One has to assume that the perp is reasonably intelligent, if only because they could obtain ricin. It's not like you can get it at your local Walmart.

Really? In other news, 20 packages of Ricin are sent to the White House every week. What makes this one so different would be real news.

Cipro is for anthrax. There is no antidote I know of for ricin... just supportive treatment.Who's your source in Springfield? Or Brentwood? A lot of weird stuff gets sent to the WH facility but if there were 20 packs of ricin aweek sent there, the worker would be dying from overdoses of cipro! That's SOP if there's exposure in the facility.
Wife did a courier run in 2004 for her job , some mail she picked up was processed in that facility.there was a supposed anthrax letter in the facility when her mail was there. She had to do a 30 day regimen of cipro hors pill sized pills.
The suspect in the ricin-letter case was taken into custody this morning, she is a native of St-Hubert. According to the Daily Mail, the woman was arrested trying to enter the US from Canada at a New York state border crossing. According to a law enforcement official, she was allegedly armed with a gun when detained.Ongoing police operation on Vauquelin blvd in St-Hubert, related to the contaminated letter sent to the White House. Not as difficult as you might think. The late true crime author Ann Rule wrote a book about Dr. Debora Green, a physician who came very close to killing her husband (also a physician) using ricin from castor beans she obtained at a local garden center, "Bitter Harvest: A Woman's Fury, a Mother's Sacrifice".

If you read up on the case, you would know the only thing she actually did was grind the beans and incorporate them into his food. NO chemistry needed.Well friend, you're sort of making my case that the perp had to be reasonably intelligent. I researched Dr. Green. Not only was she a medical doctor, but she majored in chemistry while at university. This meets my definition of "reasonably intelligent."

Quebec resident Pascale Ferrier has been identified as the suspect alleged to have sent letters containing the poisonous substance ricin to the White House and different locations in Texas, including a police department, CTV News has confirmed.
A team that specializes in biohazards swarmed a Montreal-area condo Monday morning, evacuating several units as they looked for evidence connected to the ricin-laced letter sent to U.S. President Donald Trump.

The letters were intercepted before reaching their destination, and the exact number is “in flux,” officials say.
Ferrier, 53, was arrested at the New York-Ontario border on Sunday while trying to cross the border into Buffalo, N.Y.
Ferrier was initially expected to appear in court Monday afternoon in Buffalo to face federal charges in the U.S., but sources tell CTV News the appointment was postponed to tomorrow.
