That was my first thought also. I mean, sure, I applaud them, do doubt, but especially in a crap hole city like St. Louis, have a mag-bag or vest...full load out. Same with the wife, although I’d likely have the wife up high on Overwatch!

I can't disagree with that - and - were it to happen here we'd be kitted out properly as too. that being said - I can guarantee that NONE of the peeps on the street wanted to chance it would be their ass absorbing that injectable Pb

Well, even with their poor firearm handling and lack of obvious training.....IT WAS A TARGET RICH ENVIRONMENT!! And despite their obvious inexperience they could have significantly thinned the herd and taught the "herd" a very significant lesson.....Don't Scare The White People!! Especially if they are ARMED!!

Here's my problem with this story:

The husband only had ONE MAG. The wife only had what looks like a .380 pistol with no extra mags.

ELOI.

Had that been me, I'd have had a chest pouch with 8 extra mags, and my wife would have been armed the same as me. That'd be 540 rds.

"Come and take it" indeed.

no immediate access to any solid protection either - standing in the wide open and nothing even close to ducking behind >>> need a landscaper to come by and get creative - good chance this isn't over !!!!!!

Yes, I would agree, very good chance this is NOT over !!!!!!

Homeowners there better be making plans & preparations !!!

Also, good chance that when BLM comes back, the local democrat govt will send the cops to run inteferance for BLM, and will arrest the homeowners for "being mean" to the poor downtrodden abused minorities. I have a cousin and her two daughters that live in a suburb of STL. I really feel sorry for them !!!!

The couple needs to keep adequate foot gear handy, ready to put on quickly. Husband needs a belt with pistol, spare pistol mags. Also a carrier for spare mags for his long gun.

They both need to learn to better use available cover.

Wife needs to have larger cal pistol, carried in holster, with spare mags. For primary weapon, Wife needs to have a good shotgun, with extended tube mag, and a 50 rd bandoleer . Maybe first round in chamber be a "dragons breath ". That would scare the hell out of the thugs.

Or, maybe the wife needs a good scoped long gun, from an elevate position, as over watch.

They both got by lucky this first go round !!

I wish them well !!!!

Mo Castle Doctrine? You have to let the guy into your house, prove he has malice aforethought and felonious intent against your person or that of some other for which you have responsibility and then and only then you can hose them down with your Schmeisser?

Well, I guess that is better than Common Law which says you have to retreat if possible.

He needed a shotgun with 00 buck. She needed THE JUDGE loaded with 410 birdshot.
Both parties needed to be in a covered position
so they wouldn't be vulnerable to random gunfire from the pack.

I’m just here for the gasoline...
Man, I love my S&W M&P Shield, in 9mm. It's just a solid pistol and I shoot very well with it. Same with Glock 19. Just great carry pieces.
My primary carry in the summer is my Sig P238 in .380...nice and light and can fit in a pocket. During colder weather it's either my Glock 19 or Sig P225 or 229. Occasionally I'll go old school with my Hi Power or a 1911...

From what I've read (somewhere) they were in the middle of dinner when this shit-show broke through. Pretty much a grab and go situation for them. I give them credit for being ballsy even if they weren't smart.

That lady needs to spend more time under supervision with her (obvious) purse gun though and learn not to point it at her husband.

Simply re-watching the video should be enough to make her lose her lunch.

So what? The threat was stopped no matter their level or lack of training.
Uh...because they'd be more likely to hurt anything or anybody but the threat (including themselves) looking at their muzzle discipline.

Look at how many times they flash each other with the business end of their firearm...

I've barked at more than one irresponsible newb at the range flashing everybody with their muzzle. Guns are to be respected...

... and I used to be concerned about 00 buck patterning and getting the occasional flyers and potential to hit innocent bystanders. Now, not so much... the wider the horizontal spread the better.

So far every projectile still has a lawyer in tow. But ... in the barrel box, there is an 18" 870 barrel with one of these -

It was called the A&W Diverter, an outgrowth/refinement of the Vietnam era 'duckbill' spreader. IIRC there is a more modern equivalent still out there.

PS - use #4 buck for best results.

These people just experienced their first confrontation ever. I'll give them kudos for being minutemen. They will learn a lot from this experience.

This couple stood their ground defending their property. How many keyboard warriors would do the same?
I realize they have dangerous firearm handling skills, I imagine today they've been contacted by many criticizing or offering to instruct them, hope it's more encouragement & knowledge than negative.
They weren't on a range, I've corrected newbies on the range myself. No one respects firearms more than me.
I don't recall there being any caveat in the 2nd Amendment about training or tests being prerequisite for bearing arms, living in freedom has it's difficulties.
I still commend them for having the guts to stand up.

Every soldier, cop and most most gun owners knows that sweeping your buds is almost impossible to prevent during training or actual combat. Almost. Especially Harry Homeowner and his highly excited wife. Some here have noted that they did not in fact get their ass's kicked, or worse, so, their plan - such as it is - worked.

Muzzle sweep
It's when you carelessly aim your gun in someone's direction without intentionally meaning to do so. Newbie gun owners are often at fault of this, but also when people unholster a firearm they can make the same mistake unknowingly. Muzzle sweeping is violating the second rule of firearm safety.

You can bank on one thing though, after they realize just how bad things looked, they will up their game in one way or another.

One other thing. Let's just say that Rufus did take a 5.56 to the head. When his buddies see his brains scattered all over the pavement, how many here think his friends rush the homeowners?

Also, this.

I wondered when that would come up. The fact that the "peaceful demonstrators" were in trespass (private street) is irrelevant. What is relevant is that a householder had the gall to defend his property and that is not to be allowed. People might catch on and then next thing you know BLM is out of business because they just caught on it is too dangerous when a bunch of them got shot down burning and looting.

I'm very conflicted.

Lawyers vs. Thugs.

Which side am I supposed to root for on this one??

In this case I would actually support the lawyers since they most likely have sufficient resources (money, connections, etc) to be able to to defend themselves successfully against any BS charges, thereby establishing precedent for the rest of the folks of Missouri that doing what they did is okay.

I think it was on Zero Hedge, they showed pictures of the inside of the house. Those two worked their fannies off to restore it beautifully. They have a lot invested in the place...not only money, but love, sweat and blood.

Obvious in the way they reacted when it was threatened.

Here's the article on the house. The photos are worth the trip.

That is a directional microphone

Yea

When I first saw the photos and read the narrative, I said what about the black guy with red string bag?

A closer look shows a viewing screen and what I thought was a vent shroud was actually a directional mic.

Looking in from the crowd looks a lot different than looking out from the porch. Anything black, long, held in one's hand and pointed at me (anything above the waist level at least) will be considered to be a firearm until proven otherwise.

St. Louis Homeowner Speaks Out After Confronting BLM Militants with Firearm, ‘The Only Thing That Stopped the Mob Was my Rifle’ (VIDEO)

St. Louis homeowner Mark McCloskey spoke out in his first on-camera interview since he confronted Black Lives Matter militants who broke through a gate onto a private street in his neighborhood.
A livestream of the militant mob clearly shows they entered through a gate into a private community.
In this livestream footage you can clearly see the STL black lives matter mob entered through the gate to a private community. This was not a public sidewalk. https://t.co/NeKHgTBWEu pic.twitter.com/UdYq3pGtlb

Mr. McCloskey explained during his on-camera interview on Monday that he announced to the Marxist mob that they were on private property and that’s when they became enraged.
“We came back to the house. I don’t know what time it is, I’ve been up ever since. I’m a little, I’m a little blurry, but we were preparing dinner. We went out to the east patio, open porch that faces Kingshighway on one side and Portland Place Drive on the south, and we’re sitting down for dinner. We heard all this stuff going on down on Maryland Plaza. And then the mob started to move up Kingshighway, but it got parallel with the Kingshighway gate on Portland Place,” Mark McCloseky said.
“Somebody forced the gate, and I stood up and announced that this is private property. Go back. I can’t remember in detail anymore. I went inside, I got a rifle. And when they … because as soon as I said this is private property, those words enraged the crowd,” he said.
McClosky said one of the militants pulled out a loaded pistol magazine and clicked them together and said ‘you’re next.’
“We were threatened with our lives, threatened with a house being burned down, my office building being burned down, even our dog’s life being threatened. It was, it was about as bad as it can get,” McCloskey said.
McCloskey believes that the only thing that stopped the crowd from approaching his home was his rifle.

“Everything inside the Portland Place gate is private property. There is nothing public in Portland Place. Being inside that gate is like being in my living room. There is no public anything in Portland Place,” he said.

Sigs. I've shot them and generally like them. I just can't keep up with all their changes and models now.
