Trump Is Mad at NYC Mayor for Black Lives Matter Painting
•Jul 10, 2020

Inside Edition

In an interview with Sean Hannity, President Donald Trump vented his outrage that a large “Black Lives Matter” mural was painted on the street right outside Trump Tower. He told Hannity he was especially upset at video of Mayor Bill de Blasio gleefully helping with the painting. The president also revealed he recently took a cognitive test at Walter Reed Hospital, and challenged Joe Biden to take one. This one he took is reportedly designed to detect early signs of Alzheimer’s.

Martinez police to call in mutual aid as it braces for weekend protests
Martinez is bracing for a huge protest and possible counter protest this weekend. It all began with the Black Lives Matter public art that was painted over by two residents who have been charged with a hate crime. Now some residents fear the worst as police are planning to call in reinforcements.

MARTINEZ, Calif. - Martinez is bracing for a huge protest- and possible counter-protest- this weekend.

What was originally planned as a local Black Lives Matter event gained steam after two residents were charged with a high profile hate crime.

"Everybody's coming after us because of what happened, so we've got to wait and see what happens on Sunday," said Jennifer Garcia, owner of Sal's Family Kitchen in downtown Martinez.

Many businesses were erecting plywood over windows and doors on Friday, in preparation for crowds and possible unrest.

Garcia said she would close her cafe early on Saturday to board-up, and then remain closed all day Sunday.

"Everybody is pretty scared because Martinez has had peaceful protests before, but since is the biggest one, we don't know how it's going to go."

Police have been hearing such sentiments all week.

"They don't want this to descend on their town, it's a small town and people are fearful," said Martinez Police Lt. Mike Estanol.

"We have to live here and work here and we're going to be left with the aftermath of what's left over."

The 4 p.m. rally begins at the courthouse, at a huge Black Lives Matter mural, painted on the street a week ago.

Marchers will follow Court Street to Marina Vista, then on to Ferry Street to the waterfront park.

"We want a peaceful march," said event organizer Sevgi Fernandez, founder of Together We Stand, which has worked nationally on issues of racial justice and police brutality since 2016.

"We don't want any confrontations with anybody and we're expecting a great event," said Fernandez.

The rally was actually planned in response to white supremacy flyers that have surfaced around town.

But it took on new urgency this week, after a viral video showed a man and woman defacing the BLM street mural, soon after its completion.

While painting over a few letters, they shouted that racism is a lie.

On Fox News channel, the couple went further, calling BLM a terror group.

Said David Nelson, "We're sick of this, we're sick of the narrative."

And alongside him, Nicole Anderson: "I just don't want them to de-fund the police, we're lucky we have them."

Ironically, Martinez police swiftly determined the pair had vandalized permitted public art and committed a hate crime.

They were charged by Contra Costa County's D.A., resulting in even more notoriety for them.

"We need to stand up, we need to get together, all Americans, in every city, and take to the streets," said Nelson, on the network program.

With Martinez in the national spotlight, counter-protesters may be attracted to Sunday's rally.

"We've heard that there are several biker gangs that might be coming to oppose our march, and we've been getting threats throughout the week, threats unless we cancel, and threats of a race war," said Fernandez.

Police asked for the march to be postponed until tensions ease, but organizers say that sends the wrong message:

"That says terroristic threats and bullying people of color is acceptable in 2020 in the United States," said Fernandez.

Recent Bay Area protests have seen demonstrators and police clash- resulting in arrests, injuries, and property damage.

Martinez officers plan to be as hands-off as possible.

"Our goal is to not antagonize any group that appears that day. We will be there, in great numbers, but you won't see us, and that's the point," said Estanol.

The Martinez Police Department has 37 sworn officers, and has asked for mutual aid from other departments.

Officers from Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, the sheriff's department, and East Bay Regional Park District Police Department will be standing by.

March organizers will also have trained volunteers in the crowd working to keep the atmosphere respectful and peaceful, and de-escalate any clashes that might occur.

Tensions Running High On Eve Of Martinez Black Lives Matter Protest

July 11, 2020 at 9:31 am
Filed Under:Black Lives Matter, March, Martinez, Mural

MARTINEZ (CBS SF) — Martinez Police Chief Manjit Sappal made a public appeal for calm as the East Bay city prepared for a large Black Lives Matter protest on Sunday afternoon.

In an online blog, Sappal said local residents were concerned that the downtown protest may spark acts of violence between supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement and those who opposed to them. Several downtown businesses have already boarded up their windows.

“Many of our residents and community members ared worried, scared, and feel helpless that different groups are converging on our small town,” the chief said in the blog. “I share their concerns and I implore anyone coming to Martinez on Sunday to strive to put your best foot forward. Feel free to gather, feel free to speak, feel free to exercise your First Amendment Right. Please do not engage in toxic, violent, hateful, or unsafe behavior.”

To make sure the crowd does not become unruly, officials have gathered a large contingent of law enforcement officers from across Contra Costa County.

“We have a large contingent of personnel from every agency in Contra Costa County that will be here on Sunday to assist us,” he said.

Sappel said social media chatter was further elevating the concerns.

“In the past day, we have been getting information from social media that folks with different viewpoints will be in our city to protest,” he said. “We have learned that some may be coming with the intention of protecting the community from protestors or protecting the police officers working the event and while I appreciate that thought, do not come to the protest armed or with an intention to commit violence.”

The chief said violence does erupt, officers will move quickly to bring the march to an end.
“In the event that the protest devolves and there are acts of violence or damage in a manner that places the community at risk, we will be forced to disperse the crowd and I want to be transparent in that regard,” he said. “We will be tolerant and work with all of you for a peaceful event – we implore you to not force us to respond in a manner that requires we take immediate action to end the event.”

Martinez suddenly found itself thrust onto the national stage last week, when a video of two vandals painting over a Black Lives Matter sign in front of the courthouse went viral, but it’s a spotlight no one wants.

Also Read:
“I’ve lived in Martinez for 20 years, and I’ve worked down here, on and off, for 20 years,” says Chef Dave of Haute Stuff Cafe on Main Street. “This is definitely national news, which you wouldn’t expect from a small town like Martinez.”

Two weeks ago KPIX was talking with Chef Dave about the struggle to keep his business alive during the pandemic. Now he has a new worry.

“Laying in bed and wondering should I board up or should I not board up,” Dave says.
Friday was a good day to be in the boarding-up business in downtown Martinez.

“A couple here, and another one down the corner,” says one plywood installer named Isiah. “And then we keep having people just keep asking to put up more.”

“My landlord, Mr. Dunivan, says ‘yes, we are going to board up,’ Just in case,” explains Judy, an owner at Antiques On The Main.

The antiques store, like many others, will be closed all weekend. It is a setback on top of a crisis.

“Yes, we’re trying to get through the pandemic,” Judy says. “We’ve had that for three months. We’re scared we’re going to go through another three months.”

“It’s just added expense, at a time and added frustration, not knowing how this is going to end up,” explained Ernie Guerrero as he unloaded plywood outside of his restaurant, La Tapatia Mexican Cuisine.

Portland Rioters Surround Car So Driver Shoots His Way Out
Portland Rioters Surround Car So Driver Shoots His Way Out

Portland Rioters Surround Car So Driver Shoots His Way Out

Portland, Oregon, home of the NBA Trail Blazers, hippies, rain, homeless, forests, and rioting! When you search for Portland you see all the amenities the city offers plus the growing tech industry with 21 tech companies you might have heard about. If you are a far-left BLM sympathizer, the perfect landing spot for you. I am not, so will never visit Portland, ever.

Starting before the George Floyd innocent, Portland’s ANTIFA mob has been intimidating drivers, blocking off intersections and creating havoc for the police. The police response was force against force which enraged the white liberals, watching from their gated communities.

The cancel culture put their bullseye on the 6 months, on the job, white woman police captain, Jami Resch. Shortly after the assault started, she stepped down on June 9th, handing the job over to a black man, Chuck Lovell.

With all the confusion at the top, and the increasing orders for the police officers to not use force when confronted, the streets of Portland, like LA, NYC, and Chicago are dangerous. Some people, knowing that there is no law and order, are carrying weapons now in case they get attacked.

From PJ Media

Every night for the past six weeks in Portland, Oregon, antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters, looters and vandals have turned what used to be a nice neighborhood in downtown into a war zone. Portlanders are sick of it.

The police commissioner/mayor and the new BLM-approved police chief have done little about it. The Portland Police Officers Association held a scathing news conference, issuing a no-confidence throwdown to City Hall and begging elected officials to stop defending antifa.
My friend took these photos of Portland a few days ago. The downtown is boarded up.
My friend holds a concealed weapons license. Like so many people, he refused to get out of his car. pic.twitter.com/OCUDRr3G9W
— Victoria Taft (@VictoriaTaft) July 9, 2020
But next to nothing has been done by local Portland police.

Rioters Surround Car, Driver Shoots His Way Out
Now it looks as if the people are taking the matters into their own hands.
In the early hours of July 9th, a person driving a white car in downtown Portland was surrounded by rioters.

The “protesters” demanded that the driver “get off the f*cking road!”
Within seconds multiple shots were fired in the air from the car. No one was hit.

As I said, I will never go to Portland, but if I lived there, I would have protection in my car too. This could have gone wrong quickly, but things worked out for the person in the car after all. Sure would have been nice to have seen police officers and empty roads instead.

A couple things...

Why couldn’t someone get a permit for “public art” and paint right over this propaganda, wherever they find it?

Will the terrorists be similarly charged for vandalizing all of the statues that are clearly ART?

Portland Mayor Says DHS Officers Are To Blame For Violence, Not Rioters

Portland, Oregon, has had a tumultuous year between Antifa riots and the new wave of unrest following the police-involved death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd.

As looters and rioters have cost Portland businesses a reported $23 million, Mayor Ted Wheeler said Tuesday that his “biggest immediate concern” was not the criminals destroying the city, but federal officials from the Department of Homeland Security and their alleged “violence” and “life-threatening tactics.”

Wheeler said DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf reached out to him about the unrest in Portland and asked how the federal agency could help.

“Today the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security asked to speak with me about demonstration activity in Portland. He expressed his concern about ongoing violence and asked how his agency can help,” Wheeler said.

The mayor then said he denied Wolf’s help and blamed the federal agency for the violence in Portland.

“I told the Acting Secretary that my biggest immediate concern is the violence federal officers brought to our streets in recent days, and the life-threatening tactics his agents use. We do not need or want their help,” Wheeler tweeted.

— Mayor Ted Wheeler (@tedwheeler) July 14, 2020
In another follow-up tweet, Wheeler said he told DHS officials to either stay in their building or leave the city. He also said they should clean the graffiti on federal buildings.

“The best thing they can do is stay inside their building, or leave Portland altogether. Our goal is to end these violent demonstrations quickly and safely. And in the meantime, I asked him to clean up the graffiti on local federal facilities,” he tweeted.

“While we’re busy cleaning our streets and buildings, the two federal buildings are covered with graffiti that has been there for weeks on end. Our plan is this: protect our community. Clean up our city. And re-open,” Wheeler added.

— Mayor Ted Wheeler (@tedwheeler) July 14, 2020
It is Portland demonstrators who are adding the graffiti.

Fox News reported that “DHS deployed officers from multiple federal law enforcement agencies this month to protect government installations, including a courthouse.”

“Chaos has broken out in the city’s streets, frequently aimed at federal property as activists and some local leaders have objected to the presence of federal officers,” the outlet added.

“Over the weekend, a 23-year-old demonstrator allegedly struck a federal officer in the head with a hammer outside a courthouse. The demonstrator is accused of beating a hole into the building’s door with the hammer before officers came outside. Then he struck the officer in the head and shoulder with the hammer before being taken into custody, according to the Portland Police Bureau.”

Fox further reported that Portland’s own police department is “struggling to contain the unrest”:

The bureau has publicly shared images of projectiles hurled at police, crowds refusing to clear out, and weapons seized from protesters.

And police have said officers have been injured in a number of incidents — on multiple occasions due to protesters throwing fireworks at them.

“Our officers are tired, but they are resilient,” Chief Chuck Lovell said in a statement announcing more than a dozen arrests on the Fourth of July. “Our community deserves better than nightly criminal activity that destroys the value and fabric of our community.”

Protests continue across the country and the Bay Area with a goal to end systemic racism.

As you've seen on our air, these protests can be long with demonstrations lasting hours.

Now, a San Jose nonprofit named HERO Tent aims to help these people.
"A lot of the black and brown people in San Jose and in the Bay Area, they always felt like they didn't have someone to help them," HERO Tent President, Founder Kiana Simmons said. "They always felt neglected by the system. But, now more than ever, these people need our support."
RELATED: George Floyd death: 38 people arrested, several officers injured in violent San Jose protests
After attending the first protest following the death of George Floyd in San Jose on May 29, 22-year-old Simmons found a way to help.
She first set up a small tent to hand out water to these protesters who were demonstrating on the streets for hours.
From then on it grew.
"People dropped off more water and some snacks," Simmons said. "We even got hot food donations from Lee's Sandwiches and people donated pizza. At that point, I realized what how I was helping and what I was doing was working and that's how HERO Tent was born."
Now, the non-profit standing for human empowerment through radical optimism hands out food, water, masks and gloves and serves demonstrators across the Bay Area.
"We've fed and given water to thousands of people at this point," HERO Tent Board Secretary Jesilyn Faust said. "We have over 70 volunteers out here helping us. We're doing all this stuff just in seven weeks so I'm really excited to see what we do in the future."
The supplies are just symbols of the message that HERO tent wants to convey to the community and beyond.
These organizers want to support those who need help bringing change to the world.
RELATED: Black Lives Matter murals: See Downtown San Jose transformed by local artists
"We want to build systemic change," Faust said. "We're out here to create an alternative because the system has failed us. We're here to tell people, 'we are here for you. We got you'."
"What we have out here is special and I'd like to see it transform to different movements," Simmons said. "What we offer can translate to any movement and we want to help the people of that movement get what they need while still being able to protest."

Defund police plan: Fire only WHITE police officers
Lawmaker proposes racial discrimination

WND Staff
By WND Staff
Published July 19, 2020 at 1:58pm
Seeking to defund the police department by 50% in the name of racial justice, the Seattle City Council finds itself in a bind.

The problem is that the slashing of the budget would require firing police officers according to seniority, and many of the junior officers who would be let go are black.

So City Council member Lisa Herbold has a simple solution: fire only white officers.

Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley thinks federal courts would not agree with that kind of discrimination.

He pointed out in a column in his website that the late black Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall insisted that such racial discrimination is "unlawful and evil regardless of the race you want to disenfranchise or discriminate against."

Already, Seattle's black police chief, Carmen Best, has released a video calling the plan of Herbold and others "completely reckless."

In a letter to Mayor Jenny Durkan, Best warned that dramatic cuts would require the layoff of hundreds of officers, including many minority officers.

'It is unlawful to discriminate'

Herbold contends her plan would be legal, despite the prohibitions under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on its website: "It is unlawful to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race or color in regard to hiring, termination, promotion, compensation, job training, or any other term, condition, or privilege of employment."

Turley said it's clear Herbold's plan is unconstitutional, but what concerns him is that it clearly has supporters.

He cited a U.S. Supreme Court case in 2007, Community Schools v. Seattle School District No. 1, in which Chief Justice John Roberts once declared, "The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race."

Turley concluded: "That is clearly not the plan of Herbold and any of her colleagues who want to fire officers based on their race."

VIDEO: Oakland Mayor's Home Vandalized With Messages To 'Defund The Police'
July 21, 2020 - 12:35 pm

Oakland Police are investigating alleged vandalism at Mayor Libby Schaaf’s home after spray painted messages were discovered on her garage door and along stonework at the front of the property early Tuesday.

The messages say "Defund OPD," "Cancel Rent" and "Wake Up Libby," among others.

The garage and sidewalk at Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf's home was vandalized early Tuesday.
Holly Quan/KCBS Radio

Neighbors told KCBS Radio's Holly Quan they believe the vandalism occurred at about 2 a.m. Monday. They heard "20 to 30" professional-grade fireworks going off, and at least one woman said she also heard a crowd and some sort of drumming.

Many of the houses in the neighborhood have signs of support for the Black Lives Matter movement, including Mayor Schaaf's home, where a sign can be seen in a window above her garage. Graffiti was left in front of several other homes in the neighborhood, too.

"This crosses the line, because it's someone's house and property," 15-year-old neighbor Alexandra Wright said. "It's not exactly okay. It's not okay on any level."

Alexandra's mom, Amy, said this kind of activism doesn't further social justice.

"I get it," she said. "I get that people are upset. I'm upset, too. What's your goal?"

Schaaf Statement 1

Later Monday, the Oakland City Council is scheduled to meet and discuss items like possible defunding of the Oakland Police Department.

It's not known if the mayor was home at the time of the incident.

"RIDICULOUS STANDARD": Police Commissioner says Anti Chokehold Bill Hinders NYPD, Safe Arrests

•Jul 22, 2020

Glenn Beck

Yonkers, New York Police Commissioner, John Mueller, says his police department will no longer cross into New York City to help the NYPD. Why? He -- and the mayor of Yonkers, NY -- do not want to subject their department to the new, "ridiculous" anti-chokehold bill that completely hinders an officer's ability to safely arrest violent criminals. Mueller says there's NO way an officer could follow the new legislation 100 percent of the time, and if they slip up, they could find themselves in jail.

Portland protesters rally against US federal officers | DW News
•Jul 22, 2020

DW News Germany

The city of Portland has seen further clashes between protesters and federal agents sent by US President Donald Trump to end anti-racism protests there. But complaints over law enforcements officers concealing their identities have sparked criticism that it's a step towards having a secret police force. Trump has made a shift in rhetoric over the coronavirus crisis in his first pandemic briefing in nearly three months. Trump told reporters the virus will probably get worse before it gets better, noting "a concerning rise" in COVID-19 cases in southern US states. He has previously refused to acknowledge there is a problem. Trump, who has been reluctant to wear a mask himself in public, also changed his stance on facial coverings by encouraging Americans to wear them.
