So Nightdriver stepped out this AM to help me (R.E.L.I.C.) unload the displays and leftover stock from Saturdays show and promptly tripped over a flagstone and FOR SURE: FRACTURED right foot (1st metatarsal), right wrist and possibly several ribs. Stitches count is either 6-8 above eye. As he can't use crutches due to shoulder issues, he has to be admitted. Kudos to Euclid EMS who listened to him and boarded him, rather than try to stand him up from the gravel. And the Dr who has ok'ed morphine!.
Good Lord ND, you really did it. Prayers for a complete recovery.

Based on personal experience, the older you get, the slower you heal. Hoping for the quickest possible total healing.

Neither here nor there.
Yes, it IS a tough one.
All I can do is keep me head down and keep me eyes on da prize and keep me trust in M'lord for rabid healing.

Skilled nursing isn't a bad thing, give it a whirl for a week, as this will reduce the stress on RELIC. the first few days when OC was home from the hospital I did not sleep at all and it was incredibly hard on me, a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. We have a couple of very nice facilities here in town and the bonus is they have PT services on site.

Best wishes for healing. Look what happened at Lake Tahoe:
Tahoe tourist startled by bear in dumpster sues over his injuries
A Tahoe tourist is suing after he alleges he was injured when a bear popped out of a dumpster in Incline Village, court documents show.
Plaintiff John Donaldson says he suffered a torn Achilles tendon and was diagnosed with spinal compression after tripping and falling on Sept. 5, 2019, at Incline Crest Condominiums in Tahoe.
Incline Crest could not be reached for comment.
Donaldson alleges that he was walking his dog when he walked up to a dumpster to dispose of his pet's waste. Upon opening the latch, "he was immediately confronted by a bear who was in the dumpster," court documents obtained by courthousenews.com said. Being startled by the bear, Donaldson, a Davis resident, tripped and fell, twisting his left leg and ankle and landing on his back, the documents said. In the court documents, Donaldson said his torn Achilles required surgery, as did the injuries sustained to his back.

Wow! You did it good! The problem with age is that you don't bounce like you used to. Once while watching a movie with my 6 year old grandson, one of the characters fell hard to the ground. I told my grandson that would really hurt me because I don't bounce like I used to. He looked at me with a very serious face, and trying to make me feel better said, "That's okay grandma. You're fluffy now.". At least you're not fluffy, Chuck!

BTW...tripping over things that mere mortals can't even see is my super power.
Why do cats walk right in front of your feet? Trying to trip is on purpose? I've had the cat tangled between my legs and I almost tripped - more than once!

I've had raccoons pop out and that is enough to almost cause cardiac arrest. I would be bear poop if a bear :shkr: came out of the dumpster, cause my heart would probably beat right out of my chest and then the bear would have a nice warm meal at his feet.
