Yes, differing accounts still at this stage. Earlier:
Some unconfirmed reports it was at a power plant.

Some unconfirmed reports it was at Parchin
  • an Iranian military complex
  • about 30 kilometres southeast of Tehran
There are no official confirmations out of Iran as yet.

Again, eyes on yen and oil but both have been tame.

Report: Massive Explosion in Tehran, Blackout in Shiraz
By

4 Tammuz 5780 – June 26, 2020

Multiple Middle Eastern sources are reporting a massive explosion took place early Friday either in or near the Iranian capital city of Tehran. Speculation is rife as to the cause and location of the explosions.

Consensus is building that the explosion may have taken place at a military base in or near Tehran, where nuclear activity was being conducted and where UN International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA) inspectors were barred from entry by Iranian authorities. The Parchin military complex is located just 20 kilometers (about 12 miles) southeast of downtown Tehran.

Parchin is a facility for the testing and manufacturing of conventional explosives; IAEA inspectors were looking for evidence of the kind of explosives testing consistent with nuclear weapons research and development. As far back as November 2011, the IAEA reported that it had “credible” information that Parchin was being used for implosion testing. The agency sought additional access to Parchin, but was denied entry by Iranian authorities.

The Arabic language Shehab News Agency tweeted “A big explosion was heard in Tehran,” but did not provide further details.”

The event in Tehran was described as a “loud explosion, followed by a bright light that was as light as day,” according to MidEast blogger NZIV.

Reports that the explosion in Iran happened at Parchin–a military base where Iran has conducted nuclear activity.

People living on the southeast of Tehran report a strange smell in the air, according to a local source posting on Twitter, who added in a tweet, “Some unconfirmed reports say satellite pictures suggest an explosion in Parchin complex. Parchin is Iran’s biggest ammunition factory. That is actually south of Khojir.”

Another video just appeared on social media allegedly showing the explosion. pic.twitter.com/YbsETSZrn2

Sources reported a power outage in the city of Shiraz as well, leaving 1.2 million households without electricity. Analysts speculated was due to an explosion at a power plant.
Just as a side note, we had explosions of power stations in Shiraz an hour ago. Whether it has anything to do with it I do not know.
Some rumours talk of a cyber attack by Israelis on power infrastructure in Iran.

There were also reports of a third explosion that took place in Fardis, in northern Iran.
This is a developing story.

Others suggested an explosion at an ammunition depot in Paradis, citing Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) chatter on the messaging app Telegram.

The explosion happened around 2 am local time, just half an hour after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted about new US sanctions against Iran.
Our maximum pressure campaign on the Iranian regime continues. Today, we are sanctioning nine entities for their connections to Iran’s metals sector. Iran’s leaders must stop squandering resources to support proxies abroad while Iranians suffer.

A video shared by researcher Babak Taghvaee includes coordinates of the location in Paradis where the explosion was filmed from. Taghvaee seemed convinced this was a cyber attack, saying it was reprisal for the IRGC targeting “Israel’s water desalination facilities” several months ago.

Others have said the explosion took place at Khojir, not Parchin, pointing to a missile production and testing facility there as the possible culprit.
I think @obretix is right (as he always is). Would make Khojir not Parchin the source of the bright light. https://t.co/lLf810D9lVpic.twitter.com/ZtE1oHq6HY

Iranian TV has so far reported only that the authorities were “investigating the bright light and loud sound” near Tehran.
