ORLANDO, Fla. -- Eyewitness News has learned of Orlando's first confirmed case of swine flu. According to the chief medical officer for Adventist Health System, Loran Hauck, the case was diagnosed Tuesday morning.

"A case was diagnosed here in Orlando today on a tourist from Mexico who came to Disney attractions two days ago to visit," Hauck wrote in an email obtained by Eyewitness News.

No further details have been released, but Eyewitness News is working to learn specifically what days the tourist was at the parks and which park the tourist went to.

Details about the tourist, beyond being from Mexico, have not been released.

Welcome to Pandemicland.
I hoped that this could be contained, or was not as bad as it first appeared.
This does not seem to be the case. The best real science people are saying they have not seen anything like this, it is very communicable, has the capacity to change further, and has basically got out of the box.
I am expecting major economic effects now. I expect them to appear shortly.
So hows Disney stock doing today?

I just don't get it . . . at a quick glance (from someone like myself who may not be directly schooled in the science of population flow and such) it just makes so much sense to CLOSE THE BORDERS!!! It seems to me that this one act alone could solve MANY of our problems . . . this swine flu issue included!

grrrrrrrrr :mad::mad::mad:

God has a plan, Trust it!
Lets see, Spring Break week + Disney = Disaster!

There had to be over a million people between the parks total.

Office manager/part owner of our company was there all last week with her grandkids. She brought me back the cutest refrigerator magnet of Mickey Mouse holding thermometer.

Damn!!!

DH's boss booked a cruise ship trip for this week and, unbelievably, still plans on leaving this Friday.

The DGI's are in real trouble with this thing......

If it hits Disneyland/Anaheim... :shkr: because that's where I was this past weekend when all the news started breaking about this swine flu! I was looking at my twitter account- with Breaking News (BNO) posting every 2 minutes about more and more cases- in sheer horror.

I had fun at Disneyland, though...

Modern life is full of mobs of thousands who mingle then travel to all distant points.

There's no chance anymore of containing this, but they could still limit it.

But they haven't taken all necessary precautions because of the almighty dollar, finances, economy -- the whole world over.

They should have frozen everything into place last Thursday. Just stopped the world, forgiven moratorium on commerce. But they want to drastically reduce the populess. Less and less populations.

Now we wait and see how this thing mutates once it gets ahold of millions of humanimals, with virulent bird flu out there also in the wings.

OK so far, the cases in the US have been from Americans visiting Mexico and bringing the virus back. These cases have been mild and so far not fatal probably because the virus can't survive beyond two carriers. Now with a Mexican (straight from Mexico) bringing the virus here, does that bring the deadly string here? Just thinking.....

How are the three little pigs? are they ok?

Not any more, I just had them over for dinner last night. They cooked up right nice. Now I am loaded with pre-cooked and flash frozen bacon, ribs and ham, and the rest got spit cooked again for my kids.

Sincerely,
