Farm Of Mushrooms and Geese

This time of year is full-on harvest from my garden and I love it ( though I hate saying goodbye to all the lovely green). Just took a quick check around the property and gathered a good few puffballs…morels are the best, but love these with my garlic. I do look forward to the lion‘s mane mrooms next month, but these are lovely for now. Next year I’ll try to dry some but for now they are a really fun treat!

What mushrooms have you got to gather these days?

As far as geese go, they are indeed gathering and turning their bills south. I love hearing the call of the sandhill cranes but hearing the geese has always made me a little sad…

Love shrooms and garlic. Also, when my kids were young sandhill cranes always nested in the fields near us...No.Mn. The kids and I would take my car, go to the fields, and sit quietly for ever watching them, and later their little ones. And then , if we were lucky, we would catch them as they began their migration south.
