In January several fire crews were called to a massive fire that occurred at an egg farm in Bozrah, Connecticut.

The fire occurred at Hillandale Farms located on Schwartz Road.

The Colchester Fire Department told the press at the time that the large scale fire has even caused water issues and more water tankers are being called to the scene.

Another 1.1 million chickens were killed at an Iowa egg farm due to bird flue in November.

There is an egg shortage in America today – and it’s about to get worse.

Now this…

A new study published at the National Library of Medicine found that chemicals in egg yolks were effective in blocking the COVID virus in the body.

Neither here nor there.
Friend called me this morning to ask how my chickens were doing. He has raised plenty of birds himself but got out of it last year. Told me he just paid $10 for a dozen at a Kroger owned store.

OC bought a dozen free range organic eggs at the local co-op for $4, a dozen of non organic eggs at Aldi was $4.19

A dozen pasture raised eggs are running a bit over $9 here in the SF Bay Area. DH is grumbling...he doesn't eat many, I do, and I want the pasture raised eggs, which are pricier.

It'd be interesting to know if duck egg yolks have similar properties.

We’re hoping to increase our flock to around 40. Around here everyone has enough eggs to practically give them away. The irony is all this chicken death and sky high egg prices are only going to screw the city folks who by in large are liberals. The city folks will be eaten the bugs long before us conservative country folk.

Here, we purified anti-spike-S1 IgYs from hens that were immunized with the S1 domain of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and interrogated their ability to neutralize SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus using Hela cells with overexpressed human ACE2.

It appears that the eggs are coming from vaccinated hens.
