Has anyone heard "Renegades" by Steve Vaus? Really good. Don't know how to put it here, he isn't big time, was practically banned about ten years ago or more for being too conservative. About like free speech is now.

That would be Don't fear the reaper by Blue Oyster Cult

That thing was my anthem in High School. And my truck had the speakers to pull it off at full throttle.

All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain, we can be like they are

Come on baby, don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand, don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly, don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man,

Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity, Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday, Like Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday, Redefine happiness
Another 40,000 coming everyday, We can be like they are

Come on baby, don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand, don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly, don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on

Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared, saying don't be afraid

Come on baby, and she had no fear
And she ran to him, then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodby, she had become like they are
She had taken his hand, she had become like they are
Come on baby, don't fear the reaper

I had thought of others, but this is what I fear down to the numbers wonder if this is how Custer felt. cant get much worse than this. at least we dont have single shots. but a few M-60,s claymores and lots of barbed wire would make me feel better .

LYRICS:

Here come the priests, each one wailing and bemoaning
Lordy, they got their heads bowed down
Here come the madmen, they're too excited for atoning:
"Burn the mosque, " they're shouting, "Burn it down!"

Save me a place, surround me with friendly faces
All of us have gathered here to share the end
To watch the world go up in flames

Please, Lord we're not ready
Give us a day
Give us an hour

Here come the kings, Let's dispense with their apologizing
Just bring on the acrobats and clowns
Here comes the rumble, Hang on for universal dying
Please ignore the baying of the hounds

Save me a place, surround me with deadly faces
All of us have gathered here to share the end -
To watch the world go up in flames

Please, Lord we're not ready
Give us some time to work things out
Please, Lord we're not ready
Give us a day
Give us an hour
Please, Lord we're not ready
Give us some time to work things out
Please, Lord we're not ready
Give us a day
Give us an hour

LYRICS:

Some of them were dreamers
And some of them were fools
Who were making plans and thinking of the future
With the energy of the innocent
They were gathering the tools
They would need to make their journey back to nature
While the sand slipped through the opening
And their hands reached for the golden ring
With their hearts they turned to each other's hearts for refuge
In the troubled years that came before the deluge

Some of them knew pleasure
And some of them knew pain
And for some of them it was only the moment that mattered
And on the brave and crazy wings of youth
They went flying around in the rain
And their feathers, once so fine, grew torn and tattered
And in the end they traded their tired wings
For the resignation that living brings
And exchanged love's bright and fragile glow
For the glitter and the rouge
And in a moment they were swept before the deluge

Let the music keep our spirits high
Let the buildings keep our children dry
Let creation reveal its secrets by and by, by and by
When the light that's lost within us reaches the sky

Some of them were angry
At the way the earth was abused
By the men who learned how to forge her beauty into power
And they struggled to protect her from them
Only to be confused
By the magnitude of her fury in the final hour
And when the sand was gone and the time arrived
In the naked dawn only a few survived
And in attempts to understand a thing so simple and so huge
Believed that they were meant to live after the deluge

Let the music keep our spirits high
Let the buildings keep our children dry
Let creation reveal it's secrets by and by, by and by
When the light that's lost within us reaches the sky

Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got;
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?

All those night when you've got no lights,
The check is in the mail;
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by it's tail;
And your third fiance didn't show;

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to be where you can see,
Our troubles are all the same;
You want to be where everybody knows your name.

Roll out of bed, Mr. Coffee's dead;
The morning's looking bright;
And your shrink ran off to Europe,
And didn't even write;
And your husband wants to be a girl;
Be glad there's one place in the world

Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to go where people know,
People are all the same;
You want to go where everybody knows your name.
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came...

LYRICS

Early one morning shattering life in the face
The finest creative loss of grace
At a parlorshop with no hope
Meet the people try to cope
Nod the head with distraction
Faces flirt for your reaction
With a grin over again
Start the day another's whim
Nice nightmare she's a sleeping beast
Life's endear anguish is your feast
Nice nightmare she's a sleeping beast
Life's endear anguish is your feast
Frighten the peaceful powerless thought in the head
With decree attorney singe my dread
In the darkness know it well
Siege of faces love to tell
How and why its indecision
Notice change by shapeshifting from the real
Sacred seal rip with sex intelligent sneer
Resist the useless aggravation kicked in teeth
The blankness created forms a wreath
Slap the coffin hear no shout
Feel the courage seeping out
Plunge the knife with no reason
Slash the name within season
Slump retreat run again
Ride the pain going insane
Nice nightmare she's a sleeping beast
Life's endear anguish is your feast
Nice nightmare she's a sleeping beast
Life's endear anguish is your feast
[BACKWARDS: Skinny Puppy is dangerously feared]x3
Nice nightmare she's a sleeping beast
Life's endear anguish is your feast
Very same morning shattering life in the face
The finest creative loss of grace
Find the truth far to down
Bring it up sense will drown
Inside review sense elation
Can't regain the motivation
Piercing probing is disturbing
Prove to me I'm not worth knowing
Nice nightmare she's a sleeping beast
Life's endear anguish is your feast
Nice nightmare she's a sleeping beast
Life's endear anguish is your feast
Now you know
It's time to die here
Your son buries this

Lyrics in English

Day by day, year by year
When I walk through the streets
I see the ruins of this city
Arise to houses again

But many windows stay empty
For many there's no return
And about the things that have just been
One does rather not talk about today anymore

But I ask, I ask myself who we are
We are ourselves! We stand here!
Divided, defeated and still
We are yet alive

We are ourselves! We stand here!
That could not yet be everything
No time to be sad
We are ourselves! We stand here!
We are ourselves!

Arisen from ruins we thought
We had made a dream come true
40 years we pulled together
Out of ashes we've made gold

Now everything is different once again
And what existed before, is not worth anything today
Now we can have what we want
But didn't we actually want more?

We are ourselves! We stand here!
Again united in one country
Superrich and completely broke

We are ourselves! We stand here!
So fast nobody can defeat us
No time to feel bitter

We are ourselves
Divided, defeated and still
We exist
We are ourselves
And we'll survive it
Because life has to go on
We are ourselves
That's just some kind of back luck
So fast we'll not give up now

Corb Lund - Gettin' Down on the Mountain (Online Exclusive)

Gettin’ Down on the Mountain

When the oil stops, everything stops, nothin' left in the fountain
Nobody wants paper money, son, so you just as well stop countin'
Can you break the horse, can you light the fire?
What's that, I beg your pardon?
You'd best start thinkin' where your food comes from and I hope you tend a good garden

Gettin' down on the mountain, gettin' down on the mountain
Don't wanna be around when the shit goes down
I'll be gettin' down on the mountain

When the trucks don't run, the bread won't come, have a hard time findin' petrol
Water ain't runnin' in the city no more, do you hold any precious metal?
Can you gut the fish, can you read the sky?
What's that about overcrowdin'?
You ever seen a man who's kids ain't ate for seventeen days and countin'?

Gettin' down on the mountain, gettin' down on the mountain
Don't wanna be around when the shit goes down
I'll be gettin' down on the mountain

There ain't no heat and the power's gone out, it's kerosene lamps and candles
The roads are blocked, it's all gridlocked, you got a shortwave handle?
Can you track the deer, can you dig the well?
I couldn't quite hear your answer
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Gettin' down on the mountain, gettin' down on the mountain
Don't wanna be around when the shit goes down
I'll be gettin' down on the mountain, goin' to ground on the mountain

When the oil stops, everything stops, nothin' left in the fountain
Nobody wants paper money, son, so you just as well stop countin'
Can you break the horse, can you light the fire?
What's that, I beg your pardon?
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you pass the ammo?

Gettin' down on the mountain, gettin' down on the mountain
Don't wanna be around when the shit goes down
I'll be gettin' down on the mountain

Gettin' down on the mountain, gettin' down on the mountain
Don't wanna be around when the shit goes down
I'll be goin' to ground on the mountain, gettin' down on the mountain

Johnny Cash - Goin' By The Book

You can see it in the movies and the paper and the TV news
Somebody's army is always on the move
There's gonna be a battle the lines have been drawn
They got guns and tanks and planes

The wells are gone dry and the water is bad and the air is acid rain
There's war after war and rumors of war from the East
There's a rumblin' in the ground and they're talkin' about the beast

Good mothers cry 'cause the rivers run high
With the blood of too many sons
Some people say peace is on the way
But the worst is still to come

'Cause the prophets wrote about it
And Jesus spoke about it
And John got to take a look
And he told us what he saw when it's easy to see
It's goin' by the book
It's goin' by the book

There's armies in the cities and the missiles stand ready for flight
A pale horse rides like the wind across the night
And that rumblin' in the desert like thunder gettin' closer
Are the trumpet's gettin' ready to blow
There's gonna be a shout that will wake the dead
We better be ready to go

'Cause the prophets wrote about it
And Jesus spoke about it
And John got to take a look
And he told us what he saw when it's easy to see
It's goin' by the book
It's goin' by the book
