using them to lift and enrich others' lives, then what the he** are you doing?!

Saved, to glorify God.
Jesus is waiting to hear from you.
Like those that don't vote got no complaint,
those that don't pray haven't even asked
the Almighty God who made, sustains, and loves them
for His blessing and help.
The Holy Spirit helps with your prayer,
knowing what you want and need.
He knows the desires OF EVERY LIVING THING.
Trusting Him, can buoy you up over the worst of times, giving you confidence and reason to hope.

a week ago today (dec 12), I got on the internet at 3am

to see what emails bro has sent

he always stayed up late and drowned my mailbox with 'stuff'

I get up early and veg out.

but this day.. no emails.

I sent an email "you ok?"

I waited till a reasonable hr and called.

nothing

so I emailed his daughter 1600 miles away

"have you heard from your dad?"

"nope".. she called, no answer

she contacted bro's friend who lived cpl blocks away

friend went over and found him on the floor.

no autopsy cuz cops say "it looks natural"

no cause of death til dr tells her

wtf. the dr will not see the body

hes just a GP.

none of us believe any foul play

he was having BP issues and had hurt himself loading blocks into the back of his truck, for winter weight.

I always figgered I would go b4 him..

I drink and smoke heavily.

when its your time, its your time.

fast, is better than wasting away in a hosp

he prepared for this.

last july, when his daughter came to visit

he handed her an envelope with ALL directions and ALL things paid for.

she just has to jump thru the many hoops.

I always figgered he would get snuffed by the homeless.

he spent much time and $ making huge meals

and taking them down to the homeless, to distribute

I said "take it to a church, cuz you will get jumped at the river"

I guess the moral of this, is to make constant contact with folks.

so they immediately know if something is wrong.

familys are so spread out anymore.

and email is replacing face to face, or even voice to voice.

Everyone is expressing such beautiful thoughts! Zeker, losing a beloved brother is hard no matter what time of year. I'm praying that your grief will heal.

I'm expecting family in for Christmas but was keeping an ear out for a young person I know whose family couldn't get a plan together. I was going to invite that person for dinner. Fortunately things have worked out for them and I was told so with a smile. Small things matter especially at this time of year.

I'm so sorry @zeker - I know how hard it is to lose a family member. He sounds like he was a wonderful person.
Thank you, @2dollarbill - that is a wonderful sentiment and idea. It lifts everyone when you share love and kindness. I am surprised at how simple courtesy surprises people these days - it's not hard to be kind; it's not hard to be empathetic, and it costs you nothing except a smile.

Zeker I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. He will be richly rewarded for his generosity!

This has been a sad season for many people this year what with personal losses as well as what is going on around the world. As Summerthyme said, try to find something to be grateful for and try to be a light for others during this dark time.

My condolences, Zeker. Prayers for you and all those who's grief is so fresh right now- particularly those private people who don't necessarily want to bring up their losses, but nonetheless need to know that we know, and care, and remember them in our prayers, too.

the homeless in his town are the best dressed homeless around

when we had to quit hunting, cpl yrs back,

bro took all his expensive hunting gear to the homeless camp.

from boots to clothing, he didnt scrimp on $

he never had a problem distributing the food or clothes,

except one time some stoner showed up with a knife

thankfully, the guy was so far gone that bro got out quickly

hes in a better place now.

ty all for your kind words.

Good thread. I thank God for the Parents we had. We miss them terribly. I thank God for helping us through all the sadness in life, and standing in the Lord when the world comes against us in humility and Godly strength. I have been so blessed by meeting wonderful people who came over talking about my little dog, then theirs, and many other topics, and we both part smiling.

None of us can save the world, but we can make our own little part of it a little better.

Living in concert with many of you this season and all those that come before and will come after. God Bless us and hold us in His Hands. Comfort us. Give us patience, wisdom, and compassion to deal with those that aren't capable of understanding because they have yet to walk the road we do. Give us strength and endurance that we can set the best example for others so when it is their time to walk this road, they'll have a way to make it through because others showed them the way. If we must go through this season in life, let it be our purpose to make the next person's trip down this road a little lighter and brighter.
