It is hot, no breeze, heat indices at 110 degrees. Praise God, rain is in the forecast for this afternoon.

I am once again quarantined for two weeks starting this past Friday. Thursday, one of my four-year-olds woke up from nap time not feeling well. She crawled up into my lap crying for her mother. No fever, but her throat hurt. Covid never crossed my mind.
Friday morning, she was diagnosed with it. We had to call for all of the children to get picked up, and close down the room. 23 children, my co-teacher and I are in quarantine for 14 days. I sanitized every inch of the room before I left.

Sadly, I am not well. All of the local drive-thru test locations are now closed on weekends, so as soon as I can, I will be tested.

Dinner will be BBQ rib-eye and steak fries cooked by my brother. I'm not hungry at all, maybe later.

How about you? Build a quilt square or Just "What's for Dinner?"

Mom coughed half the night before she surrendered and took a cough drop. So she slept in this AM, no church- I stayed home too. Rainy, cloudy and cool this AM.

Menu consensus for the day was hoppin john :D

Hope things work out well for you and all the little ones, Seabird!

Can of stewed tomatoes and okra, heated up with diced ham and chopped-up shrimp tossed in.
Oooh, that sounds good ;) That might be our supper tonight, too. I've got a little can of diced ham. Great idea! :)

It's still hot here, although not nearly so as it sometimes gets this time of the year.

Seabird, I hope this turns out to be nothing much for you! Do you have any of the recommended supplements / treatments on hand? D3, Vitamin C, zinc, quercetin, ivermectin?

If you have a Family Dollar store in your area, I've found the 5 oz cans of ham there for only a dollar.

Seabird - praying for you and your little ones. DH is out of town helping his very recently widowed sister, so it will probably be clean out the fridge night.... homemade creamed corn, broccoli salad, homemade ice cream, a sandwich... I don't know.

I give up.
Peggy, so sorry you're not feeling well. :rs:

It's 90 here in St. Pete, but real feel is 98. Thank God for AC. I don't know what dinner is yet, I just put a Supreme pizza in the oven for late lunch, with extra shaved Mozzarella on top, so dinner will probably be much later tonight. Probably nothing *heavy* - maybe soup and crackers or something.

Hospitals here in FL are filling up with Covid patients, so everybody be very careful no matter where you are. This ain't ever going to be over.

It's cool today, sweater weather in the Pacific NW. I've just finished a weekly plan for our daily "what's for dinner" question. Sunday is grill day. Grilling a pile of onions, garlic, squash and peppers in oil is the best. Bought a steak, and will do my best, but I'm not good at that.

Seabird I am praying no Covid and that you start feeling better.

After going through the crowd at the 99 cent store I didn't have a good feeling. Not physical but mental. I think people are starting to- or at least are on the edge of- panic. I guess I'll just stay home as much as I can. I HATE having to wear a mask anyway and it's mandated here so....

Yesterday I had a couple cocktails (Tito's and cranberry) and made a nice dinner for myself. It doesn't look as good as it tasted but it was yummy. Chicken, cream cheese, butter, Italian creamy dressing, and spices in the crock. With noodles mixed with tomatoes, zucchini, and red onion. First time I tried this recipe and though good, next time I will just do regular alfredo sauce. This was a little clumpy.

Today was cleaning and relaxing. I've been going through my preps checking for any holes and amazingly, there aren't any (that I can see) but I managed to buy some more batteries. Never hurts to have extras on hand.

Too early for dinner here but I want to show you the sky where I’m taking a lunch break right now in Palmer a couple miles from home. It. Is. Hot. Probably 75 at least! Too hot to work outside for this girl….but it’s wonderful. Plan to drive up to Hatcher’s Pass from here for a hike so maybe more pics later. Lunch at the Palmer Ale House is a pulled pork quesadilla and the last of their Denali Chuli Stout. <3

Seabird-Prayers up for you and the littles.

Its been so hot here but the storms that came through last night have cooled things off a bit.

Sunday family lunch was panini‘s, black pepper turkey, ham and bacon were the meat choices. Sharp cheddar, pepper jack and white aged cheddar were the cheese options. They were made with sliced french bread and butter. Pecan pie and ice cream treats for dessert.

Oldest grandson can eat half his weight in bacon so today DH put him to work frying bacon for the first time LOL. They teamed up and each of them worked a cast iron skillet, put a lump in my throat to see them standing together and that grandson has almost reached DH’s height and will soon be taller as he’s just 12. *sniff*

Cool today in the 80's. A break from the 110 heat index of the last few days. Cooked a ribeye on the grill for today and a pork steak for tomorrow. Sautéed some zucchini, onion and garlic to go along with it. Probably have a nectarine later.

I'm on week 5 of GOLO. I really can't say enough about how easy this diet is. I wish I would have done it a lot sooner. Never get hungry and never get cravings. (that is a first for me on any diet) A little over 13 pounds gone so far!

Seabird my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please let us know what the tests show.

We are camped out at the Indiana State Fair this weekend. DH is the coordinator for the blacksmith shop in the pioneer village which gets us a free camping spot for the duration. The fair is closed Mondays and Tuesdays so we’ll be heading back home shortly this evening. DH will be spending a lot more time at the fair than me, I’ve already seen as much of the fair as I want to see and can be a lot more productive not to mention comfortable at home. Besides, there’s no wifi here. :-)

Check out the grand prize winning quilt. I thought it was stunning but also a little creepy.4E61B4A6-289F-4BF0-8702-924096C4924C.jpeg

Dinner tonight is fresh sliced tomatoes from the garden, sausage-zucchini-pasta casserole, and cucumber dill salad.

That is exquisite, both the design/workmanship and the color choices (IMO). WOW. Can't begin to imagine how long it took to create it, from concept to finish.

ETA: Love that it has several different quilting patterns utilized for the various parts of the portrait.

My kids went to the grocery store. The dinner plan for them is Navajo Tacos.

Have a good week you guys!

I love Navajo tacos! I never make them because it's a lot for just one person but sometimes the Indian Center here in town has a sale. Also the dispensary on the reservation has a taco truck in their parking lot a few times a month so I get my fill.

We just had a 20 minute cooling shower. Nice relief.

I just made dinner for most of the week. I made a nice lasagna with both hamburger and Italian sausage. Also made a good healthy salad to go along with homemade ranch dressing. I have enough leftover to nuke for a few days.

Oh dear, Seabird, I hope you are alright.

Our temps have dropped to the low 90s, so I can get out in the garden without dying. Hammock is up, so I can reward myself with some relaxation when the sun is going down. Today, I am spray painting chairs. I also bought a fire ring, which I will spray paint with an undercoat of black and over coat of copper. With a liner, it will make a nice strawberry ring.

Dinner will be Costco pizza. The box had 4 and there was no room in the freezer, so it will be pizza and salad for a few days.

I used to be good cook. Then I had children.

Hot and overcast here today. After church I just took a nap.
Sunday is a day to catch up on rest.

You buy pills they call Release. Natural ingredients. No jittery diet pill. It helps with insulin resistance. They help you not to have cravings or get hungry between meals...and boy do they work there. I see no side affects at all from them. No caffeine in them. You can buy a month or 6 months at a time.

Once you buy the pills one time regardless of amount you have access to the rest of the web page including meal plans and recipes as well as their FB page.

I did Noom last year and it was expensive and a total waste of money. For GOLO you can get in for less that $40 for the pills.

You can have potatoes, rice, pasta...in limited amounts, so you don't feel like you have to give up everything. Each meal you get 6 oz of protein (meat, cottage cheese, cheese) Veggies. Some sort of fat (olive oil, butter) And a carb if you don't do the potato, pasta, rice....which isn't recommended every day. Mostly carb is a fruit.

You can have whole grain bread like Dave's. I use the knock off from Aldi.

Anyway I'm liking every week getting on the scale and it is down from the week before!

Sunny hot day, about 95. Hubby and one of the kids stayed home from church to finish stretching a new section of fence from where the idiot neighbor crashed through our pasture. Cows and sheep are back in the shaded pasture now.

Made instant pot lasagna - it was good but so much mozzarella! We could have braided ropes from the cheese strings! - and now have 5 loaves of zucchini bread in the oven.

And oldest daughter is recovering great from her jaw nerve surgery 2 weeks ago. We won't know for a couple of months how successful it was, nerves regrow so slowly, but the surgeon was very happy with it.
