USA Quarter of Americans believe it’s time for U.S. to split into separate red, blue countries

Proposals have called for essentially giving Democrats and Republicans their separate states and countries.

A sizable percentage of U.S. voters support a proposal to split the country into two separate countries — amid bitter political divides, according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

Twenty-five percent of respondents back "splitting the red states and blue states into separate countries."

A very solid majority, 62%, oppose such a measure.

Political divisions in the U.S. have become even more bitter and divided in the wake of the 2020 election, won by Democrat Joe Biden in a close contest and amid concerns about voting irregularities in the U.S.'s election process.

The Clinton Archipelago would have a very difficult time of it. Trumpland, however, may not feel much difference.

Trying to split by states would raise some fairly sticky issues; take a state like Michigan, for example, which was mostly red by county, but since the handful of blue counties are so heavily populated they take the whole state toward blue.

I've been saying that since Obama's first term. It was obvious there was no longer any middle ground, and the Left was becoming more and more unhinged. It was obvious there would be no amicable split either. They just want us to conform or die. No other options as far as they're concerned. I think it's the only way for the US to survive in any meaningful way. There will definitely be bloodshed in the process, but I believe less than the alternative of staying the current course.

I’m getting the definite opinion that places like SD are starting to look like an alternative in the short run.. In fact, might even be necessary... :kaid:

As soon as the country splits, the communist/socialist forces will begin infiltrating the Red states forcing another split. It will be a continuous divide and conquer strategy until there are no Red states left. To willingly split off is suicide. It needs to be all or nothing.

As each day passes, I become more and more convinced that we have entered the biblical "End Times - Last Days" which raises the question : Do you or I Know Jesus personally? Where will we spend eternity?

I admit, it does get harder and harder to care about politics and the like. I have no children, will have no grandchildren, so the idea of just letting the baby have its bottle, so to speak, is tempting from time to time. Then the whole issue of "occupy until the end" kicks in and complicates matters.

I'd be happy cutting it down the middle and say Eastern US is Red .............Western US is Blue and give everyone 10 years to get on the correct side of the Mississippi.........

Hey, as a Michigander, I am not opposed in the least to slicing this state in half. You draw a horizontal line at the 44th parallel, from Standish in the east, through Gladwin, all the way over to the Ludington area. Everything north of that is North Michigan (red), everything south of that is South Michigan (blue). I’d be happy to be in charge of that plan.

Do this for any state that has split partisan population. If we end up with 80 states or whatever, so be it. Use that 2 trillion dollar stimulus to give every adult American citizen over the age of 18 a $10,000 stimulus check, and declare a financial jubilee. Credit card, loan, and mortgage forgiveness with everyone starting out at an 800 credit score. Then provide a 1 year period to allow everyone to move to the state of their choice, with federally guaranteed mortgages up to $150,000. Allow penalty free 401K withdrawal.

I’m sure someone brilliant can come up with a plan that works. And it should have no problem getting it funded if we cut out every bit of unnecessary government spending, the $2 million for bird poop studies and $45 million for a toilet brush contract, etc. etc.

If the Red splits off who pays for all the Blues?

Not gonna happen. At least peacefully
all the "Blues" are port cities.
trade routes and ports are always rolling in cash.
money flows into ports to pay for the exchange of goods from one country to the next
it is a historic fact - it is the basis of civilization

and you want to give up all the ports?
yer crazy

In theory, FL, TX, SC, LA, MS, northern Michigan, Wisconsin, and northern CA (the state of Jefferson) would be more than enough to create new ports for a new country. Just sayin.

Speaking as someone who lives about 20 miles north of Indiana, in a paid-for house, with no mortgage and no credit rating--I bought on a land contract and pay cash for most everything--I dislike your plan intensely as it costs me a boatload. I'd have to sell my house, probably at a loss, and lose my job as internet access in your projected range is spotty as all hell.

Course, I'm still hopeful that Indiana will annex the first line of Michigan counties when it departs the union. They already call us "Michiana" as it is.

sounds good, but ports arise out of the qualities of the landscape that make for a good port.
if a location has had a population for a hundred years, and there is no port,
then making it into a port is a challenge..

but more important . . .
why are you willing to simply give the liberals all the choice real estate. just to shut them up?
it doesn't work . . . they only want more, more, more
ask any Native American you see

We’re in almost the exact same boat, but honestly, I would be more than happy to start over from scratch if it meant living and working in a truly independent and free country.

There has been a movement in Illinois to split the state into two different states for at least 25 years. It lumbers along with support from down staters (we're country folk) and nothing but laughter from the real owners of the state (Chicago demon-crats). If you look at a red blue map of Illinois by county, you quickly see that there are only a handful of blue areas and the vast majority of the land area is conservative.

Chicago will never let us go. The only time we'll see a new state is when the Demon-crats add Puerto Rico during the harris/bidden term. It will take a constitutional amendment to make DC a state, but they'll try.

Everything these bozos do is to give them more power and eliminate the risk from their opponents (we the people).

Some might say, what better way to eliminate risk than to have them be no longer part of the country?

It would be more like Red = countryside and Blue = big cities. Too spread out to consolidate into physical states or regions. Cities are full of liberals, the surround countryside full of conservatives. How in the hell do you divide that up? How about we just cut off their food and water and starve the big cities into conservatism......?

oh yea, right.
Kansas is gonna dig a big hole, fill it with water and call it a port. or yea, Montana.
You have to have access to the Ocean.
Or maybe you have a navigable river that reaches the ocean somewhere. You are going to pay tariffs to the Blue states for all goods imported.

yea, you want to pay appeasement taxes to the communists
and it does not work.

They can use Oklahoma’s port in Catoosa. Tributary of the Mississippi I think. As long as Louisiana and Arkansas is on board we would be ok.

yea, except Galveston is Democrat controlled and they want it too
Succession is a major move, Surrounded by red, I would think working through another or establishing another port on the Golf Coast would be feasible.

Just my ancient opinion. The world has left me in the past few years and I'm thinking through my 3 outdated brain cells.

We do not need to secede. What we need is power to go back to where it belongs........the states. the problem is that too much money and control is Federal. The fedgov needs to only do 3 things, ensure unrestricted interstate trade (and free movement between), secure our borders, and manage international treaties. All taxes should go to the states NOT THE FEDGOV. The states then decide TOGETHER how much money the fedgov needs to fulfill its duties. The Senate and Congress should be appointed by their respective states. If you dont like how your state is run you can move to an area that closer resembles your ideal.

My plan would call for administrative zones. The union and the states would stay together. Blue zones would have their crazy laws. Red zones would be free and American.

We need to choose separate peacefully. Now.
