Good source of food grade 5-gal buckets-any college or University, or for that matter, I bet school cafeterias go thru them too.
After trying unsuccesfully to get some thru the bakeries of grocery chains, I decided to try the cafeteria of the University I work at. They gave me two right off the bat, and will save me as many as I can handle.

Great idea. School is fixing to take back in here in a few more weeks. I will darn sure hit them up now.

Another place that I would never have thought of that uses lots of the buckets is ice cream shops. We did a field trip to a local Bruster's Ice Cream Shop last spring and I noticed a stack of buckets sitting there. Asked the lady what they did with them and she said she was saving the 2.5 gallon ones, but didn't want the 5 gallon buckets. Said we could pick them up anytime.
