Tools Rogue Hoe

I bought a Rogue Hoe on recommendations from this forum and just want to say it is more than i had hoped for. Don't buy another crappy cheap hoe. Go Rogue. Everything about it is what i thought a hoe should be. It's half again as easy to hoe weeds as a light, cheap piece of crap. Just a personal review and thank you from me.

Where did you buy it from? I found a place online, that wanted like $33 for the hoe, and $27 for shipping. I passed.

This too shall pass.
Amazon has it for $47 and free shipping.

It is the best hoe ever and worth every penny. I love mine. No they aren't cheap but it will last a lifetime.

We have been able to eliminate our need to hoe, so that is an improvement for us.

Above ground planters will do that.
You aren't going to get a ton of potatoes or corn in a planter. We have some raised beds for salad stuff and herbs but it wouldnt be practical to grow most of the bulk crops in planters.

No you won't.

We are currently targeting high value crops that we eat. This is our middle term plan.

Long term? Still working on it. But in our area bulk crops like corn just are not feasible. Too many issues with flooding (live in a swamp area so it is once a month for about 6 months ).

So we are buying such items in bulk for the time being.

China Connection, I have one of those Japanese hoes too. I ordered mine some years ago from Lee Valley Tools. It and my Rogue hoes are must haves in my opinion.

Unfortunately they don't show a full size one on the website that I could find. From what I remember the head of it is made a disc blade like you would use on a tractor. There is a very slight curl to it. You might check and see about ordering one through a local hardware store or maybe even Ace hardware. I bought 2 from a local hardware store and another from a John Deere dealership. Great product, I highly recommend. You can also buy replacement handles too. Its worth it for the toughness if it. I have used it to get out johnson grass, one of the hardest weeds to get out by hand.

Some of these hoes look vary formidable.

I've alwas said that a sharp stick in the right hands, is just a dangerous if not more so than a newbie with a real personal defence weapon.

Stick them in the eye...

I like the collinear hoes. Keep them sharp and you can cut off the weeds just below the surface, less effort and you aren't dredging up more weed seeds.

And they have that type also. Check out the website they have a lot of different tools for different situations. I am going to look at a collinear hoe now also. Thanks JS for the tip!

This is my favorite hoe too. I ordered mine from Johnny's Seeds, best tool investment I have made so far.

Nice! Hope you like it as much as I do. Hopefully never have to buy another one now. Let us know what you think when you get them.

My two hoes showed up, all wrapped in plastic. One of them tried to cut me good.

Actually, I've been giving the small one a good work out, and I like it a lot. The big one, I'm not so sure of. I need more time behind it.

After reading the post above about Dad got spares, it reminded me it might be a good idea to have an extra handle for your rogue hoe. I remember I have 1 on hand for 3, will see if they have anymore handles or new toys at the local hardware store soon
