Subway’s tuna sandwiches found to contain no tuna fish DNA, lab tests find following lawsuit
Aaa-ha! Now I'm understanding the Jimmy John's commercials claiming there is real tuna in their tuna fish!

There must be a butt load of salt in Subway "meats". Every time I have eaten there, all I want to do afterward is drink water.

I'll try adding boiled eggs next time. sounds interesting.

As a post script; As a genuine American male, I'm addicted to food, "Thank you".

You could add finely diced celery, onion, and apple as well to stretch that can of tuna.

My tuna salad is made with tuna, chopped hard boiled eggs, chopped onion, chopped celery, sweet pickle relish, all mixed with a bit of black pepper and just enough mayo to make it sorta creamy. Cary doesn't like a lot of mayo. We've eaten it with chopped apples included, but don't care for it much, not on a sandwich anyway.

We both like their cold cut trio, at least I realize that cold cuts are crap, DH does not. We don't eat there very often and the last time we did they no longer have the bread I liked. So I asked for wheat but it tasted like white, which I don't like. I'm not interested in eating there anymore. And they no longer carry spicey mustard either.

I've seen ads in the past about their wonderful fresh chicken and the fresh chicken is not fresh, its processed. Blah.

Seems like I remember a few years back, it was found out
that their bread, contained some kind of an ingredient,
that was similar to rubber, used to make floor mats.

Now finding out that, there doesn't appear to be any
tuna fish in their sandwiches, does not surprise me.

There was a Subway, that was next to where I worked at
in North Raleigh, and I usually would go there for lunch
with some of my co-workers. I remember how weird the
sandwiches were even back then. This was at least
15 years ago, and I haven't been in one since then.

I remember Several months back there was a lawsuit in Ireland, I believe that Subway’s bread is not actually bread. Too much sugar in it to be considered bread.

When I make it, I use Miracle Whip, sweet pickle relish, and cut up boiled eggs.

add a bit of sliced up onions.....add a bit of mustard ........ the ladies are right.....albacore is where it is at...... while we can or choose not to help the over fishing problem....... (that s the friggin chinese)......

And that is why I rarely eat out...ANYWHERE!! 99% of the time I can make it better and I know EXACTLY what is in it.

Having traveled around the world in the navy for over two decades and my dear wife's travel through out Europe, we love dinning on cuisine from all around the world. In order to do so we have A LOT of cook books and specialized tools to cook whatever we're in the mood for. Could be from anywhere in the world on any given night; Italian, Greek, Caribbean, French, Filipino, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Irish, French, Finnish, Argentine, Mexican, Spanish, Middle Eastern....etc., etc., etc., and good ol' American Midwestern down home farm food! (From my mom's cooking)

There are a few local Mom & Pop places that we will visit from time to time, but forget franchises and mass produced crap!

You are what you eat. Eat crap and that's what you get!

I have gotten so many bags of apples from the Farmers to Families program, that now - even though the program ended a month ago - I am still inundated with apples.

So I have been making applesauce.

And one of the things I have been doing with all that applesauce is using it in the tuna fish, instead of mayo or ranch dressing.

It is very good that way - better than using the mayo...

Subway "sandwich artist" - my first job in high school. For a 16-year-old - being able to take home a sub at the end of your shift was a cool deal. (My family didn't do a whole lot of fast food.) I never had any reason to suspect the quality of the food, but I was young... After I moved on, it was another 10 years before I could go into a store and order. Eating one that was given to me was not a problem, just couldn't stand to go into a shop and watch someone else make the food...

Having said that - tuna is not high on my list of items to order (but I would). It's processed lunch meat - it's going to be high in sodium and preservatives... I accept that and deal with it. Never gotten sick from eating at Subway or any other fast food place.

Oh - and that Soylent "food product" that someone else posted about - I've seen it for sale at grocery stores in the Indianapolis area (also in Columbus, OH before we moved). That is one product I don't think I could ever try...

O my. I never ate tuna there, but now I really really want a chef's salad with tuna.
:jstr:..but it will be a good long while before I indulge, fearing a "mixture of concoctions"
 
Once had, at a local restaurant, something that was suppose to be chicken salad, but was suspiciously like tuna. I opined that perhaps the ESL cook had opened a can of Chicken of the Sea...

We'll probably learn that Subway has a product called 'Subwaytuna' that is some sort of cheap fish mash but not real tuna fish.

When I'm desperate I will eat at Subway, coincidentally the ONLY thing I will eat there is "tuna with some onions on white bread" It's true, what can I say?
