Winston Salem used to be a pretty safe place to live not so much anymore, I flat refuse to even go around that town anymore and if I have to its heavily armed. My mother has to go there once in a great while for Dr. appointments.
A certain part of the residents seem to think laws don't apply to them.
They generally don't apply.

True, but that’s no child…it’s a time bomb of violence, sexual predation, and destruction.

The longer this cancer goes un treated, the more radical the cure will need to be.

The older I get, the more I realize that in the south, where I was born and raised, knew how to handle this kind…ever see Cool Hand Luke?

Can someone please offer an explanation for these pictures? Thanks.

Our family took a trip to Winston-Salem because I wanted to show my boys my discovery of "Salem Village"--a Mennonite settlement nearly as old as Jamestown. We got there late that night, and the hotel--not a cheap one, this was no "Motel 6"--had (despite our frequent calls to say we were on our way but running late and not to give our rooms away) given our room to someone else because there was some sort of sports convention in town.

Basketball.

Then we discovered that the room they DID want to give us didn't have enough beds for 5--so one of my sons ended up pulling the cushions off the sofa and sleeping on those on the floor. We kept asking didn't they have the roll-out bed I'd been promised, and they said they had "loaned it to the hotel across the street." (wth?)

All night long--we were re-re-reawakened by LOUD partygoers coming home from the basketball games--surprisingly, mostly women--whose idea of fun was to laugh loudly, talk loudly, and fight loudly, at 2 am/3 am/4 am/ etc.

So -- FINALLY--at 4 am the hotel clerk knocks on the door (waking us all up, since we'd FINALLY gone to sleep) to bring the stupid roll-out bed.

The next day, the boys and I were all too exhausted to really enjoy "touring" Salem Village--it was all we could do to drag ourselves around from one house to another. Pretty much ruined the whole trip.

GTR of the ENTIRE downtown Winston-Salem population we dealt with, from the "sports" party-goers to the hotel clerks to the people on the street (except in Salem Village).

It shocked me to learn while there that many of the regional banks in our area are head-quartered in Winston-Salem--it's a wonder all of them haven't failed. (and many have--and have merged with other ones)

Sorry Bev, they’re from a 1967 movie that is set in the south in a prison, like in the 1920’s…

The prison guards were all constantly armed, cruel, sadistic and the warden was a psycho...or at least that’s the way they were portrayed…might could be that it takes such hard men to control formerly human animals like this beast in the OP.

North Carolina HS student charged after slapping female teacher in profanity-filled classroom tantrum in front of laughing classmates

Nicholas McEntyre
A North Carolina high school student was charged after he allegedly slapped his teacher multiple times during a viral profanity-laced classroom rant earlier this week.

The rage-filled youngster, identified only as a minor, confronted the educator inside Parkland High School in Winston-Salem, where he violently attacked her, according to video posted to social media.

After the initial impact, the teacher seemed unfazed by the slap as the student continued to run his mouth.

The student was charged with one count of Communicating Threats and two counts of Misdemeanor Assault.

The rage-filled youngster, identified only as a minor, confronted the educator inside Parkland High School in Winston-Salem, where he violently attacked the teacher on April 15.

“Do you think that affected me anyway,” the unidentified teacher said, sitting back in her chair, legs crossed.

“Want me to hit you again,” the juvenile asked as he menacingly approached the teacher.

“I don’t want it,” the teacher answered before being hit again, this time from the right side.

The second blow knocks the sitting instructor’s glasses off her face.

“The f–k’s wrong with you, what you gonna do, still sit in that chair ’cause you a bitch. Ain’t nobody even coming, you got slapped,” says the student, seemingly singing and dancing.

“Bitch go back to teaching.”

After the initial impact, the teacher seemed unfazed by the slap as the student continued to run his mouth.

Students behind the camera reacted to the slaps with laughter amid the classroom assault.

The school district condemned the student’s behavior.

“This behavior will not be tolerated. At no time is it acceptable for students to put their hands on a teacher in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools,” Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Tricia McManus said, according to WXII.

“My focus now is on making sure that our teacher is taken care of and has the support needed to navigate through the lasting effects of this incident.”

The assault occurred inside a classroom at Parkland High School in Winston-Salem, NC on April 15, 2024.

On Tuesday, a secure custody order was issued for three misdemeanor charges against the student for assault on a government official.

He was charged with one count of communicating threats and two counts of misdemeanor assault, the Forsyth Sheriff’s Office announced.

“While we all agree that this incident was deplorable and outrageous to the community, and community organizations. All of us should be outraged when those who educate us can be assaulted,” Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. said.

“We should hold those who teach and educate our children to the highest regard. Our hope and our prayer at the FCSO is that we recognize that we as a community must bring order not only to our community but our children. We are praying for wholeness for those students who witnessed this and the educator involved.”

Parkland High School Principal Noel Keener warned the student would face disciplinary action along with the criminal charges.

Keener also reiterated that the behavior didn’t display the school’s expectations of its students.

“Please know this video is not reflective of our expectations of students at Parkland High School. We are working with district staff to address this immediately and ensure behavior like this is not tolerated in our school and district.”

On Tuesday, the juvenile justice issued a secure custody order for three misdemeanor charges against the student for Assault on a Government Official.

“Both Sheriff Kimbrell and myself spent the morning at Parkland High School speaking with the teacher, because we want one message to be delivered today: ‘This isn’t about the color of your skin, this isn’t about your political affiliation, today is about one thing. Sending a message to the teachers out there, that law enforcement and the District Attorney’s Office support you, we care about the job you do.'”

“Nobody goes to work and expects to get assaulted.”
Nobody that randomly assaults a teacher thinks about retribution either !

I have family that still live in Winston Salem or at least the outskirts of it, crazy thing is they sold their share of family land near me because it was too country for them, I wouldn't trade one acre of mine for 100 of theirs in the city and put up with that crap.

I worked for the Winston school system for 1 year and that was all I needed to see.
They have a "no touch" policy that is excessively strict.
There was a very loud, very obnoxious student that wouldn't sit or stop talking. She kept her back turned to me, ignoring me, so I tapped her on the shoulder and told her we needed to start class now.

"Oh no you didn't! - No you didn't just touch me!" - and stormed out of the class.
A few minutes later, they called ME to the office. They were very considerate and understanding, but made it clear that you can not touch a student period.

Another student was going around the class slapping other students. HARD. - Some were crying. I called the office to have the SRO (on site police) escort the student out.
I later spoke with the principal, and she said there's nothing she could do because he has been suspended 3 times this year and that is the limit. (This was the 4th month of the school year)

I suggested he could be expelled, but she argued that "Every child deserves an education".

They recently offered teachers their regular pay plus an additional $6/hr if they would be willing to drive a bus.
The entire system is in ruins.

I've dealt with smacks/hits/kicks/bites and all manners of bodily fluids (intentionally sent in my direction and not), but it had always been by children 7 and under or in a self-contained special ed classroom.
I don't think there is any way I would be able to show the kind of restraint that teacher did.

Watching the video, either that teacher is an absolute saint, or s/he (I had the same thought NCGirl) provoked it by pushing the right buttons to get the kid pissed off. It doesn't excuse what the kid did, but I've seen plenty of teachers know how to push a kid over the edge in order to get them to get themselves in trouble.
If he was "pushed over the edge" to the point of violence, he belongs in a cage. My dad always said children are born as little savages. It's a parent's job to teach them to be civilized. Otherwise, you get really smart savages, a nuisance to all. Methinks politicians just pretend to be civilized long enough to get themselves in power, and then out comes the savage.

It turns out the teacher was also transgender. I'm not sure how that might have played into things and still doesn't excuse being physically assaulted, but I have a feeling it factored into the whole situation.

Dare I GTR? Guessing the phrase was likely "Oh no you din't" or "Oh no you di-int". If she was ignoring you, you couldn't just axe her to leave.

Personally, I would have quit right then.

Not really - wearing a hood up indoors and the shoes sort of make it obvious. The transcribed commentary ETA
And judging by the fuzzy focus images in OP, I'd guess the "juvenile" to be 5'10 or better and an athletic 180± lbs.

And apparently beating a woman, any woman, is OK where he sleeps.

Only one way to handle rabid animals. . . .
Yeah not PC & IDC.

Cool Hand Luke IIRC.

I wonder how that Thug/Juvenile would survive a chain gang environment, starting w/ a couple of sessions in "The Box"

Aversion therapy does work.
