5th Wheels Propane question???

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
I have been purchasing the 20 pound tanks of propane. They are quite expensive if this is how you are going to live and do everything.

On the other hand>>>>I have 400 gallons in my 500 gallon tank in the back!!

Is there a way that I can connect the RV directly to the BIG propane tank with out blowing everything up and or destroying the gas lines in the RV because the pressure is too high???

Would REALLY cherish answers from those who might know this!!

I do know that the BIG tank propane can be transferred into the small 20 pounders, just looking for an easy way to deal with this issue>>>>

A regulator is required at the tank, but not only the pressure but the demand volume must be taken into account.
Yes, it can be done but find someone local that is familiar with this.

Thank you very much Tech!!

suggest you contact your local supplier - who ever you purchase propane from - they will - or they SHOULD - have a technician who can not only make those connections for you properly but safely.

also suggest you make that call TOMORROW. its getting to be their (VERY) busy season and you may need to be put on a list. if you're serious about this make it a top priority DO IT and don't procrastinate.

Thank both of you>>>>Tech and Raggedyman>>>>>I appreciate the insights and advice VERY much!!

Although I watched a You Tube video on how to transfer the gas from the big tank to the smaller ones, I kinda got the creeps>>>scaredy pants goose bumps thinking about trying to do it!!

Having an expert do it is a WONDERFUL idea>>>>thank you BOTH again!

Good advice to contact your local propane supplier. I know here that the suppliers are VERY cautious about new installations. They will do their own leak down tests etc.

years ago I bought a 500 gallon tank from a neighbor and the shutoff valve needed to be replaced. I called a local co-op supplier and they were very helpful. They had a guy come out and replace the valve. I mentioned it would be nice to be able to fill 20 pounders. He said my tank already had a wet leg and all it needed was a valve. He also had a hose and fittings on his truck. It cost me $200 at the time, but it has paid for itself many times over.
