…… Questions on LibreOffice….

Especially word processor.
Nearly all the time I use my iPhone for posting, texting and such. I’m used to double space giving me a period, space, capitalizing beginning of next sentence. “i” is always “I”. There may be others I’m not thinking of right now. Occasionally I write letters or longer emails, and there’s quite a bit of backtracking to fix these things. Does LO have options or settings to do these things automatically?

PoD,

Word does to a certain extent, but you have to read what you type for you are the final arbiter of what you write.

I read what I type several times and it always reads what I think it reads until I post it and then the errors are apparent so corrections are required. It would be grand if you could do that with emails that you have sent.

D, T that is called "Closure" and it happens to almost EVERYONE.

It's why if the writing is IMPORTANT (like a scholarly monograph, or a work product) you have someone ELSE read for spelling and punctuation, even AFTER something like GRAMMARLY finishes up with it.

This happens to me almost every time. Aggravating as all get-out.

Y'all are Pikers. My typing? I try to visually go over and check for errors, but, kinda blindish and Spellcheck? Mine Suicided a decade ago trying to figure it out.

What a mess too-was like Alphabet Soup all over my desktop.

I don't know about using LibreOffice on cellphones, but the desktop version of LibreOffice Writer has auto-correct that can be toggled on and off, and customized.

Go to Format (one of the menu items), then to AutoCorrect, then toggle "While Typing" on or off. Or, continue under AutoCorrect, select AutoCorrect Options, then customize what you want to happen when AutoCorrect does its thing.

Yes. Tools => AutoCorrect => AutoCorrect Options

I wasn’t clear. LO is on my laptop, not an app on phone. Looks like there’s a critical mass of knowledge gathered now. Thanks, all.

I end up having to turn off all forms of auto corrupt as the multiple languages and antiquidated english dialect references I use keep getting changed.
