This is the email I received and there is a link in the email about how they arrived at their support. If the link isn't active I will post separately

Dear Patriot,

Here’s a quick look at the latest political news:

Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund endorses Cruz for President.
After a month-long balloting process in which more almost 100,000 ballots were cast (we invited our entire grassroots network to participate in selecting which candidate we would endorse), Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund reached an endorsement decision. On Saturday night in Sioux City, IA, Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz to be President of the United States.

And because our endorsement is unique – unlike any other endorsement in this political season, ours is the only one that’s the result of a grassroots-driven balloting process with almost 100,000 votes cast – we had six of TPP’s Local Coordinators fly in to Iowa to join Jenny Beth at the endorsement event, so they could share their own perspectives on why Ted Cruz is the right man at the right time.

If you missed the event, you can watch the recorded live stream here. You can also read the speech Jenny Beth Martin delivered, and find additional information about our endorsement process on that page, as well.

Trump, April 15, 2009: ‘I Don’t March with the Tea Party’

NRO
by Jim Geraghty January 19, 2016 9:31 AM

:spns::spns::spns::spns::spns:

Today’s Morning Jolt looks at the rumors surrounding Trump’s “major announcement and special guest.” If you consider Ted Cruz the conservative ideal or near-ideal in terms of philosophical grounding, legal perspective, and ideological rigor – and the case for that seems pretty self-evident – then watching Tea Party leaders flock to Trump over him is pretty damn disappointing. April 15, 2009 is largely seen as the birth date of the Tea Party movement.

Here’s what Trump was saying that day about President Obama:

TRUMP: Well, I think he’s sort of a guy that just has a wonderful personality, a good speaker, somebody that people trust. And I also think that the comparison with his predecessor is so different — it’s so huge that it really has made a great impact on people. I think that he’s really doing a nice job in terms of representation of this country. And he represents such a large part of the country. I mean, to think that a black man was going to be elected president — I watched television for years where the great political analysts were saying maybe in 50, maybe in 100 years. Here’s a man that not only got elected, I think he’s doing a really good job. Now, the sad part is that he can’t just do a good job. He’s got to do a great job. Because if he does a good job, that’s not good enough for this country. That’s how bad the country has become.

KING: Do you assess him as a champion?

TRUMP: Oh, yes, he’s a champion. I mean, he won against all odds. If you would have looked — when he first announced, people were giving him virtually no chance. And he’s just done something that’s amazing.

KING: More on Donald Trump…

TRUMP: He’s totally a champion.

Later in that interview:

KING: You’re not going to march with the tea party?

TRUMP: I don’t march with the tea party. But I’ll tell you what, they have a good point, because when you see the kind of money that this country is — to use a horrible expression, Larry, I know you’ve never heard this — but that this country is pissing away, I can understand where they’re coming from.

Trump went on to defend the TARP bailouts: “If they didn’t stuff the banks with money, we’d be in depression number two right now, Larry. I mean, we would be strongly in depression number two.

So they did the right thing in putting money into the banks.” Trump, the guy who hosted two fundraisers for Charlie Crist in 2009. He donated to Harry Reid over Sharron Angle in 2010.

Trump, the guy who donated $50,000 to make Rahm Emanuel the mayor of Chicago. In the founding days of the Tea Party, Donald Trump was exactly what they were fighting against… and now some of those adherents have embraced him fully.

Tea party patriots, JohnGaltfl, Adele, James Woods, Mark Meadows are in bed with the establishment since they doubt the sincerity and authenticity of The Donald.

'Nuff said.

I read Trumps' book Time To Get Tough written in 2011, and read his positions with direct quotes and sources/links, on the site "On the Issues" (all candidates/political figures, non-partisan site). The idea that Trump has been a liberal all his life and only recently changed (in order to run for office) is utter nonsense. The only positions he has recently (like 15 years ago) changed on his pro-abortion to pro-life, and changed about "assault weapons" ban a few years ago. Other than that, pretty consistent, especially on immigration, trade, national sovereignty, putting more issues for states and not fedgov, veterans, etc.

FIVE years ago.

Well that settles everything!

Thank You!!!!!!

My DD was 13 & could have licked her finger and held it up and seen where the political winds were blowing.

That's not genius.
That's Captain Obvious.

You are being told EXACTLY what you want to hear.
And eating it up.

ENJOY.

Of course he write a book to publish in 2011 with his brand new conservative views. Perfect timing for the 2012 election. What a coincidence!

Well JohnGaltfl and Willow Cruz won Iowa.

I hope you're happy with yourselves now that a Canadian has won Iowa instead of the legit business man that was our last hope to make America great again just like his FANTASTIC hair is great!
Trump ALWAYS has good hair days that's why he's so successful.
I KNOW he would save our country. ....you fools enjoy your little Iowa victory as it's not gonna make America great again!
Assholes.

Edit to randomly insert key words like...establishment. ...rino...astrology. ....shill....tptb......manipulate....conspiracy. ....George Noory. .....MakeAAmerica great again. .....

Naaaa I don't think John is a shill....he's just on the loosing side this time. The primaries have just started.

Buick Electra predicted/wished that TRUMP would loose Iowa....its really no big deal.

Lots can happen before the convention.

One state down and forty nine to go. Not Yuge yet...but a tiny victory is a baby step forward and I am happy.

I watched Trump's speech. He was very gracious. I suspect he didn't have a choice. All that bullying and he still lost. He must be shocked that his strong man tactics didn't work.
