As long as bell bottom pants don’t come back.

What is old again becomes new as the kids with that kind of hair think that they came up with the style. Pretty soon long hair on boys will be back in style and I had forgotten about the rat tails until thar was mentioned. Just no bell bottoms or disco......please!!

My son got one about a year and a half ago. My rules were had to be out of his eyes and so he couldn't chew on it. Came home with a mullet. I warned him that his friends in school would probably give him crap. They loved it.

The barber shop where I get my hair cut encourages weird hairstyles, probably because it keeps them from getting bored. They advertise "mullet Mondays", for example. Last winter when my concert crew went out for beers one night we ran into a guy with a glorious ginger mullet. Kid was probably mid 20's. He said that girls actually loved it so he kept it. :)

I had a mullet in Highschool. I also had a Bosworth in 10th grade. Bet not many know what that is. I was ahead of my time in hair styles I'm sure. LOL! The stupid crap we do as yungins.

I know what that is. It also tells me we is of the same tribe since the internet didn't exist back then!

Wow. I never thought I’d see a thread on the resurgence of the mullet.

I’m not sure how to interpret that. I’m still struggling with accepting it. Much like Nancy Pelosi and the Constitution thingy...

Sorry to tell you, I've been seeing bell bottom pants on the retail racks for more than a month now!

I remember when that area was a run down wonderland of offbeat bars, an old hardware shop and a most fantastic junk store.

It's trendy bars and expensive boutiques these days. There was a small coffee shop with great muffins that didn't break the bank, but they're no longer in business.

In my time, the late 80s, early 90s, there was also an Asian store, digny and reeking of medicinal spices and such but, oh, so good for red bean paste goodies.

Back in the day. (1963) I wore a cut called the "Detroit". It was a butch down the top, and long on the sides, ideal for combing. Remember the comb. Would sweep it back over the ears. Use a tube of Bryleem a month. It was sort of in the Greaser style. White t-shirts, jeans w/rolled up cuffs, and converse shoes.

'Course if you were old enough to smoke, or cheat and smoke anyway, I wasn't, you roll a pack of Lucky Strikes up in the t-shirt sleeve.

You listened to Sha-na-na and Bowser.

With Mullets coming back, I wonder if Redman chewing tobacco will be next?

People are self styling their hair due to lockdowns and lack of being able to see a barber????

Some of us are sporting extra long beards and growing mullets because we can't get into a barber shop. We got locked down before I could get my spring shearing last year, so my beard is down to the bottom of my chest right now and I've never had my hair this long before.

If only it wasn't all grey/white.

I’ve grown a “biker’s goatee” which I keep trimmed. The hair is a different story. I haven’t had a haircut since February 2020 due to the lockdowns. I’d always kept my hair short, but can’t now. But the long hair on the sides bothered me, so I cut it (I could see it after all, unlike the back.) Then I realized that I had a fine mullet starting. That’s when I quit cutting the sides. Hoping to be able to pony-tail it soon. That’ll be a real first for me.

Ahh...the Kentucky waterfall. Never had one, as that was a 80’s thing. Had a Bosworth for a while...maybe. Or maybe it was a Howie Long...flattop. Now there’s not enough hair on my head to do anything interesting. But, for some reason I can grow quite a beard. I mow that thing every two weeks minimum.

Yep. It's the end of days now for sure.
I'll really be hiding under the bed if later this year I see everyone running around with bowl cuts...

Some of the Amish and Mennonites in rural areas still do them for young boys. When I cut my hair last April, I did a modified bowl cut and then used texturizing shears to make the lines shaggy (and invisible) on me since it was summer. I've got a pixie cut, now, which is somewhat uneven in the back, but I don't care. Our numbers are up right now, so no professional haircuts for me.

If I need to be on camera, I tie on a colorful scarf. Most of the meetings I'm in right now are audio only -OR- we're showing Powerpoints.

Bell bottoms are back. All the "youngs" are loving them. Got mine caught in the bicycle spokes in the late '60s. Never again.
What ya think about thin, grey mullet? Yeah, considering it!
