Neither here nor there.
And you get on to Night Driver for using and not explaining acronyms. I read a ton of news and I didn’t know what it meant either and had to go to urban dictionary to find it.

This and ND does this and frequently!

the mother of this little girl is a very good friend of one my friends, she's asked us to pray for the mother, she's in really bad shape grief wise. I just can't even imagine... hang the perp is my go to advice.

And she would have, BUT SHE GOT KIDNAPPED AND MURDERED.

You do not let children especially your young children play out in the front yard. Back in the 80's our sons were not allowed to play in the front yard or just be in the front yard. They played in the rear yard. Front yards are not safe.

I wouldn't blame the stepmother. A seven-year-old can cover a good distance in a short while. My 7 yo dd once ran away after a fight with her brother She crossed a major highway and into town to her grandparents which was about one mile distance. They weren't home and I didn't realize she was missing until one of their neighbors called me. I thought she was outside with her 12 yo brother. It never occurred to me that she'd take off like that. After all these years I still shutter thinking about it.

Ah. You know, there are acronym definition sites out there. Back when we were on the old software, I had a link to one of them on the page. Who knew, right?

Family says coyote attacked toddler outside LA home
A family says a coyote ambushed and injured a 2-year old girl outside her Los Angeles home in a daytime attack before it was chased off by her father
December 3, 2022, 7:00 PM

LOS ANGELES -- A coyote ambushed and injured a 2-year old girl outside her Los Angeles home in a daytime attack before her father chased the animal off, her family said.

Home security video obtained by KTLA-TV shows the animal grab and drag the toddler across her lawn and sidewalk, just seconds after her father took her out of a car seat, set her down and turned back inside the vehicle to gather her toys. They had just arrived home from her preschool.

He heard the girl screaming on the other side of the SUV, then realized she was being attacked by what appeared to be a coyote. The father, Ariel Eliyahuo, shouted and charged at the animal, causing it to release the girl, pause briefly a short distance away, then scamper off.

The girl suffered scratches and bruises in the Friday attack and was treated at an emergency room, where she received the rabies vaccine.

“She has a lot of scratches on her left leg and one of them is really deep,” her mother, Shira Eliyahuo, told KTLA. "The coyote just kind of dragged her so her face is also a little bit bruised.”

Coyotes are familiar sights in many Los Angeles neighborhoods, though attacks on people are rare.

Got a FedEx delivery at the Swamp House once. The driver backed down a quarter mile driveway in a van where the backup alarm said This truck is backing up over and over the whole way. Drove our Fila NUTZ to the point I met the driver at the gate so he didn't get eaten. Driver said they were regulated on their backing up...

In a confession to investigators, Horner reportedly said he had finished delivering a package at Strand's home in Paradise. He said he was backing up his FedEx truck, when he accidentally hit Athena with the truck.

Horner told investigators that Athena was alive, but was not seriously hurt at the time. He said she was talking to him, even telling him her name.

The delivery driver said he panicked and put her into the van, according to court documents.

Horner then attempted to break the 7-year-old's neck to kill her. When that didn't work, he strangled the girl in the back of the FedEx van.
(from link in post 51)

I don't believe him. He expects us to believe that he killed a little girl because he was afraid of the consequences he'd suffer from being involved in a minor vehicle accident? That does not add up.

He kidnapped her for other nefarious purposes, not because his truck hit her. What a crock. He probably made up that story because he knows what happens to child molesters in prison.

They have high turnover of Fed Ex drivers here in this region, its a difficult route. They get lost or confused. I quit ordering anything with Fed Ex delivery services and stick with UPS who are the best for our area.

I never let my kids play out in our yard without supervision. This was in the '90s. We had all kinds of weird crap going on. Drugs being dealt next door by a guy renting a room from the neighbor and the cops didn't care because he wasn't a big dealer. On the light commercial end of the street, near a very busy main intersection.

I was ALWAYS catching flack from the now Ex. Then one day during the 5 o'clock rush hour, a huge SUV must not have been paying attention and missed hitting the vehicle in front of him by deviating his vehicle's path and hit the huge Box Elm tree in the front yard.

Didn't hear any more about the kids not being able to play in the front yard. Thirteen hundred cars a day were going by the house...I know because I called the City each year to see what the traffic flow going by the house was.

Then the kids found a blanket, a pillow and a pair of cowboy boots in the vacant (druggie neighbors finally moved) next door.

The now Ex waited until 1 am and went over there with a flashlight and came back telling me to call the cops because there was a person under the blanket.

Turned out to be a homeless drunk the cops were quite familiar with, but I was highly protective of my kids. After having four miscarriages, they were very precious to me.

Anyway, some things can't be undone, so I tried to prevent them from ever happening.
