I wouldn't say it's calm around S.Ca. The Bobcat fire has exploded to 91,000 acres and is wiping out Juniper flats and their was a 4.6 earthquake last night on the deadly Whittier narrows fault that was felt all the way to San Diego.

Actually, it's the start of a lovely fall season here. There are always rumbles and tumbles trials and travails, but given what the world has seen before, and may likely see again, yeah, this is pretty tame. Diff is we're some of the least prepared of the civilizations who've faced hardship.
