Has No Life - Lives on TB
Some of you may recall that cooking is one of my hobbies. I recently came across this interesting chicken recipe on YouTube (runtime about 3:30) and decided to try it today. DW gave the finished product a 9 on our personal ten scale, so I think you'll enjoy it too! It's easy and not very expensive. The only slightly uncommon ingredients are oyster sauce and lemon grass.
I did make a couple of changes, which I'll note below:
A.) For religious reasons DW does not eat shellfish (or shellfish products) so I substituted vegetarian oyster sauce for the real thing. It was still extremely good, but I think real oyster sauce would've taken it up a notch.
B.) The stock/sauce - which is based on the soft drink Sprite - did not reduce enough for my tastes and was too thin at the end of the cooking time. After I removed the chicken, I brought the sauce back up to a low boil and added corn starch to thicken it. That worked a treat!
