Misc Question about taste

Hope in chains...
For a few years now, I am not able to taste any kind of bread product. I'm wondering if anyone would know why this is? It's only anything breadlike, biscuits, toast, the like. Makes life a bit difficult.

My dad had that. It's caused by several things - as you age your taste buds and sense of smell decrease. Smell goes along and works with taste.

I'm assuming you don't have a headcold - head colds restrict smell which in return affect taste.

Add to that medications - anti-depressants, ace inhibitors, cancer treatments and beta blockers are the big ones that affect taste. If you are or were a smoker that also affects the size and number of active taste buds as you get older.

Lucky you! A life without bread is a good thing!
