Hmmm, a new way to control the population problem in China?

If it hits mainland China there will be no way to control the spread and it will only be a matter of time before it hit here in CONUS.

If this case proves to be a true Ebloa. Big problems with someone half way around the World in a major trade center as Hong kong. I suspect we could be getting close to a World wide panic here before and if Ebola takes off or not. The panic will cause country's to shut down international trade. Now what would that do to the economy's??? I would not doubt the Worlds stock exchanges could go into panic mode if the people go into panic mode.

Doesn't have to hit mainland China.

Hong Kong is one of the busiest airports in the world (both passengers and cargo) and Hong Kong has a population density of 6,500+ per sq km. Cat, bag-torn; genie, bottle-broke.

Atlanta suddenly became the least of our worries, if this is true.

Good, Now lets send all the friggin Indians that are here on H1B visa and taking over the computer industry back home.
When I was working and I had to meet a new arrival indian and shake his limp cold virus laden hand, I would almost puke.
I would run to the bathroom to wash my hands.
Less than 10 miles outside any major city in India is a third world crap hole.
They have a few strains of anti biotic resistant bacteria over there. And who knows what they are bringing over here from what ever they do with cows and other critters.

Phillippines reports possible Ebola

I thought Id stick this in the 'rumor' thread of where ebola might be spreading.

There is no mention of how these 7 people returned home. Did they return in full suits like the US person, or did they hop on a flight.

The Phillipines has reported the country's first suspected cases of the Ebola virus. According to the country's health officials, seven workers who returned to the Phillipines from Sierra Leone are showing symptoms similar to that of the tropical virus.

MANILA: The Philippines said on Friday (August 1) that people arriving from west African countries hit by the Ebola outbreak would be monitored for a month to prevent the virus spreading to the Asian nation.

Manila last month imposed a ban on travel to Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone amid the world's worst ever outbreak of the tropical virus, while the health ministry announced extra measures on Friday. "We have to be proactive. We know that the threat is there, and we do not want any surprises," health ministry spokesman Lyndon Leesuy told a news conference.

Filipinos returning from the three outbreak countries, as well as visitors from those nations, would be screened at Philippine airports and their health status monitored daily for a month after their arrival, he added. The health ministry said 20 Filipino workers who returned from Sierra Leone in June and July were put under this regime by health officials.

Hospital facilities have been prepared to admit any who would develop Ebola symptoms, it said in a statement, while stressing the country remained free of the deadly virus.

The foreign department said there were 3,491 Filipinos working in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone when the travel ban was imposed on July 4. They are among an estimated 10 million Filipinos who work abroad.

Meanwhile, Lebanon's labour ministry said it has suspended the issuance of work permits to residents of several African countries hit by an outbreak of the Ebola virus.

In a statement carried by Lebanon's National News Agency, the ministry said that "as a result of fears about public health and to prevent an Ebola epidemic, the labour ministry is no longer receiving work permit requests from residents of Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia". An official at the ministry told AFP that the number of workers affected by the measures was limited and the decision was taken as "a precautionary measure".

There is no vaccine for the highly-contagious disease, and the current outbreak has claimed nearly 730 lives and infected more than 1,300 people since the beginning of the year.

Ebola causes severe muscular pains, fever, headaches and, in the worst cases, unstoppable bleeding. It has killed around two-thirds of those it has infected since its emergence in 1976, although the death rate in the current outbreak is lower, at 55 percent.

The three west African countries are struggling to contain an epidemic that has infected more than 1,300 people since the start of the year, hit major cities and sparked alarm over its possible spread to other nations.

The World Health Organisation said the death toll had risen by 57 to 729 on Thursday, announcing that 122 new cases had been detected between Thursday and Sunday last week.

Here is the link to a map with updated ebola information.

http://healthmap.org/ebola/

There was an Ebola scare in March of this year a man named Rod Ogilvie came back from an Ebola infected area very ill with Ebola like symptoms. He went home to Canada. They quickly told the world he was negative for Ebola, put him in isolation in a negative pressure room.

They never told the world what he had but they did a lot of tests for hemorrhagic like diseases. He died.

I can't help but wonder if we are getting the truth. With a disease that has up to 21 days incubation, we have to have the truth. I was trying to research whether there could be false negatives with this test. I don't know the answer, but something very Ebola like killed that man and now something very Ebola like is showing up in quite a few places. :shk:
