Something strange is coming from Quarter Arcades, as it’s been revealed that Data East’s The Real Ghostbusters will be made available as a 1:4 scale arcade cabinet!

The news comes from Darren Brown, product manager at Numskull Designs, Quarter Arcades’ parent company, who posted to the Quarter Arcade Facebook group, writing: “Bustin’ its way onto the 2024/25 schedule – THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS – now CONFIRMED as a QUARTER ARCADE!”

Given we’re still a ways off from release, details at this time are scarce, but as the norm, we’ll continue to follow along with development, providing images and further details once they become available.

Released in 1987, The Real Ghostbusters is a shoot ’em-up arcade game published and developed by Data East and is loosely based on the animated series. The original arcade cabinet offered support for up to three players, with the game spanning 10 ghost-filled levels.

We’d like to thank Ghostbusters News reader Phil Shepard for providing the heads-up on today’s headline.
