U.S. EMBASSY TO BOUNCE AS IRAN THREATENS STRIKE

The U.S. embassy in Baghdad is preparing for an ordered evacuation, citing “heightened security risks.”

This comes hours after Iran’s Defense Minister threatened to strike U.S. bases if nuclear talks collapse or conflict breaks out.

Not a drill. Not a warning.

Evacuation prep is active.

Middle East powder keg just got a lit fuse.

Is that the everyone leave and the last person out the door light the fuse to level the place?

//PRIORITY//
//BLUF: INDICATIONS AND WARNINGS EMERGE REGARDING DEVELOPMENTS IN MIDDLE EAST. RIOTS CONTINUE TO EXPAND IN MANY MAJOR U.S. CITIES. RIOTS IN NORTHERN IRELAND BECOME MORE KINETIC.//

-----BEGIN TEARLINE-----

-International Events-

Middle East: Indications and warnings are growing regarding an unknown threat to the United States throughout the region. Reports have emerged indicating that the US Navy base in Bahrain is at an increased defensive posture, and that non-essential staffers and their families are currently being evacuated from the American Embassies in Baghdad, Kuwait, and Bahrain. A few moments ago the UKMTO office also issued a very vague warning statement, advising mariners to be advised of increasing tensions through the Strait of Hormuz.

AC: At the moment, none of this is confirmed, but the rumors are trickling out anyway, since this appears to be a very time-sensitive threat, whatever it is. Nobody knows what's going on for sure, but a lot of diplomatic stations and military bases are at an increased level of readiness right now, which looks to be related to a very specific threat of some kind. Shooting from the hip (without any solid detail to go on), this could be related to an imminent Iranian nuclear test, or it could be related to Israel launching pre-emptive strikes to prevent such. Either way, the threat is extremely vague, but the heightened readiness seems real enough.

Northern Ireland: Protests transitioned into rioting throughout several cities overnight, from a few different perspectives. Originally, riots broke out over the weekend in response to immigration issues and the assault of a child. However, as unrest has spread, opportunistic criminals have taken advantage of the fray to conduct looting that was unrelated to the initial incident.

-HomeFront-

USA: Counter-ICE protests have emerged in several major cities around the nation. So far, most of the more disruptive events have taken place in Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, NYC, Providence, and Denver.

Ohio: This morning evacuations were ordered for Vinton County after an industrial accident occurred at a local explosives factory in McArthur. Local authorities state that a very large tank of nitric acid began leaking at Austin Powders this morning, prompting the creation of a substantially large evacuation zone. The FAA has also placed a 30-mile Temporary Flight Restriction over the facility as the contents of the tank continue to present a hazard to the general area.

-----END TEARLINE-----

Analyst Comments: Last night the city of Los Angeles implemented a curfew for the city center, in an attempt to quell the rioting. Mass arrests were made in the DTLA area, however a state of civil unrest remains as demonstrations and protests have remained fairly persistent over the past week.

Regarding the protest events for this weekend nationwide, roughly 1,655 events are scheduled for June 14th, most of which are being conducted and organized by the "No Kings" cause. Of course, it is highly likely that not all of these 1,600+ events will take place. However, there is always the possibility that areas which have no history of political unrest may be the recipient of general shenanigans this weekend.

War Brewing? US Prepares Departure Of All Nonessential Staff From Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain Embassies

Is something brewing amid US-Iran tensions, given the stalled nuclear negotiations and ratcheting accusations, demands, and counter-demands?

The State Department is preparing to order all nonessential personnel to leave the US Embassy in Baghdad due to potential regional unrest, according to two US officials cited in The Associated Press. Additionally:
—U.S. MILITARY DEPENDENTS IN BAHRAIN CAN TEMPORARILY DEPART DUE OF HEIGHTENED REGIONAL TENSIONS- US OFFICIAL TELLS REUTERS
—WTI GAINS 4.6% ON REUTERS REPORT ON US EMBASSY IN IRAQ

Again, the only 'unrest' and tension could be Iran-related, though the Baghdad embassy has at various times over several years come under Shia militia attacks, and even rioting outside its gates.

The embassy is already operating with limited staff, so in reality the move affects a small number of people.

As it stands, nonessential personnel and family members in Bahrain and Kuwait are being authorized to leave voluntarily, per the report. The Pentagon has further indicated it is ready to assist with a possible evacuation from the Baghdad embassy.

But if the US and Iran proceed with the next round of talks, these immediate tensions are likely to be defused.

Oil prices spiked (and gold climbing) on the alarming headlines which suggest new regional conflict could be imminent, also with Israel potentially poised to act...

Gold gaining...

According to more background from the report:

Meanwhile, the Board of Governors at the International Atomic Energy Agency was set to potentially vote on a measure to censure Iran. That could set in motion an effort to snap back United Nations sanctions on Iran via a measure in Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers that’s still active until October.
Amid the reports of preparations for embassy departures, Iran’s mission to the U.N. posted on social media that “threats of overwhelming force won’t change the facts.”
“Iran is not seeking a nuclear weapon, and U.S. militarism only fuels instability,” the Iranian mission has warned in a public written statement.

President Trump has definitely expressed his preference for negotiated solution, but Iran insists that it be able to keep enriching uranium, at least at low levels, as a matter of national sovereignty.

There is a significant difference in the reports that forum members may have noticed, but the general public probably won't. That is the difference between the evacuations of dependents and non-essential personnel, which is bad enough; and the evcuation of EVERYONE as indicated by that one resport from the media in Iraq.

That report could be wrong or a result of the fog of war, but if everyone has left, then it is likely that the paperwork will have been destroyed. The most expensive US embassy in the world (as far as I know) will be left without protection beyond that which the Iraqi government of the day can provide.

This usually only happens during a horrific natural disaster like a volcanic eruption or an imminent threat of military attack (State Actors or Terrorists).

I only remember it happening during collapse situations, such as in Vietnam or Kabul, or the eruption of the volcano in the Philippines. I think that was just at the American base, not the embassy, which was located in a different area.

These types of evacuations are rare, costly, and seldom implemented. American service people, their families, and American civilians living in South Korea practice once a year for them, but I am not aware of anywhere else that does to that degree. Sure, the embassy staff practice it; you never know when a natural disaster or military attack might happen, but children and families are typically removed weeks or months before something like that is likely to occur. At the first signs of instability, all but essential staff are removed.

The same thing would happen more slowly when it is budget cuts. This is serious, and I mean it.
With Imams urging their followers to add to the unrest in our and others countries, there are many places that could go hot…

Time to check magazines, and go bags for here, in the US as well…

According to a defense official who spoke to Axios, “Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations across the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Area-of-Responsibility. CENTCOM is working in close coordination with our Department of State counterparts, as well as our Allies and partners in the region to maintain a constant state of readiness to support any number of missions around the world at any time. The safety and security of our service members and their families remains our highest priority and CENTCOM is monitoring the developing tension in the Middle East.”

BREAKING: The head of U.S. Central Command General Kurilla has postponed testimony to lawmakers set for tomorrow because of tensions in the Middle East - Reuters
Kutillla KNOWS that with VERY FEW EXCEPTIONS, he can sit anydamnwhere in the world and do his CENTCOM CiC coordination jobs. Those few exceptions are Nuclear and Embassy rescue. In general. BAD optics, General.

Either that, OR we are hip-deep in Kimche and going deeper, internationally.

The White House states that President Trump is aware and following the departure of non-essential personnel and military dependents from the Middle East.
He is aware. And he didn't ORDER this "ordered evacuation"???

Please do not mistake Persians for "goat humpers." They have a highly educated population that includes some of the world's best engineers and scientists. The current regime is repressive and forces ladies into headscarves, but it lets them become doctors, lawyers, and engineers (they don't waste people).

They are NOT Arabs, they are the original Aryan and are more closely related to the average European than they are to the Semitic groups around them. They have had high civilizations for the last 3,000 to 4,000 years. They invented the game of chess (although both China and Russia also claim this, it is likely a Silk Road invention), but they are masters of it.

Even their Islam is done differently from most of their neighbors, and that was true even during the High Middle Ages when they were the only Muslim people to depict the human form in art regularly. Because, well, "We are Persians and we do things our way."

Their home is not a desert; they have high and rugged mountains (where they probably buried their nuclear facilities).

Underestimate them at your (or the world's peril.

The good news is that the majority of their people hate the religious theocracy they are forced to live under. One that has proved very hard to get rid of.

I think we’re going to see an “event” soon. Too much noise, too much anger and uncertainty. The enemies of America, foreign and domestic won’t waist this opportunity I fear.

I have to wonder if all hell is about to cut loose. We have all been dreading and wondering when the military aged men that crossed the boarder are going to start attacking and killing Americans. It could be China will take Taiwan, After Israel attacks Iran, Iran nukes Israel with help from North Korea, China and the muslims let loose with drones over America as well as with other explosive attacks and GRID down all at once with mass death and destruction.
