Food Taste of Butter

For years I only bought Kerrygold butter. Its the best I can find. But last year with prices going up I switched to walmart butter for more butter storage. I've still got a few packages of Kerrygold, but not many.

Yesterday I noticed the taste of the walmart butter just isn't the same as Kerrygold. Sometimes I like to put butter in my coffee (bullet proof coffee), but I haven't in awhile. With the cool, cold weather coming on I'm wanting some bullet proof coffee, but I don't like the taste of the walmart butter.

so even though Kerrygold is expensive I'm adding a couple of packages to my grocery list for my coffee.

I can not argue. Some butter is just worthless.

We found the same with home raised eggs. Nothing better!

The walmart butter is okay for cooking but disgusting in my coffee. Right now Kerrygold is 4.18 for half a pound and walmart is 4.48 for a pound.
I’ve never put butter in coffee. How much Kerrygold do you add to a cup?

Land of lakes is what we switched to some time ago. Can’t afford the Kerry gold or others of it’s quality.

We use the stick butter.

When I have done it, I used a thin pat. I use an 18 oz coffee cup. If I felt the need for the extra fat, I would use a full tablespoon, but that would be rare. Start with the pat and see how you like it and adjust. Note: You may fall in love with it. Edited to add: Look up Bullet Proof Coffee to see if it is right with you. If I weren't eating that way, I'm not sure I would do it every day. YMMV.

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
I like Kerry gold, but I find Aldi's butter to be delicious also. I also like Land of the Lakes and Prairie Farms.....of those, I buy what is on sale and generally under $4.00.

I dearly love REAL BUTTER......there is nothing like it for biscuits, toast or yeast rolls/bread!!! Makes me think I have died and gone to heaven!!

I looked at the prices on other butters, including Land o Lakes and the prices are not that much more than walmart butter that is tasteless. I've got my kerrygold for my coffee and I'm going to try some other brands for storage.

Oh yes, the cooler weather is calling for bullet proof coffee. so good and the butter is so healthy.

Recall as a 7 or 8 year old. We lived next to a steak house restaurant. Mom got a job there. I would sneak a thick pad of real butter and crackers as often as I could. Recall those pads of real butter were on a thin but sturdy waxed paper base, then it had a thin layer of just regular wax paper on top. Then on a house roll and some real honey...heaven!

If you have an Aldi nearby, they carry a grass fed Irish generic that is about a dollar less per half pound. Our pitiful taste buds are satisfied.

If its the Kilkeely butter we all use it too

Not sure this is helpful, but coconut oil added to coffee is nice also, and saves $$ in a pinch.
I used coconut oil this morning in my first cup of coffee, it had no taste to it. Thanks for mentioning this, I've been lax about a lot of good things lately. Coconut oil is beneficial for many things and one is memory. Its been proven to help dementia patients regain memory. I'll put butter in my second cup.

I buy what I can afford (Aldi's regular butter unless there's a sale elsewhere). We've only regularly used butter the last few years. Only butter I saw growing up was one pound at Christmas (margarine the rest of the time).
