So maybe that earlier report from NYPrepper that Israeli planes were passing over Iraqi airspace is true.

I wouldn't be surprised if Israel USA left those planes at that base to be purposefully hit for PR.

I don't know. I was browsing news, claims that Iran would attack in hours. Claims that Israeli was ready to launch pre-emptive strikes. Next thing I knew Israel was getting hit in a big way. I had to check Agenda Free News to make sure it wasn't a sh_t post, it was all so sudden.
Means to me that the launch and strikes were not that many minutes apart, with no time for all those with real sources on Twitter to respond or warn before the missiles hit.
Although I don't think it happened here, wise to remember what happened to the Soryu, Akagi, Kaga, Hiryu with fully loaded planes on deck when the US attacks at Midway went in. If planes were being prepped for a big attack ..................................

The capability to intercept inbound missiles based on their trajectories leads me to wonder whether there was a strategy to let some damage occur at the air bases. This could serve to justify a planned retaliatory strike on Iran's nuclear program. While it may not be necessary, it could help silence any opposition.

Could be. I doubt it though. Iran would know by now (as the Russians would know for sure) and more waves of missiles would be on their way. I do believe that the IRGC would have been set up to launch everything they had. If not, stupid, the way Saddam was stupid to just sit in Kuwait for 6 months while we took that long to gear up in Saudi Arabia. Plus our elections are coming soon and my guess is pad on knees isn’t polling well in their internal polling. The deep state has contacts and could be pushing Iran to escalate. Note I said could be

That's an accurate representation. Look at this topo map of Iran-they have missile bases within mountains in the country, much like the Swiss. The Zagros range is missile heavy in particular.
FYI the street in front of the Israeli embassy here in DC was shut off for most of the day today. Don't know if it's still blocked but it's right off CT. Av and Van Ness street north of the National Cathedral.
This attack ratcheted up the Iran Israel all out war potential hugely. Hugely, folks.

Sooo, if the Israelis were fueling and arming planes on the ground, and the Iranians hit those areas with their missiles at that time, the airfields would sink, right? Like the Jap flat tops did?

I'd also look for a C32 that came in about 1530 today, and you are dead square accurate on the EAMs going out to "Strategy".
There is LOTS of strategy going on in the shadows tonight.
So in this configuration one bunker buster takes out the whole lot. The Hezzi’s thought they had them hidden also

Israel may take a wack at the nuclear program but there is not a chance in heck they will take out Iran’s oil capacity that is supplying 3 million barrels to ‘the market’ right before a US election.
If Israel attacked any serious part of Iran’s oil program oil would shoot to 80-90 dollars a barrel and we have already drained the SPR so the economy, the stock market and demo’s chance in the election would be toast.

I'm guessing they have a target list that's regularly updated for such contingencies.

I think that once anything nuclear related is attacked IN Iran, Putin will strike somewhere with a nuke.
