I didn’t take these pics of course, but they’re my favorite places on the Oregon coast.

Glad that I can see it with these beautiful pics because that is one state I have not had the opportunity to visit, and don't think I ever will.

Goodness before greatness.
I have always been intrigued by rugged and desolate coastal areas northern top portion of CA up...

I’m about ready for an long October on the coast traveling up there again.

Maybe after The Great un-masking Mask War Summer of 2021.

Breathtaking photographs!, Dennis.
I lived on the Oregon Coast for 12 years, and every morning I'd step outside thinking, "I LOVE where I live!"

Don’t let the Piss Ants get you down…
The northern west coast is absolutely breathtaking. I say that as someone that’s spent time up and down the East and Gulf Coasts.

I've spent many weekends on the west coast. Mostly from Crescent city and north to Gold beach and further south and north.

It's truly Gods country. The Redwoods call to me everyday. The Smith river is where a part of my soul resides.

Just amazing area. Recommend all to explore.

All of the Calif Coast (West Coast in general) is capable of stunning photos, as long as you put civilization behind you when taking the photo.

There is nothing special about this photo, it's quite average. But sometimes the breeze is just right on a hot day, the waves, the peaceful boats just sailing by are relaxing. This was taken yesterday (Aug 3, 2022), standing on the shore facing the Santa Cruz Pier. Wednesdays all the boats shove off and sail around, it's Wednesday. Most of the boats out yesterday are out of view of this photo, they're further out into Monterey Bay.

The dark blobs in the water at the BOTTOM of this photograph are kelp, anchored on the bottom 20-30 ft down.

Very nice and good that you described the kelp beds. I have dived kelp beds on the West Coast and while they are often a PITA for boaters and don't look very attractive on the surface, once you go under water they can look amazingly beautiful.
