Seven types of viruses that have lain frozen in the Siberian permafrost for thousands of years have been revived. The youngest were frozen for 27,000 years, while the oldest was on ice for 48,500 years – making it the most ancient virus resuscitated so far.

“48,500 years is a world record,” says Jean-Michel Claverie at Aix-Marseille University in France, who did the work with his colleagues. His team has previously revived two 30,000-year-old viruses …

Permafrost or a glacier can maintain a pretty stable temp for thousands of years. Freezing is mostly looked upon as a preserving mechanism for bacterial and viral cultures. When they do thaw, it's very possible for some to be viable.

Old neglected lab freezers are a cornucopia of goodies....probably most residents still viable, unlabeled :rolleyes:, and (in my humble opinion and practice being stuck cleaning them out) needing both autoclaving AND incineration. Some viruses and bacterial cultures are very persistent/resilient and when the boss-man/lady croaks or leaves for greener pastures, sometimes nobody knows what lurks in that freezer.

I wonder what kind of SUV's caused whatever warming that existed prior to 45k years ago that allowed these virus to be frozen to begin with?

There had to be less ice back then to allow this to have been deposited and since melting ice is caused by man they have some explaining to do.

At lest it's not some man made virus that no one seems to know how to stop.
The things they are pulling out of ice and frozen earth are like really old malware it's so out dated it no longer has any effect on anything.

And today’s dumb a** “scientists” with immediately start gain of function work on them. Probably will ship some to all our friends (like China, Iraq, India, etc) so we can prove we’re good guys.

It is against USA rules/law but we know from the Chinese bio weapon and the enhancement work recently done by an east coast university to make it deadly that no one but us deplorables is ever punished.

Just a technicality.....viruses aren't "alive" so they really can't be "revived". Also, they didn't replicate "themselves" - they need a host and, in this case, some scientific assistance. And why not study them (safely, of course)? I think it's exciting!

They will (attempt to) broadcast the lies they desire for their agenda, and keep repeating the lies, to (attempt to) obtain their goals. Gaslighting and psychological warfare. I word it like this because many will not fall for it, and they will become desperate and decide to go with plan b, the nukes. They continue to want massive death counts as sacrificed to the god satan, and will decide to accelerate their failing agenda...because it is failing.

'Zombie' Virus Reanimated After 50,000 Years In Siberian Permafrost​

French researchers have reanimated over a dozen prehistoric viruses which have been trapped deep within the Siberian permafrost for nearly 50 million years, according to a pre-print study.

After obtaining seven ancient permafrost samples, scientists from the French National Centre for Scientific Research were able to document 13 never-before-seen viruses that had been lying dormant in the ice, Science Alert reports.

The same researchers found a 30,000-year-old virus in 2014 which was trapped in permafrost. Notably, it was still able to infect organisms. Now, they've beaten their own record with a find that's 48,500 years old, which they named Pandoravirus yedoma, according to Science Alert.

The scientists, who called these "zombie viruses" a public health threat, pointed to global warming as an ongoing risk that could result in the release of deadly pathogens from long ago.

"Due to climate warming, irreversibly thawing permafrost is releasing organic matter frozen for up to a million years, most of which decomposes into carbon dioxide and methane, further enhancing the greenhouse effect," the authors wrote. "Part of this organic matter also consists of revived cellular microbes (prokaryotes, unicellular eukaryotes) as well as viruses that remained dormant since prehistorical times."

As Global News notes,
Some of these “zombie viruses” could potentially be dangerous to humans, the authors warn. And, in fact, thawing permafrost has already claimed human lives.
In 2016, one child died and dozens of people were hospitalized after an anthrax outbreak in Siberia. Officials believe the outbreak started because a heat wave thawed the permafrost and unearthed a reindeer carcass infected with anthrax decades ago. About 2,300 reindeer died in the outbreak.

The revived viruses belong to the following sub-types; pandoravirus, cedratvirus, megavirus, pacmanvirus and pithovirus - and are considered "giant" because they are large and easy to spot using light microscopy.
Beware of rotting Siberian bears.

The REALLY interesting part about the flash-frozen wooly mammoths is the amount of **sudden** drop in temperature required to flash-freeze a living animal of THAT size - not slow-freeze - QUICK-freeze - as in, the water in their cells did not have an opportunity to burst the cell, which is an expected result when meat is normal/slow-frozen.

Forget the temperature that was calculated to have occurred - something like an instant drop to (minus) -150°F - blink-your-eyes FAST.

Bear in mind that some of the frozen mammoths had buttercups in their mouths and stomachs - meaning, they were eating buttercups - warmer climate plant - when the quick-freeze event occurred.

Some of the Siberian sled dogs were fed the mammoth meat, with no problems - was said to be well-preserved and allegedly quite edible.

Guesses as to what caused that amount of sudden temperature drop were all over the map, and none too convincing.
