TERRORISM Riots in Minneapolis (now the main riot thread)

As this weekend is the "100 days of protests" weekend, thought I'd post this nugget.

Highland Park is a very expensive neighborhood--$1M plus homes. They have a "watch" group assembled who are intending to ensure there is no crazy stuff. They are a little "town" encircled by Dallas, but have their own PD. BLM is literally about to "take it to the rich white folks" as they say at the bottom of the post.

Far-left Black Lives Matter activists stormed Rochester, New York, on Friday night, climbing on people’s homes in residential neighborhoods and trashing businesses.

Human Events Managing Editor Ian Miles Cheong tweeted out a video purportedly taken from the scene, writing: “Black Lives Matter activists are now climbing onto people’s homes in Rochester.”

The latest round of far-left violence broke out in response to a black man who died after he was taken into police custody months ago.

The Daily Wire reported:
Back in March, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Daniel Prude, a black male, interacted with officers from the Rochester Police Department (RPD) in New York after at least two people called 911 about Prude’s behavior and welfare, included Prude’s own brother, Joe Prude.
Police reports indicate Prude was restrained by officers while waiting for the ambulance the cops summoned — video (below) suggests this was done soon after Prude told officers, “Give me your gun, I need it.”
As noted by Forbes, Prude “had been taken to the local hospital for suicidal thoughts about eight hours before his encounter with police on March 22.”
As cops were physically restraining the man for about two minutes, body camera footage (which can be viewed below) and media reports suggest the 41-year-old threw up and loss consciousness. He was reportedly resuscitated on the way to the hospital but likely suffered severe brain damage and was pulled from life support about a week later by his family.
Notably, Prude has a mesh-like hood placed over his head, dubbed a “spit hood.” The device is used to protect officers from saliva. Prude was repeatedly spitting and reportedly telling people he had COVID. (The interaction with police was in March, at the height of the novel coronavirus pandemic.)
An autopsy report from the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to WXXI News, “listed the cause of Prude’s death as ‘complications of asphyxia in the setting of physical restraint due to excited delirium due to acute phencyclidine intoxication,’ an indication that Prude might have been high on PCP.”
One man upset about the incident suggested to a reporter on camera Thursday that racially-charged violence would be the response if “justice” does not come.

“Black lives do matter, okay? We want to see those officers arrested, and if we don’t — We tired. We are tired. We tired of it, man,” the man said. “They act like black people — we want justice all over the world, we want equal pay, we want equal rights, when you go to court, we wanna be treated equal.”

“It’s unequal all the way across the board,” he said. “We tired of it. Black lives do matter, okay? We tired of these police killing people.”

“We gonna put matters into our own hands if justice don’t come,” he added. “I’m being honest with you. We got a 100,000 deep, ready. Ya’ll need to know that.”

Minneapolis Salon Owner Slapped w/ $200K Bill after Rioters Burned It Down

September 5, 2020
1599350739370.png

(Headline USA) The owner of a Minneapolis salon burned to the ground during the riots over George Floyd’s death in May said that the city slapped her with a $200,000 bill and tore down the building instead of helping the nearby businesses rebuild.

“I haven’t gotten anything, not a penny,” Flora Westbrooks, owner of Flora’s Hair Designs, told Fox News on Thursday.

“[The] bill is going to be over $200,000 just for tearing things down and putting up a fence there,” she added, “so it’s going to be lots of money that I can’t afford that I don’t have.”

When asked by the city decided to tear down the building, Casper Hill, the city media relations manager, said it was to “protect the public” since the building was at risk of collapsing.

But it’s clear, according to Westbrooks, that local officials don’t care about the plight of local businesses—because if they did, they would have done more to crack down on the riots back in May.

The police “never showed up” when rioters set her business on fire, Westbrook recalled, and she “didn’t see any police at all patrol my area.”

“I just feel like I’m alone and I’m sure other business owners feel the same as I do,” Westbrooks said.

To help Westbrooks, community members set up a GoFundMe page that describes her business as a “pillar on Broadway Avenue where men, women, and children came to get beautified and had history lessons from elders in the community.”

“My plan is to rebuild my business,” she told Fox News. “I built that business myself and I just want my business back. That’s all I want, to just get my life back. I want my life back.”

Washington DC, Portland Oregon, Kenosha Protest 9/6/2020 (Live) (Day 102)

Narrator just said that on OCT 3 at Salem, OR, there would be a large Unity March of all the West coat groups. For a couple of weeks, groups would be going out to smaller towns to organize protests. (I assume this is after the big march leading up to the election.)

'Protesters' in Name Only: Mob Terrorized Us on D.C. Streets
COMMENTARY
.
By Richard W. Porter

I met some protesters face to face on Thursday night and I am here to tell you this:
They were not good people — and calling them “protesters” is a slur on lawful protest.

I was walking from the White House to my hotel behind an elderly couple. People were milling about the street, yelling obscenities at the police and Secret Service officers standing behind the fence, but our hotels were just across the street and down the block.

So, we passed through the gate to cross the street -- and ran into a gauntlet of hate.
Two people first rushed to within inches of me, screaming obscenities in (and on!) my face. I held my fingers up in a peace sign, proceeding without pushing them out of my way, steeling myself for a blow and considering if and when I would need to fight.

My peace sign actually attracted more people to me, screaming vilely, as I said, “Settle down, settle down!” The elderly woman in front of me fell to the ground. Screaming people swirled around her as she knelt on the street; her husband bent down to help her up. I stepped behind her and stretched out my arms, trying to create space for her to get up and move on. I backed across the street a few more steps trying to keep my eyes on the people threatening me, but they were moving all around me. So, I turned and finished crossing the street, waiting for a blow, seeking to convey dignity, mentally preparing to respond. A few steps further and we encountered some police officers; more came, and they set up a protective cordon to restrain, but not arrest, the criminals.

Separately, a friend helped another elderly couple through a similar assault: The elderly woman dropped her earring and was too frightened to pick it up, until my friend stepped in to assist them. A Chicago police officer in town for the event, she said it was the first time she felt like a civilian relying on police. Sen. Rand Paul would later thank the Washington police for saving him from this same “mob.”

There are a thousand similar crime stories this morning. And yes, the people we encountered were criminals: Assault is a crime in every state and municipality. At a minimum, they violated section 22-404 of the D.C. Criminal Code, the penalty for which is imprisonment for up to 180 days.

Assault is an overt act that is intended to, and does, cause an apprehension of harmful or offensive contact in the victim. Assault is a crime distinct from battery. However, assault can lead to retribution or worse crimes (like battery, theft, arson and murder) and unprosecuted assault desensitizes people to the humanity of others.

This was not the first rodeo for the hate-filled people engulfing us -- consider their inhumane preying on the elderly. They maneuvered in a practiced, agreed-upon manner, co-conspirators in a plan to cause mayhem and provoke a response — including the amateur videographers who stayed a step or two back filming as we struggled through the gauntlet. They are criminal gangs that have done and will do even worse things until they fear the consequences of their actions.

Most protesters in America are peace-loving and do not wish to inflict harm. I met some gathering in D.C. for a rally commemorating Martin Luther King’s epic “I have a dream” speech. And, as I left Washington on Friday morning, I saw families with young kids in tow, streaming across 15th Street at the Mall as they made their way to the Lincoln Memorial.

I am confident none of these people were causing mayhem late Thursday night. Peaceful protesters are up and out early; those out late are rarely conveying love or seeking to change minds. Peaceful protesters are civilized and preach and model love; criminals are violent, threaten violence and spew hate.

We need to be more discerning about what’s happening in our cities: Not all protests or protesters are the same. Criminals acting and hiding under the umbrella of “peaceful” protests need to be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law. We need to stop ignoring criminal behavior that desensitizes an entire generation to violence and the humanity of others. The virtue of law-abiding protesters does not absolve the criminals among them or excuse their crimes.

Assault is a crime everywhere in America because it’s fundamental: We are not civilized if some are free to terrorize others at will. All Americans of good faith stand together with peaceful protesters seeking to eradicate racism and heal our nation’s divisions. And towards that end, police, prosecutors and those protestors should together adopt a “zero tolerance” approach to the marauding bands terrorizing our cities and dehumanizing others.

The posted video is a summary of a series of videos by this YouTuber on the subject of slavery, by and of blacks, whites, and others. She opines that the distortion of this history has not been helpful to blacks, or anyone else for that matter (except for a small group of baddies). At 32:13, she refers to comments attributed to Winston Churchill’s handler, Frederick Linnemann, aka Lord Cherwell, who predicted that the end game of WWII would be the abdication of the White man.

Bill of Rights First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

_________________________
Right to Peaceful Assembly: United States | Law Library of Congress

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits the United States Congress from enacting legislation that would abridge the right of the people to assemble peaceably.[1] The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution makes this prohibition applicable to state governments.[2]

The Supreme Court of the United States has held that the First Amendment protects the right to conduct a peaceful public assembly.[3] The right to assemble is not, however, absolute.

Government officials cannot simply prohibit a public assembly in their own discretion,[4] but the government can impose restrictions on the time, place, and manner of peaceful assembly, provided that constitutional safeguards are met.[5] Time, place, and manner restrictions are permissible so long as they “are justified without reference to the content of the regulated speech, . . . are narrowly tailored to serve a significant governmental interest, and . . . leave open ample alternative channels for communication of the information.”[6]

Such time, place, and manner restrictions can take the form of requirements to obtain a permit for an assembly.[7] The Supreme Court has held that it is constitutionally permissible for the government to require that a permit for an assembly be obtained in advance.[8] The government can also make special regulations that impose additional requirements for assemblies that take place near major public events.[9]

In the United States, the organizer of a public assembly must typically apply for and obtain a permit in advance from the local police department or other local governmental body.[10] Applications for permits usually require, at a minimum, information about the specific date, time, and location of the proposed assembly, and may require a great deal more information.[11] Localities can, within the boundaries established by Supreme Court decisions interpreting the First Amendment right to assemble peaceably, impose additional requirements for permit applications, such as information about the organizer of the assembly and specific details about how the assembly is to be conducted.[12]

The First Amendment does not provide the right to conduct an assembly at which there is a clear and present danger of riot, disorder, or interference with traffic on public streets, or other immediate threat to public safety or order.[13] Statutes that prohibit people from assembling and using force or violence to accomplish unlawful purposes are permissible under the First Amendment.[14]

This video of protesters destroying restaurants in Rochester shows BLM is a terrorist organization
•Sep 8, 2020

Glenn Beck

WHY has Black Lives Matter not yet been declared a terrorist organization? In video obtained on Twitter from journalist Scooter Caster (FNTV), BLM protesters in Rochester, NY and Pittsburgh, PA took to the streets this weekend with the intention to "shut down" restaurants. In the process, they harassed diners, chased them from their tables, smashed glasses and plates, ripped restaurant blinds, and destroyed a BLACK OWNED business. But, it's okay, because buildings -- like restaurants and other businesses -- are just a form of property protected by insurance, right? Glenn and Stu explain why that leftist narrative is actually -- surprise surprise -- completely wrong.
