I’m sorry but while these may be useful in some cases I sure hope no one believes that 3600 calories equals 9 meals

Yes, to be fair, these are lifeboat rations. The beauty of them is that they withstand conditions of temp and humidity that other emergency rations don't tolerate well. For a "lifeboat", or the trunk of your car, even if you live in Arizona or Minnesota. They aren't meant for long-term survival, but 1200 calories/day will certainly keep you from getting lightheaded, loopy and shutting down for a week or so until you are dug out from Donner Pass.

Haha...and then, there are we few, the proud, the evolutionally survival machines, who will actually gain weight on 1200 calories/day... :lol:

Yes, like I said, useful in some cases - as long as you're aware what you are getting.
