Pike killed her own 19-year-old classmate in 1995.

Of course the 3 LIBERAL justices dissented: Ketanji Jackson, Sotomayor and Kagan

The killing happened in Knoxville.

GOOD RIDDANCE. M*rderers deserve the death penalty!

If the flim-flam of the previous "Administration" hadn't happened, we wouldn't have had to suffer a SC Justice that doesn't know how to define Male and Female.

(Perhaps another ACB or Roberts, though...)

If we get through this as a Nation, it'll be by the skin of our teeth.
 
The other two in that case, the 17 year old boyfriend and her girlfriend who turned states evidence got off easy by comparison.

Not saying she doesn't deserve it, just how the cards landed.

An ambulance rushed her away, with lights and sirens and stuff.

Anybody know what hospital she was rushed to?

TDOC is remaining silent.

They will not say officially if she is alive or dead.
 
Media on the scene is saying TDOC has told the media that they will have to clear off the Riverbend correctional facility premises in one hour.

Meantime, TDOC will not say whether she is living or dying.

Occasionally we did offender patient transfers from our hospital to the state contracted hospital in Nashville

MEHARRY MED - NASHVILLE, TN​

At the time that was the hospital contracted with the sttate for all inmate medical transfers.

“I’ve witnessed about 5 executions in Tennessee but nothing about today was normal”.

“She (Christa Pike) said her last words, she kept them about herself, spoke about herself and her haters…. she was looking forward to be free, she and her spiritual advisor were singing”.

“At one point @ 7.34pm she said her arm felt like it was ‘about to burst open’ and she asked ‘does this happen like that’ & her advisor told her to relax and she said she was trying”….

“6.41pm we go back into the witness chamber. The curtains open for the first time @ 7.26pm and close for the first time @ 7.46, when she is still snoring - we could hear her still snoring, and we all looked at each other like “she is still alive”. The curtains re open @ 7.49pm and close again @ 8.05 and do not re open. We were escorted out @ 8.53pm.

Not in Tennessee.

It is lethal injection or the electric chair for people convicted before 2000.


Only lethal injection for those convicted after 2000.


I would not be surprised if that does not change after tonight, and also, the blotched attempt to execute Tony Carruthers, which TDOC blotched a few months ago.

You want to know my own personal OPINION?

I think somebody purposefully diluted the drug before it was administered.

Or maybe, more innocently, it was just an old batch.

Why phenobarb as the lethal injection? I can see it as a pre-med, then follow it up with a massive dose of potassium chloride. While I am not anti-death penalty, this is just cruel. For everyone - the inmate, the witnesses, even the mom of the victim. And what is the point of trying to resuscitate her??
 
Please can anyone make me understand. Sentenced, rightly, to die. Given two doses insufficient and instead of a third dose…they try to stop this death, this righteous death, from happening. At whose expense? To what purpose? What justice?
 
Media witnesses for the scheduled execution of Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike said that she was alive after the lethal injection process. WPLN's Catherine Sweeney said when members of the media were told to leave the witness area at 8:53 p.m. local time that Pike was still breathing.
