Daughter texted me this morning from Plano TX
Said "No Gas"
She went on to say the gas stations had run out. There were long lines. People were filling up all kinds of containers for gas.

Sometimes she gets excited.

Anyone else see this?
Outside of the area affected by the east coast pipeline fiasco?

Topped off my car at the QT on 635 and Belt Line in Coppell this morning. Not even a hint of a line.

I question it. But she showed me the pictures of signs on the pump - sorry, out of gas.
there really should be no reason for Texas to be out of gas.
But Plano has seen such an influx of foreigners that it could simply be liberal lemmings panicking

Drove from Frisco to Plano to Richardson to Garland. Saw no lines and the places I stopped at were having no shortage.

Not saying she did not see it, but it was very limited in the area impacted.

this is my conclusion as well . . .
someone saw "news" on their iPhone
immediately texted all their friends
the result was a flash mob buying gas in the same area

best guess

Or maybe just an unrelated delivery screw up. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Not to thread drift, but it is Texas specific. The risks I see to Texas are three: (1) Overall prices increase from market disruption; (2) The transfer of Fuel Tanker Drivers from the Texas region to the South & East states causing a minor shortage of deliveries to Texas gas stations; (3) Shutting down of refineries and related services which take time to restart causing a ripple shortage caused by startup times after the pipeline is back online.

ok. confirmed.
no shortage in TX.

How do I get a mod to close the thread?
(no need to create more panic buying)

Passing through Walnut Springs, Glen Rose, and Granbury at 5 am this morning and I saw no lines or unusual activity.
Oh, and Iredell was still closed up tight. No sign of life at all.

Just got back. No lines or unusual traffic at the gas stations in Northwest Austin.

The gas station I watch as a bellwether was still at $2.69 for Regular. ($2.49 Sun night, $2.59 Mon morning, $2.69 Mon night).

Regarding the moron in post 16, he’s filling commercial plastic trash cans with gas! You can’t do that safely! The lids don’t secure properly to be liquid/spill proof.
