Has No Life - Lives on TB
there a ton of ebooks and such on places like piratebay.org, that you can download via torrent. mind you, you may wish to check if they are public domain or not... ;)

must have 18gb on an external hard drive right now...

< Yes, I do look like that.
I think I have a handful of obscure PDFs on things like emergency medicine, nuclear fallout shelter construction techniques, etc. If I still have 'em I'll throw 'em on to a web server and post linkage.

I give up.
I'm getting an irrepairable file error with the first "LDS Preparedness Manual", anyone else getting it?

ETA: Same error with the second link, as well.

I clicked on it and it worked for me. You have to wait a minute, it's a PDF file.

:)

Just learned a lovely trick for my Kindle program (have the kindle but also have the app on my laptop, ipad, and iphone ... yeah, I'm "plugged in" due to the business but honest to pete on some days it feels more like a leash or noose than anything else).

Anywho, with the kindle you get an email address ... they assign it ... and you can send your kindle documents as an email attachment and they show up on your kindle device. I sent myself several documents in .docx format and had absolutely no trouble with images or anything else and they showed up in five minutes. Supposedly .pdfs take longer but I haven't tried one of those yet though you can also apparently get them converted to the actual kindle format. There is a 5 gig limit on personal documents but I suspect by using that program that Dennis posted about some months back you could convert on your hard drive and then upload and not have to touch the 5 gig limit.

Just thought I would pass that along as another method of backing things up for a period of time.

Greetings!

I'm new here, but I wanted to first thank everyone for posting such wonderful resources!

It's really nice to be part of a group that is willing to share and help each other out!

So many links n books, so little time! Thank you all... keep em coming.

I've been debating over a kindle. $80 goes a long way in my preps though... so I'm just downloading, saving and printing for now. If I feel rich soon, I may go for it though. Sam's Club is right around the corner. Beans n Rice n an e-reader! lol

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PRINTING!!

When printing so many pages, take a look at the printer settings. Usually the 'draft' print setting, sometimes called the 'fast' setting, will print clear enough to read without any difficulty. Using that setting takes far and away less ink than the normal setting does.

MAke your printer ink go further by using the draft or fast setting.

Fruit Loops old Prep 101 series on this board is a must have for prepping. The link for TB is here: http://www.timebomb2000.com/vb/showthread.php?281659-The-Full-Prep-101-Series

Genrim sent me a Microsoft Word copy of this whole series that I uploaded to my website. The link is here: http://www.bigbaywx.com/upload/Prep 101.doc

Thanks so much for posting this as I wanted to print our the series!

Does anyone know of a Red Cross Manual pdf file? I am not seeing one out in google land. That would be a great one to have printed out.

People, I know we love our kindles, but what happens if an emp hits or when we can't finally charge it? Seriously think about printing out good manuals if you can't go buy them in hard form. Grandpappys for example has tons of recipes that don't use eggs! I need those, so I printed. Just a thought =)

What red cross files are you looking for?

I've got a few ARC files in this folder...

I also digitized the Red Cross Mass Feeding manual several years ago, but don't have a link to it right this moment...can post it later today.
