Austin, Texas: Mounted police broke up crowds of Black Lives Matter (and Antifa) failing to follow orders to disperse occupied intersection. The rioting crowd chanting ‘Take it to the streets, F*ck the Police’ went back several times throughout the night. Large number of State Troopers assisted in policing. The BLM narrative “mounted police trampling down peaceful protesters” (Candice Bernd).

24 Arrested, 17 Officers Injured After Chicago Protests ‘Hijacked,' Police Say
The demonstrations began at Chicago's iconic Bean before the group traveled to Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, where multiple incidents were reported

Chicago police say at least 24 people were arrested and 17 officers treated for injuries after large demonstrations in the city's downtown were "hijacked," some becoming violent as officers were beaten with items like skateboards and pepper spray was deployed.

Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said the day started with peaceful protests on the city's South Side with no reports of arrests or violence as the group traveled for five miles into the downtown area.

"It wasn't until later this afternoon during a separate protest downtown where multiple agitators hijacked this peaceful protest," Brown said.

He noted that people in the crowd used black umbrellas to shield themselves as they changed their appearance before "assaulting officers."

Video captures the moment police pepper spray a group of protesters, one of many tense moments during demonstrations in downtown Chicago Saturday. Aerial footage shows officers swarming a group of demonstrators while additional footage shows police warning protesters to exit the city or risk arrest.

In total, Brown said 24 people were arrested during the demonstrations, four of which were arrested for felonies.
Seventeen officers were treated for minor injuries, after protesters sprayed them with mace and beat them with items including a skateboard, Brown said. Two protesters were also treated for injuries at the scene.

"An officer was just beat in the head with a skateboard repeatedly and it's clear that that was the intent of the agitators," Brown said, adding that video of the incident was expected to be released Sunday.

The clashes sparked after a group gathered at Chicago's iconic bean calling for the defunding of police.
The demonstrators traveled to Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, where multiple incidents were then reported.

According to footage from the scene, several protesters could be seen scuffling with police blocking streets and pepper spray was used on the parts of the crowd.

The group then continued to Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street, heading toward Chicago's Loop as city bridges remained lifted, preventing them from crossing the Chicago River.

The group chanted things like "no justice, no peace" as they called for defunding the police and abolishing U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Among their demands were the removal of police officers from Chicago Public Schools.

It's not the first time police say protests in Chicago were "hijacked."

Last month, authorities also said people using umbrellas to change their appearance sparked violence during demonstrations at the city's Christopher Columbus statue in Grant Park. There, 49 officers and at least four protesters were hurt during the so-called "mob action." Police later released video of the incidents.

Police are seen blocking protesters as they march in downtown Chicago following multiple clashes between demonstrators and officers at the scene.

Cosa Mesa appears to have no compunction about arresting truly peaceful protesters who entered a store without wearing a mask after the protest was over, and were locked in the store by employees until the police arrived. They were charged with trespassing.

Yesterday, two women walked into Mother's Market in Costa Mesa, which locked the front doors as they called the cops to have them arrested for "trespassing." Take it from an attorney who was present: it's not trespassing when you lock them in -- it's false imprisonment (and a fire code violation) and the cops should have arrested the employees. Black lives really don’t matter to BLM. If they did, they would work toward improving the Black family. If you have your father in your life, maybe if he married your mother, maybe if she even knew who he is, if you were actually part of the Western nuclear family, you might grow up to be a decent, respectful human being. You might not be responsible for half of the violent crime while being only 1/8 of the population. You might not kill thousands of your own, most of them innocent victims. You might not have killed more of your own at the hands of BLM protesters than were killed by the cops you are protesting about. All that if you had, in your culture, a family, a father to raise you right, to make a man out of you. That is what BLM should be fostering. Are they? No. They specifically reject that, while also being queer-friendly. There are those who are not wired right, they are entitled to some equality, not to be attacked for their weirdness. They do not have a right to force their lifestyle on normal people, they are certainly not fit to be a driving force for progress for any group seeking to improve their station in life. Marxists as well.

DENVER (AP) — Dozens of armed “anarchists” descended on the Denver Police Headquarters late Saturday and damaged buildings, set fires and injured an officer, city officials said Sunday. A dozen people were arrested.

“I want to be clear, what we experienced last night was not a protest. It was anarchy,” said Murphy Robinson, executive director of public safety. “The people that showed up last night — the anarchists that showed up last night — brought weapons to the table. They had guns, they brought explosives, axes, machetes and had one intent purpose and that was to harm our officers that were there to serve in the line of duty to protect our city.”

Fireworks were shot at officers, an American flag and a tree outside a courthouse were set ablaze, windows were shattered and fast-food restaurant was broken into during the unrest, news outlets reported.

One officer suffered a concussion and third-degree burns, said Police Chief Paul Pazen. The officer was expected to recovery, he said.

Robinson said he was lifting a jail inmate cap that was put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to accommodate those arrested on Saturday and officials said they will look at state or federal laws to charge those who were arrested and will seek restitution for the damages.

People in the crowd said they were protesting for a variety of reasons — from efforts to defund the police department, to displeasure over the police response to a homeless camp last week, to the death of Elijah McClain — according to news outlets. McClain died after being stopped by police last year in the suburb of Aurora.

“The narrative that these anarchists are marching for justice of Black lives is frankly false,” said Robinson, who is Black. “The public needs to know that you do not represent us. Stop using the color of my skin as an excuse to tear up my city.”

Less-lethal munitions such as smoke and pepper balls were used to clear the crowd of 50 to 75 people, officials said.

“We’re not going to stand for their anarchy, their chaos or their mindless destruction in our city,” Mayor Michael B. Hancock said.
