Harvest Radishes

DH planted a few radish seeds, some in the ground and some in one of the raised beds. The ones in the ground did nothing but the ones in the raised bed are doing great. He pulled a few, I sliced the radishes and chopped up the leaves. Sauteed them in butter and scrambled some eggs in with it. Delish

DH has a green thumb but I have a kill what ever I plant thumb. He's planted some other things that I don't even know about.

We've grown radishes in the past in our raised beds. They did great, too. I've only used them in salads, but your dish sounds good. We don't grow them now, because I can't eat them. I used to grow my own greens and green onions, too. All came in at the same time, and I looked forward to the wilted radish, mustard green, and green onion salads with warm bacon drippings for the dressing. Yum!

Love radishes. I’ve never prepared them like that, but it sounds interesting.

I've used them instead of potatoes in a pot roast, can't tell the difference. In my dish today they were kinda like fried potatoes, although I did not cook them long enough for that.

Judy-That’s sounds very good. I’ve only ever had them raw in salted water or in a salad. I’ve been wanting to try them roasted since I read they were good that way and we love roasted root vegetables. DH planted some this year so maybe I’ll be able to try that and your way too.

Last year I had a great crop of radishes, this year nothing... All in raised beds, though different beds. *wah* I dunno... maybe I started them too late? It did look like something might have been nibbling on the new sprouts.

We have them in salads, or else as slices on crackers with cheese and ham.
