RACE WAR St. Louis Couple Introduces their guns to BLM

This couple stood their ground defending their property. How many keyboard warriors would do the same?
I realize they have dangerous firearm handling skills, I imagine today they've been contacted by many criticizing or offering to instruct them, hope it's more encouragement & knowledge than negative.
They weren't on a range, I've corrected newbies on the range myself. No one respects firearms more than me.
I don't recall there being any caveat in the 2nd Amendment about training or tests being prerequisite for bearing arms, living in freedom has it's difficulties.
I still commend them for having the guts to stand up.
No shit they weren't on a range. That's why they needed to be even more careful. People who own firearms should respect them enough to learn how to safely use them...through their actions those two have shown that they were either not trained...or if they were trained, they should immediately ask for their money back. That's why they are dumb asses.

Effectively using a firearm requires training and repetition to avoid mishaps...under stress (physical or mental) your body does all sorts of crazy things...that's why you need to train and practice so using a firearms becomes second nature.

I also commend them for defending their home...albeit I would have done it differently, but I have 20 years as a military vet and a few years in combat zones to help me out there.

Of course the 2nd Amendment doesn't require any type of training but you have to consider that back then people used firearms as tools and had a much greater familiarity with them...today people lack that familiarity and if you didn't grow up around guns, or serve in the military or LE you really should (not must) receive training and practice, practice, practice...

Another thing to consider...they've also just told the world they keep those particular firearms in that house...and with the article about their renovation they just potentially made themselves a target of theft.

Sigs. I've shot them and generally like them. I just can't keep up with all their changes and models now.
I've shot Sigs for 25 years and they just fit me well...I prefer their their steel frame models (220/225/226/229). It took me a 50 rounds a week for a good 3 months to get the grip ergonomics down on my G19. Now I can draw and shoot it pretty instinctively. I alternate the P238 and the G19 during my trip to the range every other week.

It’ll be a real shame when it gets firebombed.
I'm not sure about that after reading the last line of the 'statement' put forth by their attorney. I guess they figure they can have it both ways and believe that appeasement does actually work. The event must not have been violent enough to cause any lasting change of liberal mindset.

And now, they are going after the couple.

I have no idea what they laws are in STL, but waving a firearm around like that might get them into hot water. Remaining calm and not flailing around would probably have served them better.

I'll be very surprised if they aren't eventually charged with something (warranted or not).

if they broke thru a gate why isnt that tresspassing, illegal entry, destruction of property? seems to me the couple had a rgith to take a defensive stance considering hoe violent the 'protestors' become when they dont get their way. the couple had every right to believe they were in danger and expect violence from the 300 protestors who tore down the gate to private property and swarmed in.

any video of the ones who tore down the gate? facial recognition? any arrests gonna happen Mr DA?

I think the most interesting point of this particular incident is that it clearly highlights the Potemkin village that most Elites live when it comes to their safety in current society.

Here is a clearly very rich couple and they are out on their own lawn, barefoot, with guns trying to defend their own home. Where are the police, where are the private security, why are they so slow on the uptake - this unrest has been building for a long time now.

The mob if they wanted to could have torn these two to pieces in under 60 seconds and those guns would not have helped them at all - like shooting a 22 at a Grizzly, yeah you might get lucky but thats not the best way to bet.

RICH people seem to think they can support and virtue signal all they want, and somehow they are going to get off scotfree. LOL Not a chance Karen.

Those of us who are not as well off, but KNOW the score and don't have as much to offer to the mob are in far FAR better shape then these two.

Money, and especially the kind of conspicuous consumption this couple engaged in, in a Fourth Turning crisis makes you a GIANT target.

Anyone else see that Elon Musk announced a few weeks ago he was selling all his big money real estate (6 homes in Beverly Hills) and then last week the mob paraded thru BH yelling 'EAT THE RICH'

Old Elon knows the score.

It's all changed and it is ALL coming apart at the seams.

Haha, Yeah...the article I linked to above talked about that gate. In and of itself an historical artifact - recently restored.

My bet it that there is now 24/7 professional security guarding the property. Hell....given the value of the house and historical contents, it's virtually a museum, and their insurance company is probably insisting on it.

"protesters broke down a gate" except for that they are just law-abiding citizens out for a stroll.

Well that took a little longer than I thought it would....

What would be an appropriate show of force without “brandishing” or “assaulting” the little darlings? She appeared to be out of line, finger on trigger and kinda aiming. Pistol in holster and visible, long gun slung over shoulder, but not holding it in a usable manner?

I flip out when someone sweeps a muzzle toward me. I had a good friend shoot me in the forearm with a .22 when I was 16, it was winter time and I was wearing a thermal undershirt and a flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled up along with a Military field jacket. The bullet hit right where the shirt was rolled up and slowed the bullet enough that it stopped on the bone.
I looked at my buddy and asked why did you shoot me and he just shrugged his shoulders I quickly pulled off my Jacket and found where the bullet went in pulled my pocket knife out and dug the bullet out when the slug hit the floor I snapped one hit to his jaw he was out. I ripped off his pants and was in the process of shoving the gun up his ass when his Dad ran into the room wanting to know what had happened . I told him the SOB shot me and I was going to ram the rifle up his ass.
His Dad stopped me , told me I couldn't do that. 10 more seconds and it would have been Done.

I'm real careful with who has a loaded gun around me.

Suppose it depends on local ordinances...

While I strongly agree with and support the couple, that was some piss poor weapons handling.
Has it crossed anyone's mind that these folks might be liberal to the core but have the ability to recognize danger when they see it. Response from these 'folks' will always be inappropriate and based upon feelz. You can see that more so from the Mrs. than from hubby. Self preservation is buried deep in all of us, but those who don't practice the art of self preservation and have a realistic world view often come across like was presented here. It's nice though that they rapidly fell back into the fold and support BLM 'n sh#t.

She would've been banned from the shooting range here for that...but I'd be happy to have her in my neighborhood. Should have definitely had quick access to more ammo - but I have to say that they did have the right mindset. I love it here in the country but we are not immune - we have to keep our eyes and ears open. We have to be ready for what is coming. Don't back down (I know that sounds easier that is actually is) - be sharp and be ready.

I need some more range time......

Mark brought a spare mag in his front left pocket ant that protestor had a boom mic on a camera — not a weapon

In times past when I’ve been at a gun store trying out pistols, one of the things I do is raise it to shooting position and acquire a sight picture. Naturally both the shopkeeper and myself have verified it’s empty. I make sure that i point it toward an unoccupied corner of the store, and not near anyone. And it still bothers me.

These two are the poster children for irresponsible gun ownership. Now finding out (allegedly) that they are liberals is sadly hilarious...

So how many of you still want these ’gun totin’, MAGA hat wearin’ patriots as neighbors? These folks are “your betters” since they are of the liberal persuasion. They will repent and receive salvation by the media by saying how easy it was for them to get the guns, and that they shouldn’t have been able to, and that your rights should be restricted. Remember, they know better than you...

I told you they were dumb asses

It would have been better to have had one person filming and recording the protestors, that way if something had happened, they would have their own footage to back it up!

The way I have read the description of the situation, the protestors broke down a gate and were marching in a private neighborhood, on a private road...

Where were the police and why weren't they moved along out of the neighborhood?

Not being from Missouri, I don't know the laws. In Texas, I believe the lady could be charged with "brandishing", which is not legal.

They should have all been arrested for criminal trespass.

Talk is cheap
There needs to be immediate fortification of the gates and fence. Prayers said for the innocent residents in that community, including those attorneys. There should be immediate charges of disorderly conduct and trespassing for each of the invaders. And that is not racist.

If I were on the receiving end I would fear an obviously nervous, inept gunhandler to an experten.
Accidents you know.

Well, under the circumstances, I do not blame the couple. I would only disagree with their equipment ( wifes little pistol, no spare mags) ( husbands lack of spare mags ). Like some, I have to question where were the police ?? Since none, homeowners have every right to defend themselves & their property !!

I would bet that as this plague of " peaceful protestors / thugs / bullies " spreads around the country, you will see more homeowners doing exactly the same !!! This couple are obviously white collar / professional types. Sooner or later, the looters will confront some that are of Irish / Scotch ancestry that will not be as " nice " as this couple.

I must say I am rather surprised that some have made comments that seem to take sides with the " peaceful protestors " and against the couple defending their property !!! YMMV

I'm afraid they are still under the paradigm that we should place fair with those people in hopes they will be fair with us. But I'm afraid that those on this Board who write that those people won't be happy until people like us are either in camps or dead aren't wrong.

Lots of states have a law that is called "brandishing".... Basically in my state if you display a weapon in a "rude or threatening manner".

A family friend (an idiot) of my age got popped for this. He felt a trucker on the freeway cut him off. He had a .22 rifle inside his vehicle, so he pulled up next to trucker, picked up the gun and shook the rifle in the air (inside his vehicle) Trucker got on his CB (no such thing as Cell phones then) and others called the police.
Busted.

Yeah - BUT. And here's the but:

Two rich, white people dared to stand up to the terrorists. That MUST BE PUNISHED. I predict that within a week, another BLM/Antifa group WILL storm the house. And this time, they'll be armed and ready. AND they'll firebomb the house.

You heard it here first.

I don't doubt they will. But what are the chances of the MSM actually reporting it?
