What is the big draw to W. Africa. Seems like everyone is going or coming back. What is there to do there. I thought they were poor and they didn't have much. Seems all these people coming to USA on planes getting sick are coming from there.

Well, probably the only people going over there right now are aid workers but I suspect a lot of people over there with any means are trying to get out any way they can. If they have family over here I am sure the family is doing all they can to get their loved ones out to keep them from getting sick. And the more it spreads over there and the overall conditions worsen, the more people will be fleeing any way they can. And the more sick people will be flowing into our country.

And this is the curious thing to me. The missionaries are serving the lowest classes in Africa, where I hear conditions are atrocious. You'd think they would have a much higher risk of contracting the virus.

The HOT ZONE

We need all travel FROM the HOT ZONE, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, to the US to be stopped ASAP. These people must have a visa to travel to the US. All current visas must be rescinded and not another one issued until this crisis is over. No West African with a passport from these 3 countries must be allowed to travel to the US. The idiot in the WH must stop all traffic from these 3 countries!

Africa is a huge continent and citizens not from the 3 HOT ZONE countries may travel here. Traffic can be both ways unless Ebola breaks out in another African country. Commerce can continue. Missionaries are mostly going to other African nations. But anyone leaving the HOT ZONE for the US should be under quarantine for 21+ days.

I pray that we (the US) are never labeled a HOT ZONE. A few more Dallas type hospital fiascos and ............

A man and woman I met at my son's school are about to leave for an African Safari. Want to see elephants. My first thought was that the San Diego zoo is only about 50 miles away, a lot cheaper and probably a lot safer. Some folks have more money than sense.
