Reports now of several strikes by the Israeli Air Force against the Port of Hodeidah in Houthi-controlled Western Yemen, following an evacuation order issued for Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Salif earlier tonight by the Israel Defense Force.

The “Freedom Flotilla” featuring the pleasure yacht, Madleen, was towed into the Port of Ashdod in Southern Israel earlier last night, after being intercepted yesterday by the Israeli Navy, with all of its members, including climate activist Greta Thunberg, pictured stepping off the Madleen. The flotilla members were given brief medical checkups to ensure they were in good health, before being turned over to the Israeli Police, who will deport them today back to their home countries in Europe.

Spoke with some friends in Israel who are skeptical of this report. I think it's exaggerated. Bibi likely warned Trump the Iranians are stalling. Trump likely responded he wants to give the talks some more time. That's probably a rough readout of how the conversation went. The notion Trump would request that Bibi stop discussing a military strike publicly seems outlandish as Trump himself has repeatedly dangled the prospect.

Israel defeated Hezbollah by gradually escalating to full war. Ground invasion came last. Will be interesting if US/Israel try the same approach with Iran, bombing nuke sites last, not first.

Unless Iran already has nukes. I would suspect that if they were in a use or lose situation they would use them. TO neutralize that threat I would think you hit those failities first.

Agreement will legitimize US military presence in Syria with approval of Damascus, but US forces will withdraw from all bases in northeastern Syria (incl. Deir Ezzor, Raqqa & Hasakah). US will maintain al-Tanf base located between Syria, Jordan & Iraq.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner about this. Yes MIRVs would be bad and would be traced back directly to the Iranians providing then and by extension having them on line for their own missiles. Almost as bad would be these being very good countermeasures and decoys again with Iran supplying them and having their own.

Defense Minister Israel Katz says he has instructed the IDF to "prevent the entry of jihadist protesters from Egypt into Gaza."

The remarks come as a convoy of hundreds of protesters makes its way from Tunisia, across North Africa, to the Rafah Crossing between Egypt and Gaza.

"I expect Egyptian authorities to prevent the arrival of jihadist protesters to the Egyptian-Israel border and not allow them to perform provocations and try and enter Gaza, which will endanger the security of IDF soldiers," Katz says.

I'm guessing that the Egyptian internal security people are either directly involved with this or they're using it as bait to prune some low hanging fruit.
